  I just finished this procedure recently to create an environment QA... we had previously only DEV and PROD in our chimney. Here is a high level overview of the procedure:

  * Update at 08:52. Memory wrote. Reviewed the documentation and I noticed I missed some steps. **

  1. install all products in the new environment on your new hardware as a clean install.
  2. run the checklist after installation to ensure that all components are online and functioning as expected.
  3. after validation of your own environment, stop all services portal and restore your databases environment target on the new environment databases.
  4 copy the folder "documents" of the environment of the source document repository in the target environment
  4. run the version target of the postinst.sql on the target portal database
  5. start only the portal and imageserver
  6. remove the system of automation of the source servers. Use of truncate and audit database history tables.
  7 reimport packages of migration for all products after the restoration of data to remote servers point to the suitable locations for the new environment. Validate all remote server URL... some will have to be changed manuallly.
  8. purge the search index to remove the test data, then plan a looking for a date and previous time repair to make it work in repair to the automation server startup mode.
  9. ensure that intrinsic Ops file has been registered in the new environment Automation server.
  10 start all remaining services.
  11. to update and test publisher Publish and preview target then click Explorer of Publisher and publish all of the tree.
  12. after installation run checks again to validate.

  Activate loggingDebug for/atg/commerce/catalog/ProductLookup in dyn/admin component browser and you can get more information about what might happen. If everything else is fine, cause most likely failure here could be that the product you want to search for is not for the current catalog. You can validate this by adding the parameter open wrongCatalog to your ProductLookup.

  If this is the case of the catalog wrong then you need explicitly setting catalog also gout ProductLookup. Note that this parameter to the ProductLookup of droplets must be of the type of repository, so you have to resolve in the first catalogue through the post-search and then move the element output as the value to the parameter catalog catalog.   In my environment, a user is disabled in Production, but he has access in the DEV instance. When I clone the production on the DEV instance and allow this user, he is not able to see the responisbilities which it is supposed to see.

  Hello

  In my view, there is no way taken in charge to synchronize the two instance other than the use of rapid Clone. If no change was made at the level of the application from the time of the last clone (i.e. no patch applied, no new customization... etc), then you could clone the database only, and copy the competitor request log/output files. But, since you are going to copy the database, I recommend you clone the application layer as well.

  I've migrated the SQL Express databases to the named instance of SQL Standard.  It's all 2008 R2.  The three migrated databases were VCenter, VirtualManagerDB and VSphereUpdateManager.  Domain in SQL accounts have been migrated to the new instance of the box.

  Now, I get this error when trying to open VSphere:

  Call 'ServiceDirectory.QueryServiceEndpointList' of object "ServiceDirectory" on vCenter Server '192.168.123.160' failed.

  Can someone help me understand this?  This is an installation VCenter 5.0 on a Windows 2008R2 server that is also running SQL Server 2008 R2 standard with an Express instance and a named instance.  I've migrated from the express instance in order to overcome the 4 GB limit on the explicit instance.

  As a short response, there is no native way to do what you ask, that I am aware of the case.
  I also answered in more detail to your comment on my blog, which suggests another method using a link DB, you can follow the link to read it.

  On the procedure of Jython you write, my suggestion would be to avoid it.
  Engine in memory is a little less accessible since apart from ODI, it is harder to monitor what is happening exactly in there. I've lived and seen very bad practices involving Jython and the In-Memory engine.
  For example, the table could continue to grow at each execution of the script, probably without notice, given that this is not something that you look at every day.
