  I installed El Capitan on a partition of my hard drive.  I want to test it to make sure I don't lose any ability to software if I update.

  The problem is, after I reload in El Capitan most of my software think that I'm not the licensed user when I try to test it.  Photoshop does not, nor other programs.  I'm not in the House account that these programs have been installed under so that they do not work.

  I could be wrong on this matter, and if so someone can come along and correct me, but the whole point of partition your hard drive and the 'driving test' El Capitan is to see how it works on your system considers only for speed, features and stuff like that.  You should know well in advance if your software is compatible with El Capitan.  If this isn't the case, you have two choices; uninstall the software or do not install of El Capitan.  Check with the developers of all your programs/drivers to see if updates have been published which makes them compatible with El Capitan.

I suspect much too many processes running in the background, which most is probably not necessary, but I don't know that for sure. Something is not.

  I have a clone perfect my Snow Leopard former plant and wonder if that can just be installed right on El Capitan, as when we do an update of the operating system, or do I have to erase the whole score first, then install clone?

  To install Snow Leopard on your system, you will need to use a snow leopard install DVD or disc of original installation if your Mac comes with Snow Leopard originally. Once you insert the disc, press and hold the C button it restarts and restart your Mac. This will allow you to boot from the installation disc. From there, you can use disk utility to wipe your drive and reinstall OS X. Once installation is complete, you can choose your preferred option to migrate your data to your Mac using the installation wizard.
