How to add already imported the photos in a specific folder (on a hard drive) in a collection of LR?

Sorry if this is obvious, but I can't for the life of understand me...

I'm using Lightroom to organize images for a book project, import each folder of images one at a time and placing them in collections to match the structure of the client files. For example

* Book project

* Landscapes

* MISC

* Still life

* Travel

So far I imported each folder, dragging to images of the option ' import from the previous "in a new collection of LR. Unfortunately, I imported a record (MISC) and then imported another (still life) without copying the MISC images into a new collection. Now I can't figure out how to get the images of the MISC directory in their own collection of LR. I can not re - import them because they are already in the LR library. I don't think that I can remove and reimport them either...

Is it possible to do without going me through my library and find each image and moving it manually? There are a lot of images then I'm afraid that would take days!

Thank you!

I'm curious to know why you need to create collections that seem to have the same content in a folder that you have imported (or I misunderstood you completely?)

There is no need to create a collection that has the same content in a folder, simply use the file! Creating a collection in this case is extra work that produces no benefit.

And in the case where it hurts you

Is it possible to do without going me through my library and find each image and moving it manually? There are a lot of images then I'm afraid that would take days!

Go to the MISC folder in the Lightroom folder Panel, select this folder, and then select all (Ctrl/Cmd + A) and then drag them to the collection

  • How can I move music and photos from my MacBook on an external hard drive, files without deleting the existing NTFS files stored on it?

    Hello.

    I am aware that this issue (or different versions of it) will be requested a thousand times before, but after searching on the internet for a solution, I have been unable to find all the information that brings a simple clear answer that is specific to my problem and so thought I would ask the question myself.

    I recently bought a Toshiba 1 TB external hard drive to transfer music, photo files and internal document in front of the memory of my old PC running Windows, as well as files, music and photos from my existing MacBook Pro, so I can "release" the memory on the latter.

    Transfer files from the old PC proved to be easy; success achieved by simple drag / drop the files to the appropriate location on the external HD icon of Toshiba which appears once I connected to a USB port. It is perhaps worth mentioning that the area of States hard drive has been formatted NTFS for Windows, and so I guess that I would not have expected any problems when transferred to a PC.

    Move the files from my MacBook has however proved anything but simple and trying to drag the respective music and photo files and drop them on the HD Toshiba icon (which appears on my desktop once it is plugged), I seem to be affected by the same issues as so much seems to have it before me, in that "forbidden access" / error symbol appears with the cursor , and bounce the files to their original location whenever I try to place them on the Toshiba HD.

    I understand that this is due to the HD is formatted in NTFS, and that I would need to reformat the hard drive to move files from my MacBook, which brings me to my questions:-

    (a) how do I do this, and

    (b) can I do this without losing, damage or remove the NTFS files from my old PC, which are already stored on the external hard drive.

    If one is able to offer any assistance, in the most simple, easy to follow the description, I would be really grateful!

    Never been so thanks in advance!

    1 install software such as Paragon NTFS on the Mac and let the reader in its current form or from the Finder, choose utilities go to menu, open disk utility and reformat.

    2. that by putting a copy on another drive. You should do this anyway, in case of failure of this drive.

    I feel like this should be easy, but I am struggling to find a way to do it. I have several pictures related to my library, but I want only the live tile to display the photos in a specific folder. Is there anyway that I can control this? • How to move photos from a camera to an external hard drive?

    I did it before connecting each of them in my iMac, but I don't remember the correct sequence and the steps necessary to transfer the photos from my camera to my external hard drive. Thanks for your suggestions.

    The simplest method is to take the SD card out of the camera and then insert it into the SD slot on the side of your 2011 27 "iMac and copy and paste the pictures from the SD card to your DHM.

  • My iPhone does not to import! How can I appear in the Photos and delete those that are already imported?

    My iPhone does not to import! How can I appear in the Photos and delete those that are already imported?

    My iPad appears fine with an option to import the 'new' photos and then delete them once they are imported. However my iPhone appears not at all on the pictures. Although most is already imported via the cloud, some are not, but more importantly, I would remove at least half of 30 000 photos that are taking place on my phone and a "clear items after button import" would be nice right now! I tried to turn off photo stream on my phone, but it still does not appear in the application.

    What can I do?

    Thank you!

    If you use iCloud photo library you cannot delete pictures after the import (or) - deletions on any device will be on all devices - if storage is a question about a device set to use optimized photos

  • I imported the photos before and I wanted to reimport them how can I do this?

    I imported the photos last night and they are not in lightroom today, I would like to import several photos I did not get a chance to edit and try to figure out how I can get back to lightroom to finish their change.

    If you have deleted, deleted from the catalog then just re - import. If you tried to re - import and you get no images displayed in the import dialog, whereas they are still in the catalog and there is no reason to try and re - import.

    Just find these images in the library module and make your setting in the develop module.

    Once any image is imported into a LR catalog never goes away unless you remove it from the catalog or delete the file of the actual image of your hard drives.

    When you import an image in LR all you do creates a record in the database of LR, the catalog file. The image is not really in LR. It is stored on your hard drive somewhere and referenced by LR in the database file, that is to say the LR catalog file.

