  AirPrint does not support black ink only printing, however the HP ePrint app allows it.

  Note that the option is available only for documents (for example Office, PDF, Web pages and emails files), but not for the Photo files.

  You don't need to download apps or SW to print from your iPad. There are actually two ways to print from your iPad: use ePrint or on a local network using Airprint wireless.

  To use ePrint, you would find your email address printers by enabling Web Services on the front of the printer and sending an email to this address of the printer print your message and/or attachments included

  To use Airprint, you make sure that your printer and iPad are connected to the same wireless network and that your iPad a iOS Version 4.2 or later and use the print function integrated included on the iPad software. You can print from an application, Mail, Safari and pictures in this way.

  You may need to perform an update of product make sure airprint works.

  The log file indicates that the Distiller cannot find fonts and besides, fonts with very weird names. (These names can often appear when printing from an application, WPF such as Internet Explorer 9, 10 or 11.)

  My best guess is that the problem is with the options set for the PostScript of PDF from Adobe printer driver instance. Exit the application you were initially impression since. Open the Adobe PDF printer Properties . Then click the Advanced tab. Then click on the button default printing . This should produce a significant window default print Adobe PDF is already opened in the Adobe PDF settings tab. On this tab, there is a checkbox to rely on system only fonts; do not use fonts in the document. If this box is checked, uncheck it and press apply , then OK. Then go to the general tab and press the button Preferences giving the window entitled Adobe PDF printing preferences. Again once, look for the box to rely on system only fonts; do not use document fonts. If this box is checked, uncheck it and press apply , then OK. Then back in the Adobe PDF Properties dialog box main, press apply (if it is enabled), and then click OK. Re-enter the app you were original print and try to print again. Let us know if that fixes the problem.

  PS: Unfortunately, rely on fonts system only turned on by default, causing problems for many applications. I always recommend turning it off (i.e., unchecking it)!

  It seems that this model is not compatible AirPrint, but you should be able to use the hp eprint app to print wireless from your ipad - download the application and make sure that your printer and your ipad are connected to the same wifi network.   OK, so you were talking about requiring the update.  It is difficult to say that all depends on if it came with the new firmware or not.  It is not really relevant, however, because it will be updated as soon as Web Services.  This process takes a few minutes.  There is no computer necessary for the update of the firmware as long as the printer has internet access (which is directly connected to a router via ethernet or wireless).  Yes, a connection ad hoc, you will be able to print from the iPad, but you can use its 3 G connection instead of through your router.  It can only support a single WiFi also.  Go ahead and set up the printer and keep me posted on what happens.

  Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that when I try to print from your iPad using Apple's AirPrint feature that you have found an error output of paper for the printer Photosmart 6520.

  I suspect that you are right and the AirPrint feature is that the document is printed as an image file, so it's like a photo manipulation. I have included document Basics AirPrint from Apple. For any additional consultation, I've also included HP How to use Apple AirPrint on a wireless network.

  If you want more that what is available with Apple's AirPrint printing options, you can use the application Mobile HP ePrint. I've included the HP ePrint Mobile App FAQ document.
