External monitor problem

Let me start by saying that I had this work once.  Here is what happened.  I was watching Netflix on my laptop using my flat screen tv as a monitor. The monitor of the laptop was also.  When the video started to freeze intermittently, I thought that I might be able to decrease the load on the computer using only the tv for the monitor, but I couldn't find the dialog box to change the selection (please don't tell me where it is, I found it since.)  (Read more).  My son suggested by pressing Fn + F5.  The icon seemed sensitive so I tried.  I lost the image on my screen laptop and become blurred the image of the TV.  I pressed the keys again hoping to get back to what I had before, but it didn't work.

Here is where I am now.  The laptop is fine as long as I do not connect the VGA cord.  As soon as I plug the VGA cord, the laptop monitor goes black.  The TV screen reads "signal not supported."

Here is what I tried:

Tested by VGA cable and laptop on another TV; This works.
Tested another computer on the tv problem. This works.
Changed my resolution of the laptop must match that on the other computer that worked: no change
Found original (while connected to other tv) dialog box and check the mirror on the second monitor *: no change
Looked in device under monitors for television Manager, hoping to remove it and start again, but it is not listed

Oh and Yes, I have power all recycled several times and enabled their return in every possible order.

My thoughts - Windows says that the info for each monitor is stored so that when you reconnect to it, the same settings are applied.  I think maybe somehow I need to purge these parameters or return to the default value. I can't understand how to do this.

* I just can't reach this dialog box without a connected external monitor, and as soon as I connect the tv, that I am using, my laptop screen goes black, so I can't change this setting when you are connected to the tv I want to use.

Connect and scroll with your hotkeys again.  These keys are distinguished by the laptop.

Install the most recent/most great driver and software from the video device manufacturer (which is Microsoft.)  Likely to Intel, nVidia or ATI (AMD).

    Hello
I recently bought an IPS monitor for photo editing. I configured the monitor in several ways, such as two monitors or monitors extended, but the image on the external monitor has a few little flicker and the image is not very pleasing to the eyes, a feeling like little refreshment on old monitor, very disturbing for the eyes.
I plugged the monitor into another laptop and the image is much better.

What could be the problem? I have Windows 7 32 bit and Ati Mobility Radeon HD 2600 adapter with the latest drivers.

We do not know what monitor you have exactly, but what is the native screen resolution and what resolution is set to the external monitor when you use it with your laptop?

Recently, I broke the screen on my A2 and until I can afford to get it fixed, want to use a monitor tft external that I have. I use fn and f5 to enable vga but the resolution is all wrong, and when I try to change the tft screen is disabled and it is up to the laptop broken screen I can't see.

Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Hello

I put t know why you suggest that your resolution is fake because I checked the resolution display information and it seems that the max resolution is 1024 x 768.

In addition, FN + F5 key combination doesn't change the screen resolution but display devices. You can use this function to switch from an extended desktop, external display and two screens.
If you want to change the display resolution, so you should go to the display properties. Here, you can change the settings.

    Hello

I tried to connect my NB200-10Z to my LCD TV using a VGA - DVI connector. Now, I have connected my DVI cable into the socket, then the TV.

For some reason any TV is not recognized by the netbook. I tried the FN + F5 key and it only shows the lcd - associated with the netbook screen.

I thought that maybe I need an update of the display driver, but it seems that I have the latest version (6.14.10.4926)

I used to have my other laptop connected to the TV before, so the problem must be with this netbook.

Can someone tell me what is the cause and how can I solve this problem? Thank you.

Thought I would let you know that, by chance, I came to find the fix on the Microsoft Community website.

The issue might be related to display drivers and try again the steps to uninstall graphics cardin Device Manager, uninstall the drivers of device from the list of programs, and then download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

    Step 1:

Uninstall the device from Device Manager

    • Open the Device Manager
    • Expand the section of the graphics card .
    • Find the Display card Driver.
    • Graphics Driver right click and choose Uninstall.
    • Select the check box delete the driver for this device.
    • Restart the computer after the uninstall is complete.

    Step 2:

Uninstall the drivers of device from the list of programs in the control panel

    • Click Start, select Control Panel
    • Now, click on programs and select programs and features.
    • Find the Display card Driver.
    • Display driver card click right and select Uninstall.
    • Restart the computer after the uninstall is complete.

I tried and it seems to have worked so far. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for your advice. Maybe this will add to the knowledge base for future issues.

