You can configure dataguard on one machine even without using virtualization.

Just go through the Oracle 10 g R2 documentation dataguard for more details.

  • Unable to synchronize the data file in dataguard oracle 10g R2 ASM

    Hello
    I use datagurd for my personal PC (vmware), OS-Solaris 10 x 86, DB-oracle 10 g 2.
    I use a database db_name = test & db_uniq_name = test (primary) and db_unique_name = test2 (standby) standby
    In the test instance, I have two diskgroup in ASM (Davis, HISTDG) and for test2 two more starts: (DBDG1 & HISTDG1).

    Prob: Now when I create a tablespace to Davis (test instance) same thing happens again immediately in test2 (DBDG1) but when I create tablespace in diskgroup HISTDG of the test instance in the same is not get copied to HISTDG1 test2 pending . Even is immediately reproduce at DBDG1(test2 instance) but not HISTDG1 diskgroup

    Appreciated for the answer.

    Hello
    Set DB_FILE_CREATE_DEST = "
    as it can be null and is not really necessary
    I then use db_file_name_convert setting as you had originally.
    I hope this will solve your problem

    for example
    Set DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT = '+ DELAFLOR', '+ DBDG1', '+ HISTDG', '+ HISTDG1 '.
    and
    whole set DB_FILE_CREATE_DEST = "
    or if you use a file pfile deletes the line with DB_FILE_CREATE_DEST

  • Oracle 10g EM (how to add a target)

    Hi all

    I have configured em 10 gr 2 oracle to prod db, but I want to add another target IE cloned a (IE on the same machine RHEL4.0)

    How to add the target to oracle 10g EM, please let me know if anyone knows.
    Thank you
    KK

    There is a way to add another target in the console database. But even in this case, at one point, only one target would be maintained. If you want to manage multiple targets in a single unified window, then wages, Console is the way forward not free database console.

  • Partitioning table in oracle 10g - how to add

    Hello friends,

    I hope you are all fine and great.

    In fact - I have a small question on oracle 10g partitioning of tables...

    I have a table with the partition below...

    CREATE TABLE X_ACC_ASSETS_GPC_AGG
    (
    X_ACC_ASSETS_GPC_AGG_RK NUMBER (10) NOT NULL,
    X_AS_OF_DT DATE NOT NULL,
    ACCOUNT_RK NUMBER (10) NOT NULL,
    X_UNIV_ACCOUNT_ID NUMBER (10),
    ACCOUNT_ID VARCHAR2 (10 BYTE),
    X_ASSET_TYPE_CD VARCHAR2 (6 BYTE),
    X_AUC_AMT NUMBER (18.5).
    X_FIRM_AMT NUMBER (18.5).
    X_ADJ_SRCE_AMT NUMBER (18.5).
    DATE OF PROCESSED_DTTM
    ) PARTITION BY RANGE (X_AS_OF_DT)
    (
    P200712 PARTITION VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE (' 2008-01-01 00:00:00 ',' SYYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS ',' NLS_CALENDAR = GREGORIAN '))
    NOLOGGING
    NOCOMPRESS
    TABLESPACE KAW_DATA
    PCTFREE 10
    INITRANS 1
    MAXTRANS 255
    STORAGE)
    64K INITIALS
    MINEXTENTS 1
    MAXEXTENTS 2147483645
    DEFAULT USER_TABLES
    ),
    .
    .
    .
    .

    P201112 PARTITION
    NOLOGGING
    NOCOMPRESS
    TABLESPACE KAW_DATA
    PCTFREE 10
    INITRANS 2
    MAXTRANS 255
    STORAGE)
    64K INITIALS

    ),
    PARTITION PMAX

    64K INITIALS
    MINEXTENTS 1
    MAXEXTENTS 2147483645
    DEFAULT USER_TABLES
    )
    ) NOPARALLEL;

    My question is:
    (1) how to add a partition to say P201201...
    Since I already said PARTITION PMAX can I still add partition?
    (2) can I add a partition even if the table contains data?

    ==========================
    I tried to add the partition... say

    ALTER TABLE X_ACC ADD PARTITION P201201 THE VALUES BELOW TO
    (TO_DATE (' 2012-01-01 00:00:00 ',' SYYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS ',' NLS_CALENDAR = GREGORIAN '))
    NOLOGGING
    NOCOMPRESS
    TABLESPACE KAW_DATA
    PCTFREE 10
    INITRANS 1
    MAXTRANS 255
    STORAGE)
    64K INITIALS
    MINEXTENTS 1
    MAXEXTENTS 2147483645
    DEFAULT USER_TABLES
    )

    but the error...
    "linked partition must gather greater than that of the last partition.

    Thank you/kumar

    Yes. With the help of DBMS_REDEFENITION, you can partition an existing table. Visit this link on how to do it.

  • How to use Oracle 10g (LOGMINER) consistent with DBA privileges JKM

    Hi gurus,

    Transposition of the CDC, we are checking out JKM Oracle 10g coherent (LOGMINER).
    Only restriction is that we can have no privilege DBA granted to the user of the ODI.

