How read information calculate the number of bytes in a megabyte?

I was under the impression that 1 MB = 1024 KB = 1048676 bytes, but when I use Get Info to check the video file size I see numbers like "473,9 MB on disk (473,910,856 bytes).  Get Info uses a different method, where 1 MB = 1000000 bytes?

The prefix mega (decimal) was always 1000 x 1000, although when memory sizes were still quite small it was also used as a binary prefix.  The prefix (binary) mebi (1024 x 1024) has been around for awhile and is used more often these days, because there may be a significant difference in the review of larger sizes of memory - see http://physics.nist.gov/cuu/Units/binary.html.  The window read the information shows the size in megabytes, since that's what most hard disk manufacturers use.

  • VISA read where you don't know the number of bytes?

    I work with a VISA resource via the USB port that reads in the results of printf (% lu % TSP %d)) of a microcontroller. These results are as ASCII numbers, their length in bytes is unknown. Numbers * should * be not more than 3 digits, but I can't know that for sure. Reading VISA won't let me the number of bytes unwired, so should I join just a high constant let him? Or is there a better way?

    1. do you have the microcontroller send a character to end of line (0xA on the ASCII table) at the end of the printf.

    2. turn the stop of the session VISA character and the value it is 0xA.  You may need to perform this task via the VISA property node.

    3. playback VISA to read more bytes than you tell never expect to get.  VISA playback will stop reading when it detects the termination character (End Of Line).

  • The number of bytes is the data type of "pixel"?

    I'm relatively new to use Pixel Bender to process audio data, so I'm sorry for my lack of understanding of what follows.

    I had a question about the data types 'pixel' and 'image' Pixel Bender.

    I'm trying to understand code Kevin Goldsmith has written for his mixer 2 channels of audio and there seems to be a gap between the amount of data sent to the shader of PB, and the amount received when the buffer is sent to her for treatment.

    Here is the link to the code:

    http://blogs.Adobe.com/Kevin.Goldsmith/2009/08/pixel_bender_au.html

    At the top of the code, it says a "BUFFER" of 2048 constant:

    private public static var Buffer_size : uint = 0 x 800;

    Then, in the processSound() function, he implemented an byteArray with a size of 16 384 bytes:

    shaderBuffer. length = BUFFER_SIZE * 2 * 4;     <---(échantillons stéréo 2048 * 2 * 4 octets/échantillon)

    However, I am confused about the part where it defines a hypothetical image and sends the data to the shader:

    effectShader. data ["source"] . width = BUFFER_SIZE / 1024;     <---(2048 / 1024 = 2)

    effectShader. data ["source"] . height = 512 ;

    From the code above, one can easily see that the size of the image is only 1024 "pixel" (2 * 512), and on the receiving end there is a "image.4" of variable entry expected to receive.  So far, I was under the assumption that a data type "image4" consists of a variable amount of pixels (determined by the size of the image that is food inside), each composed of 4 layers of color of 1 byte.  In this logic, each pixel in a data type "image4" should consist of 4 bytes.  Now, let's do the math: 4 bytes * 1024 pixels = 4096.

    4096 is not equal to 16 384!

    How can feed you a 16 384 'byteArray' bytes in a variable "image4" of 4096 bytes?

    I'm sorry to seem presumptuous to the explanation above, but I can not understand what is happening here!

    The number of bytes is a 'pixel' in PB?  He holds float or integer values or both?

    I've scoured the web to find these answers, but nothing helps!  Maybe I'm off the mark with my current understanding of the pixels and images in PB, but I need to understand this before I can move with the application that I do.

    I am very grateful of any advice or information that someone can give.

    Thank you

    Matt

    This is the Pixel Bender Language Reference:

    "pixel1: represents the value of a single channel of an image." The name distinguishes this
    single element pixel of a pixel which contains several channels. The pixel values are
    considered as 32-bit floating-point numbers. »

    32 bits = 4 bytes

    If a channel is four bytes rather than that you have accessed. If this should explain the difference.

  • Calculate the number of days remaining until the next anniversary. Help, please!

    Hi guys,.

    I'm new to the forum and to the development of BB. So please do not judge harshly if the answer to my question seems obvious.

