• How do the package ImageMagick binary?

  My plugin uses ImageMagick convert and, rather than hassle with the download themselves users, I would like to package it with the plugin. It seems simple for Windows since IM provides versions of convert.exe. OSX is not so clear, as IM suggests that building from source. I'm not going to ask users to use Homebrew if I can avoid it, and I don't want to give my own construction. Some advice from people here on what they have done to the IM package tools?

  My file any plugin uses ImageMagick "composite" program, and it is included in the plugin distribution, for the reasons you describe.  It was painful enough for me, not being is not a programmer of Mac, to understand how to build ImageMagick without libraries shared, as well as "composite" was completely autonomous.  Here are my notes on how to do it:

  1. Download ImageMagick.tar.gz distribution to /Users/John.  Unpack it by
  doing:
      cd /Users/John
      tar xvfz ImageMagick.tar.gz
  See http://www.imagemagick.org/script/advanced-unix-installation.php
  2. Download the jpegsrc.tar.gz library from:
      http://www.imagemagick.org/download/delegates/
  to /Users/John/ImageMagick and unpack it with:
      cd /Users/John/ImageMagick
      tar xvfz jpegsrc.tar.gz
      mv jpegsrc jpeg
  3. Configure and build the jpeg library:
      cd jpeg
      ./configure --disable-shared
      make clean; make
  4. Download the libpng.tar.gz library from:
      http://www.imagemagick.org/download/delegates/
  to /Users/John/ImageMagick and unpack it with:
      cd /Users/John/ImageMagick
      tar xvfz libpng.tar.gz
      mv libpng png
  5. Configure and build the png library:
      cd png
      ./configure --disable-shared
      make clean; make
  6. Configure and build ImageMagick; copy configure.sh to ImageMagick
  folder and do:
      cd /Users/John/ImageMagick
      sh configure.sh
      make clean; make
  7. Verify that composite is only loading dynamic libraries from /System and /usr/lib:
      otool -L utilities/composite
  7. Copy utilities/composite and config/delegates.xml to anyfile.lrdevplugin.

• Yet another question: How do the update of Windows (Windows 7)

  My Dell laptop running Win7 fine until recently when the WU stop working, which seems to be a very common problem.   After many, many hours to try dozens of fixes, I gave him room and upgraded to Win10.  After discovering that Cortana (surprisingly) cannot be uninstalled and uses massive memory resources, I have reinstalled Win7 from the original dvd.    Window update still doesn't work, but I downloaded a 'stand-alone' Windows Update version and it worked.  Downloaded and installed updates 225, but subsequently of course, Win Update does still not work.   It just displays a message that updates are downloaded, but nothing else happens (several hours).   I tried Fixit kb971058, and it is also just here for hours.

  I used Windows since 3.0 and with each major release, maintainability got progressively more difficult.

  I don't know how Win Update might have gotten this done but has hundreds of discussions on the issue on the forums, etc, I think maybe that Win7 is now a lost cause and it's time to switch to Linux?

  With Windows 8, Microsoft changed stickers that have the product key that the user must type in during the installation of the operating system of new embedded BIOS product key. • Do not uninstall the language on Windows 7 Ultimate pack

  I tried to upgrade to Windows 8 (my upgrade key is just for Windows 8, not Windows 8.1), but then it stops on a message windows Explorer (Yes, instead of display in the install window, it appears on IE which does not help me much) saying I can't go further if I uninstall all first language packs.

  So I did, but the Korean language pack fails to uninstall. It's the final result:

  I can't do a clean install on this system, this is why I really need to find a way to do it.

  I cannot even delete all files. If I could just 'put' all information registry for "Absent" again for this Korean package would be nice.

  OK, I found the solution and finally managed to remove the language pack and also install Windows 8! :)

  The CBS.log newspaper above, I decided to intentionally remove the file that was put to fire the error "Access denied". Then rerun the uninstallation, another file pulled the same mistake... but the CBS.log newspaper accused the first file is not found, so it would be completely ignored the "restoration" of the package file.

  So I realized that it was the uninstall was done: trying to do a "System Restore" 2 years ago. The file may be corrupted or would be too old for this... anyway, it doesn't matter. Since I knew he was trying to restore, I ran the Windows system cleaning and remove EVERYTHING, including the restore points "Service Packs" (by the way, that made me almost 7 GB of extra space!).

  Then I restarted the computer and was able to remove the package!

  • I tried setup.exe /?, and setup.exe -?, and the installation continues straight on the pilot of c: (small SSD drive; need to install on the 1 TB SATA drive on the HP workstation).
  • I looked for the MSI command line options, and there is not to change the installation location.

  There is a post somewhere that explains it?  I had no luck with my research in the forums on the web.

  When the "Specify the deployment directory" configuration is selected then you may need to use a deployment tool to deploy this package and need to call for the installation .msi.

  I hope that under Microsoft section can help. It has all the command line to install msi.

  Is there an SP4 or a package that contains all of the updates of Windows XP after SP3 is released?  It would be extremely useful to update all of the XP machines that do not have access to the internet.

  Hope this helps, they recommend you to read the info from the beginning. With files and information, you can create an ISO file that can be used to create a version of XP from microsoft that you can use in the future. I do not recommend to use a good firewall and antivirus program to protect your system like back up your system regularly.
