How remove "improved new tab" is the substitution of my settings

After latest updates my PC my new tab button opens does not improved new tab by clicking the gear icon and change the settings. Just open up a blank page. If I pin google then I have a minnie google page appear and then click on that to open google. I have my topic: config page set to go straight to google when I opened a new tab, but these settings do not work anymore. I do not appreciate mozilla change my settings without my consent. If I wanted an application followed my every move and keep a running tally of my most visited sites and then have to inform me of that information every time I open a new tab then I would have installed such an application. When I click on the sign more to open a new tab, I expect to open up the web page of google I set it to open at no other fanfare.

In Firefox pref browser.newtab.url 41 disappeared. This pref was abused by malware so frequently that Mozilla has decided to remove this pref to eliminate this kind of diversion.
You will need an extension like this one to restore.
https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/new-tab-override/

Or to have your home page as the new tab page, try this extension.
https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/new-tab-homepage/

If you are using Classic theme restaurateur, go in the CTR options > tabs (1) article and set your preference for the new tab URL here.

For Super Start , you can use the topic: superstart page.

I think the following quote, below, for help on the page is my problem.

I have a site that I use when I click on a link in the Web site it opens a new window with the tab down. In addition, when this happens, I lose the orange rectangle FireFox, bookmarks and navigation options. How can I define FF31 so that the link opens in a new tab, and I keep all my options? I have two laptops and both are running FF31 and W7. One of them works perfectly and the other is having this problem. As far as I can tell they are both defined by the same. The only difference is that when I upgraded to FF31 they both had difference older versions of FireFox. I also read in the help forum that maybe I need to go back to FireFox 28 to accomplish what I am trying to accomplish.

I noticed that when I'm going under: config that the version of FF that does not work unless options compared to the version that works. An example would be that the working version has 'browser.tabs.onTop' where, on the other computer laptop is missing.

Note: If you have chosen to open pages in new tabs, Firefox will ignore this option and opens a new window from a link if the page author specified that the new window must have a specific size, because some pages cannot be displayed correctly to a specific size. < < <

You can override how the links are opened through the browser.link.open_newwindow.override preference.

Use it for links opened via JavaScript.

For links in pages, or bookmarks, in addition to the context menu, you can use these methods to open a link in a new tab:

    • CTRL + click (hold down the CTRL key and click on the link)
    • Middle-click (use the scroll of your mouse wheel click the link)

If you type a URL in the address bar and you want to open in a new tab, you can:

    • Hold down the ALT key and press enter
    • CTRL + click the 'go' at the end of the address bar

By opening a new tab, the default tab opens to thumbnails based on recent history. The Safari, I want the new tab to open * to the same page, as was active when command-T was hit *. What are the specific actions, to set the default value (preference), new pages to open 'same page '? ('Same page' is check in Safari preferences box).

Note, I've sailed available Support of Mozilla and using about: config have reset browser.newtab.url so that the new tab appears empty (stop followed recent history for this purpose).

However, I would like to define this as a preference permanent and would ask someone give me a solution. Cheers, teacher

You can't, that's why I suggested the modules above. There is no option in the user interface or preferably hidden in Firefox that can duplicate a tab whenever you open a new tab browser.newtab.url can only be set to a fixed address, what address is to be opened in the current tab.

Are the only two built-in methods to duplicate a tab:

    1. Hold down the Option key and drag the tab to a new position on the tab bar.
    2. Hold down the command key and click the reload of the address bar.

You can make feature requests by filing development bug reports or by opening the Help menu by clicking on your comments.

Just went to 7. However he told me that the plugin "new tabs to end ' will not work with it. Upgrade to the most recent plugin, always tells me it won't work.

    Thank you very much

Here is a workaround without need of any add-on:

-> Open Firefox and type Subject: config in the address bar

    • When you see a warning, click I'll be careful, I promise you

-> On the filter bar at the top of the topic: config page, type in browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent

    • preference browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent , click Toggle -> it is now set to False

-> Close Firefox and restart Firefox

Check and tell if its working.

  • Re: v.3.6.10; I couldn't open a new tab or using the icon in the Navigation bar, or the 'new tab' at the end of the Strip to tabs. How can I fix this?

Do a right click on a topic and opening it in a new bar are NOT a problem; a new tab with the new field opens suddenly.

The problem is when I intend to copy and paste a URL into a new tab: I can not open a new tab for this - I need content myself using the current tab, to paste the URL, OR open a new window to paste the URL.

This was not the case in my decade (?) to use Firefox. This is the first time this has happened.

    HELP please.

This problem may be caused by the Ask.com toolbar (Tools > Modules > Extensions)

The details of your system display this toolbar to the user as AskTbFF/3.12.2.16749 agent

  • If I have a small Firefox page I can not open a NEW page. He let me just open a new tab on the reduced page

If I have a small Firefox page I can not open a NEW page. He let me just open a new tab on the reduced page. I used to be able to open a new page in browser icon on my desktop, but for these last days, it won't let me. It is a desktop computer, running Windows 7. Everything is up-to-date.

Hi Deb, it's hard for me to test it personally because I've pinned the shortcut of Firefox to the taskbar, which changes its behavior, and when I remove it, I don't fit my desktop icon. (?!)

Anyway, as a temporary workaround solution while we sort out this point, you can use the 'Skip' list: right click on the Firefox icon in the task bar and choose 'Open a new fenΩtre' that should certainly generate a separate window and not only a new tab in the existing window. Normally works?

Firefox has a hidden setting that you might try to change to see if it makes a difference. Normally, when you open a link in another program, it opens in a new tab in the last window of Firefox, that you used. Your what's doing? I propose changing the setting so that the link must open in a new window to see if it has an impact on this problem.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the filter box, type or paste link.o and make a pause so that the list is filtered.

    (3) double-click the preference browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external and set its value to 2 and click OK.

The possible values for this preference are as follows:

-1 = follow your settings in the Options for new tabs vs new windows (default)
3 = open external links in a new tab in the last active window
2 = open external links in a new window
1 = open external links in the last active tab replaces the current page

There are a few other similar named preferences, so be sure to change one that has 'external' in the name.

    Any difference?
