  I need to change the 'HOST NAME' of several laser printers.  In the past, I've always used a print server or on a peer-to-peer network, I used the Ip address.  This year, for this client, I'll have to use the printer host NAME, because they no longer support static IPS, that is not a problem, except that it has been long since I changed the host names on some models.

  in any case, on a 4250dn of HPLaserjet, I discovered where in the printer control panel to change the name of 'host' and I found how to change the characters. but, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to put end the new name or how to set the printer to save the new name.  This last statement has no presence?  Example: I wanted to change the name of 'NPI895IE' to 'Make PRESSURE' I can't figure out how to remove the letters that come after the number 9 and how to record record everything that at that time there.  I know it's probably very easy and I'm just a bonehead, but can someone help out me?

  Ken, use the webserver built into the printer and it will be a piece of cake.

  Set the printer's IP address in the browser's ADDRESS bar, and after that open built-in Web server click the Networking tab.

  You may need to click out around a bit to find the host name, don't forget after you change you must find the button drop down, down and give a click.

  I believe that you SGD now on hostnamex (instead of hostname2) and if you want to change REPOSITORY_URL to the Agent.
  This is what we call reconfiguration management officer to point to a new SGO. Here is the link to the documentation that contains the exact measurements:

  I don't know a smart way to do it. As SIGAR determines the hostname by OS specific functions based on the NIC main automatically, it is difficult to manipulate the configuration.

  Hi, it is possible. Search the apache - plugin.jar in your directory of the HQ Agent and extract to a folder. Then unzip it with jar - x
  Modify etc/hq - plugin.xml and look for the DEFAULT_PIDFILE property. You will find an example for Apache ERS product that looks like this.

  Using the command alter is not supported and you must use the FNDCPASS command.
