  Unfortunately, the serial numbers for Creative Suites are specific operating system: Windows only or Mac only. You cannot use a serial number of Windows license CS6 on a Mac (and vice versa).

  Yes, you can buy version upgrade for the 6 CS, if you have a previous version i.e (CS5.5, CS 5, CS 4, CS 3) If you have any version of it, you can go with upgrade, but make sure you buy the same platform and language.
