How to add commands to the context menu for the types of files (add associations)?

I would like to download anime and re - encode standard dvd (mpeg2) format before you burn it to a DVD for better quality.  I have a program suite that supports the grunt work, but to do a contextual menu command that calls the original batch file that the user must manually add it to the menu of context by file association.  I found that I can access the menus of file associations, but the option to add a new association with an existing file type does not seem to exist.  Is there a registry entry, I need to change or add to allow me to customize my context menus in Windows 7?

Create a text file (make sure you have the framework where you DO NOT hide known file extensions unmarked)

Change the new text file... Copy the following: [quote]

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WMP11. AssocFile.AVI\shell\Queue for encoding]
@= "& Queue for encoding.

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WMP11. AssocFile.AVI\shell\Queue for Encoding\command]
"@="c:\\dvdstudio\\scripts\\Queue.bat \"%1\"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WMP11. AssocFile.MP4\shell\Queue for encoding]
@= "& Queue for encoding.

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WMP11. AssocFile.MP4\shell\Queue for Encoding\command]
"@="c:\\dvdstudio\\scripts\\Queue.bat \"%1\"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CCCP. WMP. AssocFile.MKV.1\shell\Queue for encoding]
@= "& Queue for encoding.

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CCCP. WMP. AssocFile.MKV.1\shell\Queue for Encoding\command]
"@="c:\\dvdstudio\\scripts\\Queue.bat \"%1\"

[/ quote]

Save the text file..., rename the text file with the .reg extension

Double-click the new registry file to add the context menu commands to your registry... everything is done! :)

And thank you very much, BluePlateSpecial!

  • How can I turn off the options to context menu for Adobe Acrobat on Windows 7?

    Hello

I wonder if anyone can tell here:

    1. The Explorer of Windows 7, I have context menu options to "Convert to Adobe PDF" and "convert to Adobe PDF and send". Both these options ask me to choose a target file name, but when you select a file, Office 2010, I get a message about the missing PDFMaker files. Can I remove these options from popup menu?

  • Weird "cmd" option in the context menu for the drive/folder

Recently, I noticed a strange 'cmd' (as what) command appeared in the context menu for the drive/folder. After pressing it, I get an error "this file doesn't have an associated program to perform this action."

Efforts to eliminate this question nagging eye, using regedit and various 3rd party menu popup editors, have failed.

Any ideas why this might have happened?

    Thank you in advance.

So, I thought about it. It indeed is a corruption of the menu prompt integrated (that I didn't know existed until I started to search for this problem).  The problem and the fix is here:

There is a key called "command" in HKCR\Directory\shell. Delete the key "cmd" under "shell", and then adding the following code appear to have solved the problem.

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell]
    @= 'none '.

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\Command Prompt]
    'Extended '=' '
    "NoWorkingDirectory"=""

    "NoWorkingDirectory"=""

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\Command Prompt\command]

Let me rephrase - is there a data dictionary to get information on the type defined by the user within a package specification

Best approach will be to have a standard in the definition of data types.

Have a process to follow the object definitions in the package if it is mandatory.

    Here are four ways:

    1. go to a command prompt and run the command

dir [drive: folder] > c:\tempfilename (you can use any name and put
in any folder of your choice)

Then open Notepad, open tempfilename and print from there.

    2. write (for example, in Notepad), a text line 1:
    / DIR %1 > LPT1:

Save it as 'printdir.bat' in the folder ' send to '.

Then, to print the list of files in any folder, right click on this folder

  • Box "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" is grayed out out__cant change file association for any type of file

I'm not allowed to change any combination of files for any type of file... If I try to associate a file type with a program that I can't the box is grayed out to always open the file with this program, for example, if I try to open .py (programming in python language file) with python from another program whenever I have to right click and open with python, but if I want to choose the "always use". the selected program to open this type of file"is grayed on I can not change it... pls help

    Hi VikkHckrz,

    1. you remember to make changes to the computer recently?

    Method 1:

You can consult the following KB article and run the fix it tool available and check if you can assign file association.

When you run an .exe on a Windows Vista-based or Windows 7 computer file, the file may start another program

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/950505

    Also check out the link:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/change-which-programs-Windows-uses-by-default

After running the fixit so check the option is grayed out or not.

    Method 2:

If you're still having problems, then you can try to change the settings in the registry only if it is present on your computer and check if it helps.

    a. Click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.

    b. navigate to the

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer

    (c) in the right side of the screen, double click on "NoFileAssociate".

    d. change the value of "NoFileAssociate" from 1 to 0.

    e. exit the registry editor and restart the computer and check.

Important: The above mentioned steps show you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, follow the steps from the link below:

  • restrict the types of files that can be downloaded

I refer to the Configuration Guide for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12. I have a question on the recommendation * restrict the types of files that can be downloaded *. I'm not really a functional E-Business Suite user, more looking at it from a perspective of risk analysis.

A few questions if you will allow me:

May I ask if anyone of you in your E-Business Suite facilities restrict the types of files that can be downloaded? If yes which?
What is the risk by limiting only not the files that can be downloaded? What can happen? What's the risk major?
And also, specific to the financial modules of EBS, what types of files "load" users? Can you give us some examples?
Can do you more harm than good by limiting certain types of files allowed for download?
And also where exactly can you check what restrictions in terms of file type and size are currently defined? And how to navigate EBS to see what's next?

    DataObject fileUploadData = (DataObject)pageContext.getNamedDataObject("Bean id of OAFileUploadBean ");
    String contentType = fileUploadData.selectValue(null, "UPLOAD_FILE_MIME_TYPE");