  • External monitoring problem

I have a Canopus ADVC-300 that I use as a box of firewire to my external supervision.  I use it with success every day with Sony Vegas and Adobe After Effects.  But for some reason, I have not been able to make it work with any version of Premiere Pro.  I have the Collections Master CS4 and CS5, so I have the two Premiere CS4 and CS5, and no work.  When I go into Preferences > player settings, the only option I have in the menu dropdown is Adobe Player, there is no option OHCI IEEE or DV, just Adobe Player.  Under sequence settings > playback settings, there is an option for DV: 23.976 720x480p peripheral, but the selection that doesn't seem to work.  I don't know that it is important that the option is in the settings of the sequence because I am not able to access the device in the Preferences section.  I know that Windows is seeing the unit because when I turn it on, an AutoPlay opens and gives me options for the use of my video camera, and it works really well with After Effects and Vegas.  If the thoughts?  I'm looking in the right places to ensure that first is to see my device?

Thanks for any help or suggestion!

You use the material/GPU acceleration with MPE? If so, you must disable the GPU acceleration; Output DV does not work when the GPU is in force.

One day I was using the laptop, surfing the net normally, everything was fine and suddenly the screen went bad... (photo below). I tried using an external monitor and still the same, so I'm sure that my monitor is fine and it is probably a problem of display card?
I tried to update my display card driver and no luck, so I decided to use the recovery CD to restore the system and no luck once again.

Here is a screenshot after the system restore... y at - there a way to fix this without taking it to a service center?

    Hi borist,

It s really great that you could post a picture of your problem. Thank you!
In addition, you have already tried a lot of as the recovery facility and an external monitor.

Unfortunately, it seems to be a hardware malfunction of graphics card. :(

This means that you will need to swap the motherboard because the graphics card is fixed on it. Motherboard is a party quite expensive and Tecra S1 is old notebook then maybe you can get a second hand or laptop motherboard on eBay and swap it out.

    Good luck! :)

  • Qosmio X 300-problem of external monitor

    Hi all!

I am the proud owner of a 300-157 x, but I have a problem. I would use my laptop as a desktop workstation and use an external VGA monitor to the output.
Everything is fine when the operating system (Vista or Ubuntu) is responsible, but I can't figure out how to make the external monitor to view BIOS and POST messages to completely get rid of the internal display.

    Any clue?

    >... I can't understand how the external monitor to view BIOS and POST messages to completely get rid of the internal display.
AFAIK this option doesn't exist. In General, computer laptop Qosmio is designed as a multimedia mobile gear and games. Of course you can use it with external screen or a TV, but I think that it is not designed to be desktop replacement. For example, professional laptop computers Tecra and Portege that can be used with a docking station to have multiply and different options for use with external display.

I had X 300 but I ve never used it with external monitor so I can't say with certainty how it works but if I m remembering well this option to disable the laptop computer's display is not available.

Every time when you want to use your laptop as a desktop replacement you should open it, start it, wait that the OS is fully charged, switch to the external display (FN + F5), and then close the cover.
I know it's a little annoying, but, more or less, in 2 minutes, you can use your laptop as a desktop replacement, especially if you use an external wireless keyboard.

  • Problems to project a PowerPoint presentation (2015) for external monitor/screen/projector

I have a problem with PowerPoint presentations (2015) on my MacBook Air (Early 2015). When I go to the slide show-> game start, or when I click on the shortcut at the bottom of my document presentation button, I get the speaker on my mac book but not slideshow on the external display. My background image appears on the external display. If the computer and the monitor are communicating properly. My computer is selected as the control view. When I go to slide show-> Set up show, the external monitor is selected for display. The only way I can find a way show presentation is to select 'Swap poster' view of the presenter, and then go to the external display and select monitors swap to switch back. Another weird thing. If I mouse over the slide in the main presentation while in speaker on my laptop (none other than the background on the external screen image), the presentation gets confused and attempted to show the screen of the speaker AND presentation both on my laptop. Help! PowerPoint presentation is an important part of my work, and it gets really annoying.

Thank you for all the ideas/solutions!

I had the same problem for two days with two different projectors; a NEC and Epson. The only way I could make it work was starting up in 10 Windows via Parallels and the opening presentation. Everything works fine through Windows 10. I hope that Apple will release a fix soon! I don't like to run Windows, any more than I absolutely have to.

  • Dynadock U Display problems on external monitor.

