How many CD/DVD or USB drives do need to backup my files

I tried to do a full backup of my files, only to be tuyanteries outside after 10 CD then how many cd or DVD make. Since I got this labtop

I never properly backed up my files.  For now, I get a message in the Panel this Windows backup is in need of a cd, dvd or usb to continue. All I want to do is a successful backup.

Hello

1. what version of Windows you are using on the computer?

2. don't you get this message when creating a backup or this message keeps popping up even when you are not trying to create a backup?

3 does the backup work correctly if you are backing up to a local drive or external hard drive?

You may receive this error message because the backup is not contested, it always depends on the total size of the backup files. I suggest using any external hard drive for backup windows and check if the problem persists.

    Hello Joe

    I saw in some your previous assignments that you use external DVD drive too.

    I use my Tecra with Replicator port and a multi LG external DL disk attached to the port replicator (due to the fast data transfer firewire connection). Everything works fine and I wonder how you can have all of these problems.

    If your device is set up correctly, including all the original drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba download page should not have any problem. I hope that you have installed the unit without port replicator and you don t forget Mobile extension tool. As much as I know there is no driver for Replicator port and all the signals are loop just to the ports of the replicaror port.

  • How to make a portable USB drive use the same drive letter all the time

    Original title:

    I have many removable hard drives from Toshiba.  Use them for photography.  I usually connect simply, transfer photos from the DSLR camera (images raw, very big, not a camera point/rod).  When I plug in, computer automatically selects a player... F, g, H: by M or N.

    Then, I use Adobe Lightroom for adjustments.  Once they are imported into Lightroom it keeps track of this record, they were on.

    PROBLEM:

    If I unplug the removable hard drive, plug in at a later date, computer can randomly choose a different example M instead of H letter.
    LightRoom is so impossible to find photos/images.  I would then have to re - import and start any setting completely from the beginning.

    Question:
    How to direct the computer to select the same drive when I plug in a removable hard drive.

    Plug in a hard drive removable, computer selects H:, can I import into LightRoom, I disconnect the removable hard drive, a week later I want to make adjustments more photography, connect the removable hard drive and FORCE/DIRECT COMPUTER TO SELECT H: AGAIN (or whatever of the original letter was).

    Hope it makes sense.

    Hello

    There is a way to assign a static drive on an external USB drive letter, so you always get the same drive letter for the drive.

    Click on the following link and follow the steps to change a drive letter.

    Hello

    On Linux systems, you are able to read the NTFS file, it should work without problem.

    If you want to write data to an NTFS drive, you need a driver.

  • How many times we can compress drive to save disk space

    * Original title: when you "compress this drive to save disk space"... ('C' properties, general tab... {Computer, properties of 'C'}

    is it a one time thing... or you can do it later? .... If so, how, exactly? Looks like I checked this box once before on another computer, then later, there's nothing to check... Please explain.

    Thank you.

    Windows 7 Home Premium

    Defragmenting a disk or file and compressing a disk or a file, are different processes. If you choose to compress a drive, it is from a service that is then configured to run whenever Windows is running. This service will compress the data 'on the fly' so that it will take less disk space (IE it has drive lower cost). And decompress it 'on the fly' when the read data is the queries executed.

    Therefore, the disk compression on or active, it's on. It cannot be activated twice.

    Disk defragmentation is something different. The details can become complex, but the idea is simple. When operating, it reorganizes the data on the drive so that it is each file with all togrether and in order (as much as possible). Also, frequently used files can be placed on the disk where they can access quickly. Thus, System defrag schedules to make time - to-time, when the system is not otherwise busy.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to replace a laptop HARD drive and restore the backup without a Vista startup disk?

    Hello

    I need to replace the drive HARD internal of my laptop and have a picture of it, created using the backup feature in Vista, on an external USB HDD. However, I've upgraded to Vista XP via a download online and don't have a Vista disc.

    How can I create a Vista startup disk that will give access to the backup/restore function, which allowed me to restore my backup to the new HARD disk image once I did the replacement? And is there anything else I forget?

    Thanks in advance!

    Mike

    You can borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    It is General info how to make a Vista startup repair disk:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    See you soon.
