  I was scanning a handful of documents using the top loading (ADF) on the 8610.  I didn't know that there was a wet ink on a page.  When it is scanned by the shipper, he left a black trail on the scanner.  Now, everything I browse the top loading (auto loader) scans with a vertical, black stripe.

  Here's how to clean your ADF:

  Gather the following materials:
  A clean and lint cloth, or any fabric that won't come apart or leave fibers
  Distilled, filtered or bottled water (tap water may damage the printer)
  Clean and Lint cotton pads

  • Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and then unplug the power cord from the power supply or the electrical outlet.
  • CAUTION:
  • You must unplug the power cord before you get inside the printer to avoid the risk of injury or electric shock.
  • Unplug the cable USB or Ethernet at the back of the printer, if you have a connection to the printer cable.

  Clean ADF rollers and separator (optional) buffer

  If you try to copy or fax a document and the document does not feed into the ADF Document (CAD), clean the ADF rollers and separator buffer. If you don't use the ADF, proceed to the next step.

  It is a digression of your technical question, but you haven't purchased two separate subscriptions for creative cloud? You are probably aware of this, but just in case you're not, a single Plan of creative photography cloud allows installation and activation on two computers. These computers can be two Macs, two windows, or one of each. See Adobe Creative Cloud FAQ for more information. Of course, you can have another reason to buy multiple subscriptions, but I wanted to clarify in case you can save yourself a little money.

I started doing research on this, and thanks to many messages here, discovered that this software is terrible. I had nothing of real value on my Mac again and after the horror stories that I read I want to he WENT... so I completely removed the drive using disk utility, and then install a new copy of Mac OS X.

  My question is: in doing so, is any damage that could have been made by clean my Mac now cancelled? I guess that yes because I reinstalled the operating system? I really want to make sure that this Mac lasts me for a long time, and I read that the effects of the CMM sometimes become apparent for a long time. Now that I took these steps to delete all and reinstalling OS X, is it like CMM has never been installed?

  (It's probably a stupid question) opening the door of memory and adding more memory will void the warranty? I bought AppleCare.

  What version of Windows do you have?

  A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner. cCleaner comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.