  • My Macbook guard re-importing the photos same when I connect my iPhone

    Hello

    I hope that someone can help you.  I have been using my MacBook and iPhone 6 for many months now, whenever I plug my phone into the MacBook it opens iTunes and Photos and start to synchronize, until this week, I had no problem at all.

    This week, however, my MacBook suddenly decided that he would try and re - import about 1000 photos that were already in the library, there was more, but some appeared to be recognized as he highlighted the importation of all the new photos option, however it didn't delete photos on iPhone when they are imported.

    I imported the photos and thought it might be a little problem and I wanted to make sure I had, anyway, I thought it was, but I connected my iPhone several times this week, and every time he asks me to import the exact same photos every time.

    I'm not aware of any settings being changed on my iPhone, so I have no idea how or why it happens suddenly, can anyone help?

    Thank you very much

  • What happens when the photo of system library is on an external drive and then the system creates a library of Photos? How do merge you them?

    What happens when the photo of system library is on an external drive and then the system creates a library of Photos? How do merge you them?

    Your library system can be on an external drive, if the drive is Mac OS extended (journaled) format and mounted on-site.

    But you must be careful, your external drive is always connected and available before the Photos and to import new photos.

    If Photos opens a different library, news, you can switch to the library on your external drive by double clicking on an external library. You can have several libraries, no problem.

    But pictures don't have any tools to merge libraries. You can switch between libraries, then open them alternately.  To merge two libraries export the photos of the smallest library and import the photos exported in the largest library.

    Or use third-party "PowerPhotos" to move photos between libraries.  But the merger is not supported in the free trial version. You must purchase the full version. You can download it here: Fat Cat Software

    I mixed the pictures of three cameras in a single file, made changes, that their fame and numbered them. When I want to export on a USB key to give to a friend, all the photos are mixed again, the missing changes, the numbers and names passed.

    So my question is, how to get the wonderful help of iPhoto, so it is possible to export it to another file?

    I mixed the pictures of three cameras in a single file,

    What exactly do you have?  You imported the photos of three cameras in an iPhoto library?

    To export photos in iPhoto, select all the pictures, and then export them: with the setting below, the images will be exported with the titles that you added as the names of files and folders is called as events.

  • How to add programs to the start of the file using Vista

    How to add programs to the start of the file using Vista

    Hi Harry,.

    Oddly enough, you can actually do it in msconfig except if it is already there and simply not checked as opposed to not being do not at all (although you would think that they would understand this option).

    The easiest way is to add the program (or a shortcut to the program) in the folder all Menu Programs Startup.   Here is the procedure: http://www.ehow.com/how_5098465_add-startup-programs.html.  Remember, to do this, you must either a shortcut existing (perhaps on the desktop or elsewhere in the menu all programs) or you need to find the source file (probably somewhere in C:\Program Files depending on what you want to add) and either copy it and add it to the startup folder or right-click on it and create a shortcut to copy into the startup folder.  Once you reboot, this program starts during the initial commissioning process and you will now be able to control using msconfig.exe, if you wish.

    Another option is to do this by using the registry editor.  If you decide to try this, first create a restore AND system restoration point backup of the registry before you begin.  Here is the procedure: http://www.ehow.com/how_7304438_add-program-msconfig-regedit.html.  I recommend to use this ONLY if the previous procedure does not work for some reason any as long as that the procedure is simpler and safer.

    If you want a simpler way to manage and control startup programs, you can try it free WinPatrol http://www.winpatrol.com/download.html that change monitors for startup programs if you set it to run in real-time so that you know when to try new programs are added to your Start menu and, for the purposes of this question includes an Add button which opens a link to a window of Windows Explorer where you can browse the program you want to add, click open to select and then add it directly to the commissioning.  If you prefer it does not work all the time, you can simply uncheck the box which includes this program and it will work only when you choose to run (but at the start, will work as an indication otherwise or configured).  It will appear not in the start menu in all programs (Finally, WinPatrol is, but not programs, it adds to the start), but it will appear in WinPatrol (which also lets you manage what you want or not start with checkboxes as in msconfig) and sure in msconfig - but only after a reboot is complete the process of adding.

    I hope this helps.  Personally, I use WinPatrol myself and let it run in real time.  Since I do a lot of installations, it helped me often prevent the addition of a startup item I haven't really need and reduces how many times I actually need to check what is happening out there.

    If this answers your question without the need to repost in another forum, please mark it as an answer.  If this isn't the case, then of course you must republish as suggested above.

    Good luck!

  • After importing the photos

    I have several weird questions.  Firstly, my computer unplugged and died in the middle to start editing a series of photos after importing (I import using the option 'Copy').  Once I plugged the computer back in and open to new Lightroom, I got the error message there was a problem displaying my previews.  I tried to restart the program, and that didn't help. I tried restarting the computer and that did not work. Then I checked the forums and people told to remove the preview folder.  I did and Lightroom is finally open.  I tried to re - import the photos that I needed to edit because they are no longer there, but then I get the message "there is no picture to import" even if it's picture still in my computer and the disk, they came.  I don't know why when I imported the photos once, I can't do it a second time to change again.  Help!  I need to edit these photos!

    If Lightroom import them it means that really, they are already in your library. You may need to search for them. Just run a search for filename in the filter in case of «all photographs» bar If you still can't find not just imported with "don't import suspected duplicates" unchecked (in the file tab on the right of handling).
