  Is not possible to retrieve the list of recent files. But this does not mean that the files are deleted, it displays only the files that you recently viewed for quick access. Once you start to open the files again, he'll get which are listed there.

  Not sure what you mean by "it is in the way."

  The size of the artboard is not necessarily an impact on the "size of art." (There are some scenarios of workflow where the size of the artboard is recognized and used, but most of the time it's just a 'passive' limit).

  If your art is 2560px 1440px X, and you want the artboard to match, double-click the tool of work plan and choose "Fit the Bounds work" at the top of the presets menu.

  Editing the registry, as shown in this video, is the only way of doing what you want.

  Out of curiosity, is there a reason why you want to clear the list of recent files on a regular basis? I've never done in DW. In Photoshop, maybe a few times.

  File Explorer has recent locations, but it's just folders, not files.

  In fact, I started my answer about it.   It is after all in Favorites (aka links).   So why not have Recent there too?  And why is not new just a hidden directory, but that you have to change your point of view to see?   ;  ]

  To clear individual entries: double click inside the box and use the arrow keys to navigate through the entries and the Del on the keyboard to delete the highlighted entry.

  To clear all the entries, including those on other sites: press Ctrl + SHIFT + delete to open the mini clear recent history window, select all in the interval of time to clear, click Details and enable (check) form & Search History.
