How do I "pin" icon in my taskbar?

I can't work out how to pin the icon of security of microsoft for my taskbar.

The taskbar has two areas. The right is the area of 'Notification '. To pin shortcuts to some
This area, I think that the program must have an option to do so in its settings.

The first option to pin on the left side of the taskbar is not always available, but
This is achieved by R / click on the shortcut and select "Pin to Taskbar" in the context menu.

Another option to pin a shortcut to the taskbar is to R / click on the taskbar and,.
If the option "Lock the taskbar" has a tick mark next to it, select this setting to unlock the taskbar
(clears the tick mark).
You should then be able to drag a shortcut to the taskbar from the desktop
It is in the taskbar.

When a folder is dragged to the taskbar it will be pinned to the Windows Explorer
R / click on jump list.
I think that you can have a maximum of only 11 shortcuts on the WE jump list
(unless I missed a setting to make the longer list).

You can also control panel pin items to the Control Panel icon in the taskbar by
a shortcut and drag it from the desktop to the CP icon on the taskbar.

  • How to add sounds to the light icons in the taskbar when events happening?

    Well, my question is maybe very simple, I hope I can get help here, I ve been wondering how to make the icons on the taskbar sound when something happens for example when you receive a message 'Skype', the light of the task bar, but in my case they do not all sound the answer to that might be in the Skype settings, but, I want is doing the actual windows to make a sound to tell me something that is happening there, and of course I can chose the sound of that.

    the example of "Skype" might not be the best here, lets say another software, when is reduced and something happens, call your attention to the icon in the taskbar with start to glow, but sometimes I'm in another place, or looking for another way I could not miss this event in this software need my immediately attention with sound, I could turn on my loud speakers so I will be heard.

    Thank you

    Hello Derwyn,

    Thank you for your response.

    I appreciate your time and your concern.

    Unfortunately, the desired Windows sound is not included in the Windows sound scheme.

    However, in the article in the previous post on changing the sounds of the computer, you can see under the heading 'Windows Explorer' under the window 'events of the program'inside'sound'. You can find the other sounds of Windows Explorer as blocked pop-up navigation block, empty, trash, move menu items and so on.

    Thank you

  • Firefox creates the new icon from the taskbar when already pins. How to return to activate the pinned icon?

    After the 4.0.1 update, Windows now creates a new icon in the taskbar instead of activate one who is already pinned there. This does not happen on other computers I've used.

  • How can I pin the desktop icon in the taskbar

    Before I bought my new computer with windows 8, I used to have the desktop icon in my taskbar (very useful for when I have a lot of windows open at the same time and need to access the icons on my desktop).  I would click on the desktop icon in the taskbar and hey presto all other open windows minimize all without the need to reduce to a minimum to each of them individually. Ideal for quick hide all open files!  However, I can't figure out how to get the desktop icon in my taskbar in windows 8.  Can anyone help?

    Windows key + M does the same thing. Also move the mouse to the lower right of the task bar is also.

  • How to restore the icon of internet explore on my taskbar?

    I accidentally deleted the icon of internet explorer on my taskbar. I tried to restore my system to an earlier time, and then the icon appeared. But when I clicked it, a box pops up saying internet explore has been renamed, moved or deleted. Now, I can't figure out how to get this return of the icon and an icon that works. Detach the taskbar item. Open IE, right-click on its icon in the taskbar and select Pin this program to the taskbar.

  • How can I change the spacing between icons in the taskbar?

    I have a small screen laptop.  Because I want a decent number of programs in my taskbar for easy access, I chose the small icons and no names, etc.  However, the icons of small programs (when not in use) are spaced so far that there is little room to spare.  New programs quickly cause Group and are difficult to manage.

    Why is Microsoft put so much empty space between the small icons unopened?  It's wasted space.

    More important still, how to shrink the space between icons?  On Vista and XP, you could drag the icons to manage your space.  How do I do this with Windows 7?

    Thank you!

    Just after I posted that space is really needed, I found the answer who asked the original question.

    You can change the space between icons (really the size of the buttons) by changing the size of "Buttons" in the window color and appearance. The default on my version of Windows (2008 R2) was 18 years old. When I set it down to the size buttons for the GET pinned icons smaller and thus the icons closer together.

    I don't know if the path is the same in Win7, but in 2008 R2, you right-click on the desktop and select Personalize. Then click on the color button of the window (at the bottom of the window). The dialog box that appears should be titled 'window color and appearance '. In the drop-down list item, select the caption buttons and adjust the size to change the distance between the icons.

    I've only tried a couple of sizes too so setting can cause problems. Once you apply, you will need to right click on the desktop and do a Refresh or even logoff and back on again.

  • How to choose an icon for a pinned tab?

    I created a two pinned tabs. We have a very generic icon and the other has no icon. How to choose an icon for the pinned tabs? Can it be done? Using a hack is fine too.

    You can probably do it with the code in the userChrome.css file.

    Here is an example that works for Gmail.

    Add code to the file userChrome.css below default @namespace.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #tabbrowser-tabs .tabbrowser-tab[pinned][label^="Gmail"] .tab-icon-image {
     list-style-image: url("https://ssl.gstatic.com/ui/v1/icons/mail/images/favicon5.ico") !important;
    }

    The file userChrome.css (UI) customization and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the folder of chrome in the Firefox profile folder.
