How can you get into BIOS on a Satellite 320 CD.

Hi my name is steve, I was wondering how get you into the BIOS on a satellite 320 CD. Because it's my first format at the top of a tower. Done a lot on the office laptops just never. As some fool tried to do before me and distroyed it. Now the only thing that happens is when the toshiba logo disappears this message appears, INVALID SYSTEM DISK, REPLACE THE DISK, THEN press ANY KEY. It allows to run Windows 98 and it worked great for what age there. Hoping to put XP on it, but its only got a small hard drive (4099 mb). So will hand 98 on it until I get a bigger hard drive. Only need to teach my daughter how to respect a laptop. I want to get into the BIOS for the format. No instructions on how to enter the BIOS would be great, because I'm good from there. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello

You suggested that you want to enter the BIOS to format the HARD drive. Very strange.
However, if you want to boot from the CD so you can also use the C button immediately after the power button.
The laptop should boot from the CD of Win98. The installation procedure contains a HARD drive format option.

Hey what are you doing? You want to lose your warranty? Do not do stupid things. Remove the BIOS battery you will not reset the BIOS. It is not simple desktop machine.

Please proceed to a full stop - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm - and after boot up your laptop, press F12 and you will enter the start menu with the option to enter the BIOS settings.

  • Satellite L840/020 - can't get into BIOS after enabling the quick start option

I have a laptop Toshiba L840/020 (PSK8LA-020007). I recently installed a 330 Series SSD and Windows 8 Pro RTM 6.2.9200 MSDNAA on this Intel and enabled the fast boot option in the BIOS (boot speed > fast).

Now I can't get into the BIOS, no matter what I do. I tried pressing the power button / stop while pressing F2 (as suggested by a few other forums), upward on default that I tried all F and Esc keys, but nothing does. I also tried repeatedly pressing F2 during startup, plugged a USB external and supported on F2 keyboard on it, but no matter what I can't get into the BIOS.

Please let me know how to enter the BIOS. Thank you.

    Hello

First try INS then F2 key.

Then you should be able to access the BIOS, I recommend disabling the QuickStart in the BIOS if you can successfully enter the BIOS.

With regard to the update of the BIOS.
I checked the page of the Toshiba driver to THE and it seems that the BIOS v6.20 is even similar to Win 7.
I think that the BIOS update must be done running the system pre-installed Toshiba since Win 8 is not officially on the market, and to my knowledge, there are some big restrictions updated BIOS running Win 8

  • Can't get into BIOS

I just bought a side 130 for my girlfriend for Christmas and wanted to set up today.

But I just can't get into the BIOS! I keep on pressing F1 during the startup Lenovo screen.

I have pressed it several times, he broke down, I even tried with the Fn key. Nothing has worked.

I have been working with and professional support Lenovo (and IBM) laptops for more than 10 years and not once I had such a problem. It is only the second E-series phone I've ever had. I bought myself an E525 last summer and had no such problems and to work, we have T, X and W-series.

Am I missing something? Am I too old? :-D

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanx

The twist, I completely power down the laptop - meaning, hold the button for 5 seconds (the closure of normal windows will not suffice).

Then, when you turn it back on and see the Lenovo logo for the first time, you should see the message "press on enter to interrupt Boot", press ENTER, and then you will get a menu of options, one being to enter the bios.

  • Can't get into Bios after you enable the sata port

    Hello community,

I have an Optiplex 755 and added a second hard drive.

In bios the sata 2 and 3 ports have been disabled, I enabled both because I know not didn t on the port of witch the new drive has been connected.

After a reboot the system stuck on ' Drive 3 not found: Serial ATA, sata-3.

When I disconnect the new drive, I get the above message for 2 and 3 of the road car!

I can only power the system off, the keyboard is not working at the moment. After a reboot, I can select F2 or F12, but the system will be blocked with the same error.

I tried a third device to the port missing but then there is no error message, but there is only a black screen with a blinking cursor. No chance to get into the bios setup.

The version of the bios is A08.

    Can someone help me please.

    Hi Andreas,

Thank you for compensation for me!

What may help is to reset the BIOS. To do this, you must follow the steps detailed here: ftp.dell.com/.../optiplex-755_user%27s%20guide_en-us.pdf (search for clearing the CMOS settings).

Before the passage of the system back on, make sure that the system is in its state of origin (the original hard drive and optical drive). This can allow you to start the operating system successfully and access the configuration of the system as well.

Let me know how you go!
