How to change administrator to a user account account

I am running Win/7 and as soon as he woke up my computer, I have never signed with username or password so guess it's encrypted? I used my administrator account for everything since I got my computer (about 2 years). I read this isn't safe and leaving me vulnerable to viruses, etc... I do not know how to open a new user and set it up to make it work with my Outlook account.

So much to learn about computers, so little time... Any help is greatly appreciated...

You can not. You need to do this via the control panel / accounts of users or via the command prompt. In both cases, you need to be logged in as an administrator account.

  • My admin user account disappeared when I added a new user and now I don't know how to access or modify my user accounts.

I have three accounts of users set up and we had to be the administrator account, but it changed to a standard user account and now I'm sunk.  I had changed the original admin user account to a standard user account, and then made a new admin user account.  I did this so I could spy on girl teenager without his knowledge so that I can be sure it is safe online with parental controls.  I used the new admin user account to set up parental controls.  The next morning, when I saw the new user account, he had transformed into a standard account and now I have no admin user account.  A thing pops up to tell me to put a password for admin (have no idea what it is that I've made a new) but in any case there is no place you can type into it if I had to guess even.  Now, I totally don't know what made my daughter and can not change anything with parental control.

How can I permamnetly delete the user account in Windows xp?

    1. 1

Go to the control panel. There are several ways to do this, but the most common is to go to the Windows Start menu and click on "Control Panel" on the right side. Follow whatever it is more convenient for you.

    2. 2

Click on "user accounts" in the window that appears. Or, you see the standard view (with lines of icons) or the display of the categories (which is explicit). Both have a shortcut to the user accounts Control Panel.

    3. 3

If a control panel is not yet made, click the 'user accounts' Panel at the bottom of the window. If so, you can skip this step.

    4. 4

Click the link you want to get rid of any user account.

    5. 5

The next window will have a list of actions you can do for the user account, one of which will be "remove account". It is the action that you'll want to click on.

    6. 6

The last window that you will see will ask you if you want to keep the soon-to-be-used user represents the files in a folder on your desktop. It's your choice here.

      • If you have already backed up all important data on this user account, you can safely click on 'delete files '.
      • If you do not, you must click "keep files".

Sign on the user account as an administrator, but cannot change the automatic updates.

Under updates important area is grayed out and cannot select to change

    Hello Bill,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

As I understood it, you experience the problem, you cannot change the automatic updates even if you are logged on as an administrator user account. The option is grayed out on the system.

    Certainly, I understand your concern.

I would suggest trying the following steps and check if that helps.

    1. Open the editor of the register of the command RUN by typing "regedit" and click OK.
    2. In the tree on the left, open following files-online HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate.
    3. Remove the automatic "Update" folder This will remove all previous settings for automatic update.
    4. Open the automatic update of the control panel and option as usual.
    5. If automatic update is always gray, type the command "gpupdate/force" RUN and click OK or restart the operating system.

Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • How to get back to the user account administrator privileges?

Original title: lost the privileges on the computer at home. How ca I get it back?

I am the only user on my home computer, using Windows 7 Professional. When you turn on the computer, always offered welcome my administrator screen and waited for a response and normal user accounts before continuing. Rarely need to log on as an administrator and have to go back to the computer just to press a button before it continued its long initialization has been frustrating. Want to remove the log on option user I did it via the Control Panel [don't know how, now!] so now I can turn it on and let it start in his own good time without further interaction from me, which is great.

What is not big, is that I lost all administrator privileges, then any time the area UAC appears asking if I want to continue with the program and I need to answer YES, it won't let me as the Yes box is grayed out.

The management of the computer control panel, I can get local users where I can see that my backup Administrator account is disabled. If I click on the box to reactivate the account, access is denied, so I can not turn on the account.

Help, please!  I would really think my administrator account to return once again, without having to turn off every time.

Thank you for your expertise in advance.

    Dave

    Here you go:

    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Configure Windows to a point before you made the change.
    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.
  • 11.1.2.1 how to change password of another Admin account "Administrator"?

Our admin password has been changed by someone who has forgotten to write it. I can still connect and I am an "Administrator". Is it possible for me to reset the password for the admin user? The user of the administrator is the only user native Directory, we have everyone is authenticated on our server MSAD.

Thanks, but that only works if you know the current password. He asks the current password before you change it. I opened a SR and got the following.

1 with the administration of the Console database, change the password of the user account that was used to
    Configure the Shared Services database.

    2. stop all system EMP Web applications and services, and processes.

    3. start the Configurator EPM system and under the Foundation--> of tasks, select Configure the database.

    4. on the page "Shared Services and Registry Database Configuration, select Connect to a previously configured Shared Services database.

    5. keep the existing database and the user, and then enter the new password.

    6. continue the configuration and click Finish when you are finished.

7 restart the Web applications and services, and processes.

  • How to change the name of user profile

Original title: change of name to issue... help

On my computer, my user profile will appear like this: THEDIAMONDMINE\Mrs Campbell Ali, how can I change the part of Ms. Campbell Ali?

    Hello

    This is an administrator account?
You cannot change the name of the user profile to the location of the file. But instead of this, you can create a new user account and then transfer data from user profile (Ali Campbell of THEDIAMONDMINE\Mrs) for the new account and can set the new user profile name. You can see the following link.
    Create a user account
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-user-account
To copy data from user profile for the user account, you can see the following link.

See the section: to copy files to the new user profile

    Hello

I'm sorry, but the strategy of microsoft in these forums is that no assistance will be given about lost or forgotten passwords and can help you certainly not with the cracking of passwords tools

read the policy at the link below

  • Change password on a user account

I am the administrator on my laptop.  I created a user account normal for her husband.  He forgot his password.  I can't figure out how to change his password.

Sure.  The race box is a great way to jump into clicking 50 screens to get to the place you want. For example, you can run ": start-up of the shell" to open your startup directly folder instead of clicking through these folders: drive C, then users, then your name, then AppData, then roaming, then Microsoft, then Windows, then Start Menu, then programs, and finally start.

Here is another command that you might like: LUSRMGR (local User Manager).  This could let you force - reset his password.  However, it seems that it connected online, then you will probably need to use this Web site link.

If you want or need, you can open files from the folder C:\Users. All records will be in a folder with his account name (mine is c:\users\skeene).

  • Change the names of user account on an old Dell laptop

    Original title: USER PROFILE

I JUST BOUGHT A SECOND HAND DELL INSPIRON 1300, I WANT TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE USER PROFILE. IN THE PANEL OF CONTROL SYSTEMS AND ADVANCED THERE IS ANOTHER CHANGE OF NAME ALONG THE COAST MINE CAN YOU THIS XP TO HELP THANK YOU

You can change usernames, but you cannot change the profile names.

If you want a new profile name, the best method is to create a new user with the desired name.  After that, you can copy the data to another profile to the new user name or simply delete the other profiles.  If you want to copy the data, simply pretend that the existing account is corrupt and follow the steps in the following article:

"How to recover damaged Windows XP user profile"

You can delete the old user profiles by removing the users in Control Panel users or go to:
Right click on "My Computer"-> properties-> Advanced (tab)-> settings (in the user profile section)