I have a U Dynadock docking station connected to a laptop of HP Elitebook. I have a 24 "FullHD Viewsonic external monitor connected to the DVI - D port on the Dynadock and a second monitor connected to the VGA port on the laptop. The second monitor works fine but the main monitor connected to the Dynadock is slow to update, I can't use AutoCAD or software playback such as display support will not regenerate properly, in other words each movement leaves a trace and screen ends up a mess, videos on the used media player are not working at all, however if I move the on the second monitor, they work fine.

The primary monitor is set to the resolution 1920 x 1080.

The second problem is whenever I restart to start the laptop the primary monitor is at a lower resolution I need to readjust every time. It didn't happen for the first days, I got the Dynadock, but now it happens every time. I downloaded the latest DisplayLink driver but did not help. I also tried to download the latest Dynadock driver but could not get the image of CD ROM to run.

    > The second monitor works fine but the main monitor connected to the Dynadock is slow to update, I can't use AutoCAD or software support of reading such as the display refresh correctly, in other words, each movement leaves a trace and the screen ends up a mess, videos on the used media player work not at all However if I move the on the second monitor, they work fine.

The Dynadock is connected to the computer via a USB cable to the USB port.
In my opinion the USB ports are not designed to transfer this large amount of data that are created by a video.

You can use the Dynadock as part of some office applications, a software, but I doubt it would work properly I watch the video on the external monitor.

  • Problem with external monitor when used with the Satellite P100-434

I'm trying to use a Vizitron L - 151 monitor flat screen connected to the VGA port on the back of my Satellite P100 - 434 (PSPADE)

I find that the screens seem to periodically - feeding cycle windows resize themselves and then the screens settle down again. This happens with the laptop and the external monitor.

I've updated the latest available BIOS V4.20 (November 2, 2007) I use 7.15.11.6369 NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 driver version. I'm under the edition of Vista Home Premium to standard build.

I even resorted to the use of the dvd system recovery to rebuild completely the laptop and the problem persists. In Device Manager I have generic Non - PnP monitor and below that I have a generic PnP monitor I tried and it is not possible to get specific drivers for the monitor Vizitron L-151. * NOTE * I saw dxdiag that the external display is identified the Non - PnP device

The display configuration that I'm trying to use is to have my laptop as the main screen with the external display on my left as an extension to the desktop. In display config my computer screen appears as number 2 with the additional display in the poster as a device 1

While typing this my screens have made this three times and the last time, this IE7 window installs itself to the external display in restored down to size.

If anyone has a glimpse of it, I would be very grateful. There are no problems when the external display is deleted.

_I can reproduce this problem on demand_ by uninstalling the monitor Non - PnP Device Manager.

Sorry, mate, but you ad confuses me a little and be hones I m not 100% sure what you take on
You have some problems with the resolution of the external display or what?

I've found another thread on the setting of the external screen as main screen:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=96263#96263

    According to this statement:
    > In display config my computer screen appears as number 2 with the additional display in the poster as a device 1
It seems that the external monitor has been on the main screen and display books internal as external.

I recommend you change this settings and to use books appear as 1 and the external display form 2.

  • Problems with the external monitor W540 connection

Hi, maybe someone can help me. I'm trying to connect a W540 (no external dock) to an external monitor Dell.

I tried with two monitors, but none work.

Connected via VGA port on the side of the W540

    (1) connected monitor and clogged up the resolution of the screen on laptop (lines icons tiny, black on each side of the screen). External monitor works fine. When unplugged, it went back to the previous screen resolution.

    (2) laptop registered resolution and icon size of the screen as a profile.

    (3) external monitor connected right click options graphics Intel, insured was custom display, main display plus external monitor, then had to go in a re - click on the name of the saved profile.

    (4) this worked ok until the next day, when turned on laptop and a blue screen. Managed to get this back hard by restarting and completed the steps in N3

    (5) cannot get the Nvidia Control Panel to display anything else than the 3D options, even if it make the default value (instead of the Intel graphic card)

Can anyone offer some so that I can connect an external monitor without having to go through all this hassle every time? Why this affects the laptop so bad (and also, it runs very slowly after that)

Running Windows 8 (but with the interface of Windows 7)

    Thank you very much

Thank you. A quick update, I contacted Lenovo, and they sent the updated bios drivers. I also uninstalled some software Canon MP Navigator and Lenovo EMC Discovery (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht081844?tabName=Solutions). One or all of them seem to have solved the problem, including the slow start.
