  An ex-colleague installed R12 and left no instructions on how start it st. I had a brief look at metalink but thoughtn is perhaps a better place where to get help

  All the application startup/shutdown scripts are under the INST_TOP/admin/scripts directory $. You can use adstrtal.sh and adstpall.sh to start and stop the application components.

• DB Quick Install EBS R12 version

  Quick R12 install DVD that I own contain the 12.1.1 asks and the 11.1.0.7 database. Y at - it a newer version of the quick R12 install that contains a newer version of the Oracle database, as support for security 11.1.0.7 patch is no longer available unless you have first support.

  Oracle won't release a new package of support for 12.1.x with a superior version of the database, and the next Pack of media that will be available for release 12.2.

  You must upgrade the database to the latest version 11.2.0.3 and the application to the 12.1.3 - I think that you are aware of the docs/resources to do this upgrade, if it is not indicate this and I'll post the links here.

  Installation on VMware multinode is similar to single node installation except that you need to run RapidWiz on each node as follows:

  -Run RapidWiz on the database server
  -Copy the configuration file conf_.txt from the server database for application servers
  -Launch RapidWiz on the application servers

• EBS R12 on OEL 5.4 64-bit

  Hi hussein.
  
  I was installing EBS R12 on RHEL 4.6 successfully.
  We now have a new client with requirement EBS R12 on OEL 5.4
  And this is my first time to manage OEL 64bits.
  I managed to install the software. I can start the web login page, and I can connect to Oracle applications.
  But when I tried to click on the menu that launch forms (e.g. system administrator > Security > user > set)
  I got the error:

  FRM-92101: There was a failure in the Forms Server during startup. This could happen due to invalid configuration. 
  Please look into the web-server log file for details.

  oracle.forms.net.ConnectionException: Forms session <1> failed during startup: no response from the runtime process

• EBS R12 installation in virtual pc 2007

  Hi hussein.
  
  I have a laptop with 4 GB of Ram and win7 OS.
  I installed virtual pc 2007. I plan to install EBS R12 on linux rhel 4.6 so...
  I tried to install Linux RHEL 4.6 using the regular CD Installer but when I finish the login screen resolution
  is not correct, I see big colored bars and text are so great. How do fix you it?
  I have my Installer is not compatible with virtual pc 2007? are there different linux version made for the virtual pc?
  Can you help me find docs who have successfully installed EBS on virtual pc?
  Ubuntu linux is also supported by EBS R12? I see some install sample, but I'm not sure if it is regular/normal
  Ubuntu or is it special for virtual pc only as Installer 'XP Mode', which is not really the cd XP Moussa

  In your experience, which is easier to install? window of the EBS and ebs linux

  I prefer Linux installation (esp if you install on OEL). Installation of Windows is easy if you have all the software of pre - req. OS in hand (MKS, VC ++... etc). For installation problems, I would say he's even on the two BONES.

  It's my 8th attempt to install EBS R12 and got the same error.
  OS - Win 2003 Server R2 Standard.
  used CYGWIN, MS Visual C++ 2010 and Strawberry Perl.
  Used Oracle E-Business Suite R12 installation Windows XP steps followed all the steps... Finally even error...

  I tried again, installation with perl 5.x and Visual c ++ 2008. And got the same error... think you can change the operating system from Win 2003 to Win 2008?

  It may be useful, but I can't confirm that, until you try the operating system.

  For the moment, I see two options-
  try to use oracle enterprise linux,
  Deployment Oracle VM model...

  I would recommend OEL.

  You don't have to join a domain. You must configure the primary DNS suffix as follows:

  -Right click on desktop > properties >
  -Click on the "Computer name" tab > click on 'Edit' > click on "More".
  -Enter the domain name under 'DNS suffix' main of this computer

  For example, if you want to use "xyz.com" as a domain name, enter "xyz.com" under "This computer's primary DNS suffix".

  -Click OK, restart the computer
  -From the command prompt, make sure that you can do the following:

  C:\ > ping hostname
  C:\ > ping nomhote.nomdomaine

  in my separate computer with 2.6 Ghz, 2 GB of ddr2 m2mory, 500 GB HARD drive and motherboard asus
  
  I was attend 5 days of training as a DBA role they teach us how to install EBS, after that my training, I tried to install in my separate pc installation has been installed successfully
  
  the problem I have encountered is that the when I try to create the user account, or just open forms, it shows me an error code of FRM-92101

  I just installed EBS R12 (12.0.4) 64-bit on OEL 5.4 64-bit, for our new client.
  
  The installation was successful in general, but as usual I struck with this error "Page cannot be displayed" and the ie browser client-side.
  
  I can start and stop the DbTier with State '0 '.
  
  I can start and stop of the AppsTier with the status '0' (well, it shows that overall status at the end, but I see an error with 'SST')

  Apply the patches pre - req. and see if this solves the problem. If this isn't the case, you may need to apply the main fix once again this patch is applied.