    So far, I did the following

    JKM Oracle 10g compatible (LOGMINER) uesed with

    ASYNCHRONOUS_MODE = NO
    AUTO_CONFIG = NO
    JOURNAL_TABLE_OPTIONS: USERS

    1 source schema: test
    2. There are 2 tables (DEPT_CDC_SRC and EMP_CDC_SRC) in the schema of the TRIAL, the two were added to the process of the CDC
    3 schema work: cdc

    4. from SYS schema the following grants were given to ODI work shema user.

    Grant connect, the cdc resources
    GRANT SELECT ANY TABLE OF CDC
    Grant EXECUTE ON dbms_stats to cdc
    Grant execute on DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH at CDC
    Grant execute on DBMS_CDC_UTILITY to CDC
    Grant execute on DBMS_CDC_SUBSCRIBE at CDC
    Grant execute on DBMS_STREAMS_CDC_ADM to CDC
    Grant execute on DBMS_CDC_IPUBLISH to CDC
    Grant execute on DBMS_CDC_SYS_IPUBLISH to CDC
    Grant execute on DBMS_CDC_ISUBSCRIBE at CDC
    Grant execute on DBMS_CDC_DPUTIL to CDC
    Grant execute on DBMS_CDC_EXPDP to CDC
    Grant execute on DBMS_CDC_EXPVDP to CDC
    Grant execute on DBMS_CDC_IMPDP to CDC

    5. as a user SYSDBA has done the following:
    ====================================
    SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE;
    BOOTABLE MEDIA;
    ALTER DATABASE ARCHIVELOG;
    ALTER DATABASE OPEN;
    ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG START;
    ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE;
    ===================================

    6 start journal... it fails to create the stage newspaper.
    with the following error
    ORA-06512: at "SYS." DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH.

    7. for the goal conceded role DBA to CDC test and start the log it is successful

    8 revoked of CDC DBA and restart the log. It still fails to form newspaper market.
    with the same error i.e.
    ORA-06512: at "SYS." DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH.

    How to solve this problem without any DBA privilege to the scheme of ODI work?

    Kind regards

    Hello

    http://www.DBA-Oracle.com/t_insifficient_privileges_create_view_grant.htm said

    You must have the privileges of the object that you made from tables

    Privileges required to create views

    To create a view, you must meet the following requirements:

    You must have been granted the CREATE VIEW (to create views in your schema) or CREATE ANY VIEW (to create a view of another user schema) system privilege, either explicitly, or by a role.

    You need to explicitly obtain the SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE privileges object on all underlying base objects in the view or system privileges SELECT ANY TABLE, INSERT a WHOLE TABLE, UPDATE ANY TABLE or DELETE ANY TABLE. You may not have gotten these privileges through roles.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you
    Fati

  • form how to do that in oracle 10g

    Hi all
    the shape of any idea on how to format a disk by using oracle 10g and stopping the remote pc and a home pc using oracle Forms 10g.
    I am using windows XP2 operating system.

    Please review...

    You must use client_host, not host. When you use host, you are trying to shut down the server!
    And what is "remotely shutting down the pc? You want to tell someone to another pc? If it's your own pc, does not remotely, but locally.

    You can try this first to see if the dialog box appears:
    client_host (' cmd/c shutdown-i');

  • How to operate the same instance of oracle 10g on another computer

    Hello all, sorry for my ignorance. I downloaded oracle 10g express edition on 2 computers but when I login using sql developer I get two different instances of oracle databases. This file should I change on one of the computers so that when I connect through sql developer im always on the same database. Is there is tns.ora of files that I have to do the same thing on my other machine? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello!

    I don't know I understand your condition?

    But, if so:

    You have 2 computers and the two you want to access a single Oracle database.

    If this fix then you should only on a single machine to install server XE and another machine THAT XE Client.

    After that, you have to copy the file tnsnames.ora to computer where XE server resides at according to the directory where client XE.

  • Oracle 10g Rac (TAF)

    Hello
    I'm known for RAC env.
    How to implement TAF in oracle 10g RAC approx.
    and how do you know... and how conf (base & preconnect) services for which use them.
    Thank you
    KK

    Published by: user603328 on June 20, 2010 12:02

    Before you configure TAF, you should know about TAF

    If the instance fails, TAF allows applications to automatically reconnect to a different instance. The new connection will be identical to the original, but uncommitted, existing at the time of breaking transactions will be cancelled.

    TAF can be configured to perform two types of failover: session and selectwith the resumption of the session, any uncommitted transaction will be cancelled, and the session will be linked to another instance, with the resumption of the selection, uncommitted transactions will be cancelled, the second will be connected to another instance and any select statement that was running at the time of the breakup will be rerun by the sesion again using the same RCS and recoveries lines will be rejected upward until the original request has failed. The Select statement will continue return the remaining rows to the client.

    a TAF connection must be configured in the configuration file net tnsnames.oraOracle. In oracle 10.1 and higher, the DBCA services management page can generate appropriate TNS for the TAF entries.

    To configure the TAF, the TNS entry should include a FAILOVER mode clause that defines the properties of the recovery as follows,

    TYPE attribute defines the behavior as a result of a failure. Value: Session, select or none

    Attributes of the METHOD--> when connections are made to the failover. Value: base or preconnect

    ATTEMPTS--> number of times where a connection should be attempted before displaying an error.

    DELAY--> the time in seconds between each connection attempt.
