• How do scan you a PDF, jpg or png on the M127fw?

  I just bought the M127fw and I can't understand how scanning to a PDF file or other file type: .jpg, .png, etc.. The front buffer on the poster printer only copy, fax and applications. The printer box comes in says it's also a scanner. Do I have to install something on my computer to scan to a file .jpg or other type of file?

  I have a 64 bit HP with a Western Digital drive.  I am running Windows 7 and using the technologies of Iolo System Mechanic 10.5.  When you run the deep analysis SM 10.5 I am constantly getting a report that "your system (C) drive has 152 009 misaligned (30,26 GB) files.  If the system is set to Auto Mode a diskchk is run and no errors or bad sectors are reported.  The 10,5 SM reports the problem is fixed, but it reappears within 24 hours.  In general, I know that this is caused by the way the drive is formatted and the inconsistancies in layers (index etc.).  I think I need to do a full backup and reformat the drive.  Given a 64-bit system the length of the area is 4096 bits (64 ^ 2).  I assumed that the compensation should be set at 63.  Is the proposed solution, how to solve the problem and if it is what are the right setting to repartition the drive?  There is no question, but the lack of alignment, if not corrected does not cause a degradation in performance.  Whenever I go to Microsoft Questions and answers I continue to receive information about 'blue screen' no use that I can see.

  It seems to me that Microsoft should have something published to deal with this situation, but I continue to find references to the problem on Microsoft Servers and not the current version of Windows 7.  I think that it is a variant of the same problem, but there is no solution listed that is specific to Windows 7.  It's also frustrating when you look at all the players (it's an HP computer with an installed version of Windows 7, in this case, it means do not call Microsoft because they see it as a problem of HP;) The drive is a Western Digital, but it is installed by HP and if there is something unique about the hardware/firmware by the seller, this means don't call me.  The proplem is identified by Iolo Technologies System Mechanic and I find it almost impossible to contenct them.  Go to a community of experts is a wonderful way to collect information, but I really think that we need a law for the Protection of computer consumers indicating that if you can't get a solution within 7 days you get back the money.

  You will need to have a scanner that can do the optical recognition of characters.  even then, it probably does not too well.  I'd look for an online application, sometimes they post them in a .pdf file that you can type and print.

  Read the Note about the maximum memory to the page linked so you will not be disappointed if you go out and buy more memory.  The actual amount of RAM reported by Windows XP, when there is physically installed 4 GB will be probably about 3.2 GB or more.  The exact amount will depend of various hardware devices installed on your computer use a part of the "memory address space" even if they do not use real RAM.

  2. Select settings for scanning and then Scan to... Setup

  3. delete the shortcuts on the right side

  4. click on the device to update, and then close the scan window

  5. open again the scan window

  6. add shortcuts on the left side to the right side

  7. click on the device to update

  8. try scan from the front panel of the printer
