How reinstall individual programs and users accounts after recovery of Windows 7?

Hello

I have Windows 7 Home Premium. I have problems, have tried all the options and want to do a recovery system of the C: drive as a last resort before taking the computer home.

I used the Backup and Restore to back up my C: drive as a whole (including the image of the system in case where something goes wrong) on an external drive, but I've never used, backup and restore. I'm not sure if she actually re - installed programs or just moves them. I don't have a disk for my suite Office 2007 so I can't reinstall it it will be lost (unless I used the image of the system, of course).

Can you tell me if yes or no backup and restore will actually reinstall Office, and if so, how do I do?

Also, I have 2 user accounts on the computer. Can back up and restore reinstall all the accounts of individual users?

Thank you for your time.

The new computer will come with Windows (for example, Win10) preinstalled?

Remarks/comments:

  • A restore an image.
  • An image created on the computer may not be fully compatible with computer B A.
  • The only way to do a clean install of an application is using the original installation media (unless the application is preinstalled on the computer in question).

    Hi Eric,.

Chances are, something happened during the recovery process that prevents you from downloading something on the internet. One of the most common reasons for this is that the security settings are set too high. See the link below to learn how to change the security settings.

  • lost user account after using the windows recovery disk.

Help, please. I turned on my computer and found that windows vista could not start due to a currupt file.

I have tried rebooting several times without success and ended by using the samsung recovery disc to get windows vista to work.

I had to create a new user account and have been able to find my original account on the C drive but don't know how to restore it so I don't have start with a new account from scratch.

    Any help is appreciated.

Information, the original version of windows is now called windows.old and it is here that I want to use the user account.

    Hi Geek teenager,

Surly there is a way to restore the user account that is sitting in windows.old on the C: drive, instead of having to reinstall all the programs that I never downloaded?

Programs need to be reinstalled from the original media: CD, DVD, download, etc.

You can recover data from the windows.old folder, but not programs.

  • How to keep a locked user account after Idle

My current workplace just upgraded to Windows 7 for most of our computers from the workspace, and with computers communial there is now a problem where if a user doesn't log out and leave the computer hangs on their account on the login screen from which allows us to change user. Hard reboot the computer it unlocks and allows to change username, but given that some of the computer towers are located in other areas at the office, it can be irritating. What are the settings we have to change in order to prevent computers snaps and instead of us giving the ability to simply change user if someone forgets to sign out?

  • How to schedule defragment under user account?

I would like to know how to plan defragment under user account.

When I run defrag under user account, it asks for the admin password.

Is there any approach to ignore this application process for "password" and set the schedule to run defrag directly?

    Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions

    Planned measures:

Would this scheduled task runs under the admin account? even through I connect using the user account and Defrag runs in the background under admin account.  Wouldn't be corrected interpretation? -

-Yes, that's correct - you are connected as a standard user but defrag makes use of the Admin account.

    Action tab

It would be correct choose the suite file?

No - I don't know why you keep reference C:\defrag.bat when it enter task scheduler

    Program/script %windir%\system32\defrag.exe

    Add arguments to C:

does the work.  In addition, Windows treats the batch, named Windows utilities files very strangely so you should never use same name as a Windows utility.  In this case, I think that Windows work defrag.exe instead of your batch file, so all the arguments written in the batch file will be ignored. Just put in place Task Scheduler I did and forget about using a batch file.

You can tell that the task is running by looking at the Task Manager, Services, defragsvc.  If the task is running then this service will run also [and service you keep saying that it runs for 5-10 minutes after the task finishes].

You can view the results by opening the Disk Defragmenter [C:\Windows\System32\dfrgui.exe] and it will show you the last time a defrag activity took place and the last reported State of fragmentation [i.e. the fragmentation status when the task is over].

[Note that Disk Defragmenter to opening also sets the Task Manager, Services and defragsvc to say that it's running , so this can be confusing - service is not the thing, take any measure and just open Disk Defragmenter initiates any defrag action].

  • How can I recover my data of user account after a Hadsruda! Bit Trojan horse destroyed a little bit it?

So I recently discovered a hadsruda! little Trojan on my laptop. I have it removed but I was too late. The virus has corrupted somehow my user account and I can access is no longer any data associated with this account. It's mostly because my account that was destroyed was the only administrator account on my laptop (there is another standard user, but I can't access or do something about it).

Is there a way to retrieve the data from this account? I see that it's there when I'm looking for specific files, but when I try to open the location of the file, it gives a message that the location does not exist. The data are still too much space on my hard drive so I guess that it is not completely lost. Help would be very appreciated.

As it can be user accounts data has been corrupted, or the system files, which results in the account being unusable, you can try to repair corrupted data or system files and see if you can access the account again later.

To perform an action of repair on possible corrupt system files, follow these steps:

1: Make sure that the computer is connected to the internet. If you can not access the Wifi connections, plug in ethernet cable.

2: run a commandprompt, to write and run this command: sfc/scannow

Let it finish, then restart your computer.

How you can run this command on command prompt (start > run > "cmd" or start > search for cmd) depends on how accessible your OS windows is still, for example you can always use the other user account?

If not, maybe try to run the sfc/scannow command by using the safe mode (see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 for instructions) commandprompt from there, like safe mode can still be able to boot. If you use the SafeMode however, verify that you use the additional option to "Safe Mode with command prompt" instead of regular safe mode.

These steps can recover your user account to the service. If those who do not resolve it, you cannot run or you're just looking for files / important data recovery, try using a recovery software tool or boot-level file Explorer. It may be in the form of a disk or CD containing the software to explore all the files from hard drive, so you can move or copy them to the user account or the Windows installation corrupted.

I always use 1 multifunctional tool to do this called Hiren Boot CD, this software package contains a lot of explorers of disk or file. Tie just a backup drive or media to your PC, burn this CD Hiren after downloading http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ and then choose a (temporary) boot option or a CD at startup, and before the Windows logo comes. You will see tools contained on the boot CD, in the categories; Use either to programs back, drive hard/storage, backup, restore to find a file Explorer/mover in there and run.

  • "Reactivate" a former user account after reinstall OS?

My PC Windows XP has a Blue Screen of Death. 'Page Fault' suggests a hardware problem, so I brought a repairman. They finally diagnosed a problem with my second HD internal (like D:, E:, the DVD player). However, in doing so, they thought it would help to reinstall the operating system. They have created a new user account called "owner"; now, my old user account, "My Name", is therefore more accessible. I see the 'Documents and Settings' folder, and there all the files before reinstalling the OS, but still create a new user account with this name does not access this folder; It creates a new user account with the name of the computer added to 'My Name' and an empty account. How "reactivate" my old account, "My Name", to restore all its parameters, hopefully including record of applications, etc. ? Thank you.