    I need to calculate the number of days until the next birthday (taking into account any valid birth date)

    After looking at the API and the forum search, I realized that I could

    calculate the difference between two dates in milliseconds and then divide the delta of the value of a day in milliseconds. That is to say:

    birthdayCalendar.set (Calendar.YEAR, those);

    Date1 = birthdayCalendar.getTime () .getTime ();

    date2 = System.currentTimeMillis ();

    Delta = date1 - date2

    numOfDays = delta\DateTimeUtilities.ONEDAY

    Here's my question. How do I create a valid date1 what about leap years?

    Maybe there's a better way to solve this problem?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I agree that the determination of the number of days between today and Feb. 29 could be a little difficult, if it is not a leap year.  I suspect that the calendar has a certain built-in mechanism to compensate for this, but your solution to choose a date is better.

    DST has a role to play, and Yes, the calendar makes up for it.  Let us take two dates, for example (before DST) March 1 and June 1 (after the DST).  If you take a calendar and set the same hour, minute, etc., they are all the same except for dates, then subtract one from the other, and then divide by the number of milliseconds in 1 hour, you calculate the number of hours between the same time on two different days.  You will find that it is not a multiple of 24 hours - because there is actually an hour less than the number of days since the clocks move forward (in the northern hemisphere anyway...),

    In your case, you are not calculating the number of hours, you calculate the number of days.  But you will be dividing by [24 * (time in an hour)].  If you take [23 * (time in an hour)] and divide it by [24 * (time in an hour)], using arithmetic on integers, you will end up 0.  The easiest to get around this, who also works for the end of the DST too, is to simply add one hour to the date before the division.

    Hope that makes sense...

    It is a type of associative array definition. A table has no columns. It is a collection of elements (variables or values). An array location is usually called a cell.

    The standard method Count() exist in Oracle for all table types.

    As for the definition of the table, as in structures, variables make the table contain - associative array is defined in the PL/SQL code and does not exist in the layer of metadata to the database as a new user-defined type. For the definition, you must read the declaration of PL/SQL defining the table.

    Note that there is very rarely the need for associative tables in PL/SQL - 99% of the time they are used without any idea as to what as a table associative is also.

    Several turncate the decimal values scirpts because keeping them may not meet the need of specific calculation. You know that there are methods to roud until the next iniger, round.5 to the top and turnacate to the lower intiger.

    According to the date of departure, the values may be different:

    For a start date of February 1, 2000, 75 days would be 1,810 months but for a start date of 1 February 2001 75 days becomes 1,838 since the number of days of changes of February 29 to 28 and the number of days for the month of fractions varies from 26 to 27.

  • calculate the number of minutes

    Hello citizens of oracle,

    I have a situation where I have to calculate the number of minutes took to run the package. I've seen proc_log that will give me proc_name (give me the name of the proc), START_DT (which gives the time when the process began exactly) and EXEC_TIME (gives having plenty of time each process taken in minutes and seconds). So I need to make the sum of the column EXEC_TIME. Please help me how to do this.

    Thanks for the help.

    Sam

    So, how do you intend to group on a varchar2 column? Can you change the view to the EXEC_TIME in an interval instead? Is even more logical design-wise.

    Please post some examples of data so I can get an idea of the format for the varchar2 column.  Want to most likely to convert it to an interval to summarize time exec, or converting varchar2 int to exec_time in a few seconds, then convert minutes to maintain granularity.

    NM, I see here the format, you are def going to need to set this view if you want to match the runtime.

    You are with your format makes it incredibly hard perform such an easy task. Change this EXEC_TIME column in the view to an int of total of seconds or milliseconds of delay of performance or do this column, an INTERVAL DAY TO SECOND data type. Once you do this, you can do a 'SELECT sum (exec_time) FROM WHERE XX... »

    I have an iPhone 6 and use Verizon as my server. How can I increase the number of rings until it go to voicemail?

    You can not. There is no adjustment to make on a phone. In fact, it is not based on the number of rings, it is a problem of synchronization based on the parameters of the call. You can contact Verizon to see if they can increase at that time here, but even if they can, it won't be much, only a few seconds if they do at all.
