How to connect 2 virtual machines?

Hello world

I am looking for a solution to this problem: I installed Workstation 7.1 on a
Windows 7 Professional. It was fine. Then I built 2 virtual machines Windows XP. My goal was
to interconnect the two of them to build a client-server example of infrastructure. But the
machines see each other with ping. They are connected to the same virtual network
(VMNet2) adapter with DHCP serving the IP´s. Concrete 10.10.1.128 and 10.10.10.129 with
the mask of 255.255.255.0.

I have reviewed the configuration in the virtual network repeatedly Editor, but there is no success.

I really appreciate your help...

You will need to get your Vm to consider the other VM as part of the same 'Home Network'

  • How to connect computer virtual machine host

    HI gurus,

I have 2 internal hard drives in a PC. Primary (host) disc hard have win 2003 server and an SAP system, 2nd drive hard having (machine VMWARE) win server 2003 and another of SAP systems. I want to connect SAP through RFC systems. How to connect the 2 devices? What are all the steps needed to connect these 2 machines and 2 SAP systems? How to ensure that the connection has been established?

    Concerning

    Raja

Your uses (host only) VMnet 1 and IP network address of the 192.168.174.0 network. Your host has the address of node of 192.168.174.1 in this network. You can see VMnet1 host IP configuration.

To be able to get the two machines communicate with each other, the guest must have an IP address in the same network. You have two options here, where I would choose one to make sure that the address does not change in the future (better for SAP I think):

    1. assign a static IP address at the prompt.

Go to your comments and change IP address of 200.200.200.20 to 192.168.174.2.

    2. use of VMWare DHCP Server service.

By default, this service must be running. Go to theguest and choose DHCP in TCP/IP configuration. The client will automatically get an IP address of 192.168.174.0.

Enter the following lines in the files 'hosts' of the two systems:

    192.168.174.1 ecc6.mycompany.com ecc6

    192.168.174.2 sapserver sapserver.mycompany.com

Now try if the communication works: open a DOS window on the host computer, and run the command "ping 192.168.1.2. You should receive the prompt responses.

Try to ping the host from the host by using 'ping 192.168.174.1' there.

As long as this does not work, nothing else to Word the communications between two machines.

If this works, you should be able to use shared folders using the names from the "hosts" file or IP addresses.

    For example:

    +
    ecc6\ +.

    +
192.168.174.1\If you have found this information useful, please consider awarding points to 'Correct' or 'Useful' answers and answers. Thank you!!

  • How to access the virtual machines to different physical network?

    Hello

I'm new to ESXi, can someone tell me how can I access virtual machines on the physical network existing in case I use different IP classes? Physics of the network by using the class C IPs and I assigned IPs to virtual machines of class A? If it is possible, then, what are the steps?

In fact, I installed exchange 2010 VMs and also want to access the email accounts of physical network.

    Thank you.

You mean there's no way in ESXi to configure the way so we can access the virtual machines to physical network? without third-party applications.

Because it is impossible for the various networks IP connect without a router, you must have such a device. There is really no difference in that in a pure virtual or physical environment.

You might think the ESXi host as a box with one or more servers (virtual) inside and one or more layer (virtual) two switches, just like a small server room. This means you will need to provide the same type of connectivity that you would have to a new server room with machines configured with addresses in a different IP network range.

  • VShield Configuration Manager 4.1 (and how to protect a virtual machine?)

I have 2 ESXi hosts currently configured in vCenter 4.1.  Before vShield installation Manager, he had 3 vSwitches present on each server; a regular and two distributed.

    • vSwitch0 - connected to vmnic0 - has management and production of network 1 10.168.90.x

    • VLAN 10.1 - VMFN connected to vmnic1 on each host - connects to the private physical network 10.1.x.x

    • VLAN 10.2 - VMFN connected to vmnic2 on each host - connects to the private physical network 10.2.x.x

After you install vShield Manager in a new virtual machine and then to deploy vShield Zones to each ESXi host, develops a new vSwitch

vmservice-vswitch - again group of ports in Virtual Machine vmservice-vshield-pg - not connected to any physical cards

VMS individual vShield-FW created for each host have connected network cards as below

    • Production network normal 1 - VM Network adapter (attached to vSwitch 0).

    • Production network normal 2 - VM Network adapter (attached to vSwitch 0).

    • Adapter 3 - vmservice-vshield-pg network

I tried to connect my VMs to the network vmservice-vshield-pg in order

to protect them and place them behiind the firewall.  However, who has

What happens if I want to connect a virtual machine or one of its network cards to one of the 10.1.xx

or 10.2.x.x networks rather than the normal 10.168.90.x network?  What

additional steps should I make?  The new 4.1 documentation is not

There is no need to change the virtual computer is connected to the network.

Just activate/install vShield zones on your hosts and add rules to the vSwitch or data center.

The virtual machine will be becomes protected if no error is displayed.

If so, take a look at this script: updateVMPortgroup.pl everything you do really makes a call to ReconfigVM_Task() and passing in a specification change and put to day the network in which you want to change

For the first photo, it is the configuration of the network card to a virtual computer.

For the second, it is the type of virtual switch on desktop.

I am currently using VMWare Workstation 8 and I have a virtual machine for CENTOS 6.2.  I now upgrade ISO CENTOS to 6.3 I want to upgrade to it.  This is why I want to start my new ISO virtual computer and use the built-in feature.  So, how to get my CENTOS VM to boot from my ISO 6.3?

    Thank you

Open the virtual machine settings, set the ISO on the virtual CD drive and make sure 'connect to light' is checked. Once the virtual machine starts, press "ESC" once while you see the white bar in the startup screen (you must be fast) to get the boot selection screen, where you can choose to boot from the CD/DVD.

First of all, certify if this virtual machine is turned off.

If this virtual machine is turned on, try closed with command line - http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004340

VRanger quest vReplicator/connection will do the job and is usually very effective when using change block tracking (CBT), allowing it to determine which blocks have changed since the last replication much more quickly, which is useful for the large VMs. replication jobs can be scheduled quite frequently, so that it can not give you time real synchronization between virtual machines He can become close enough

  • How to move a virtual machine to another store of data on the same host

    Hello

I have a single ESX4 host with 3 data warehouses and I need to move a virtual machine to another data store, how can I do that since I don't have the ability to migrate the virtual machine when I am connected directly to the client with vSphere host and I do not have a server vCenter also?

    Thanks, Julien

    Hello

    Yes, you can use #vmkfstools-i /vmfs/volumes/datastore/VM/VM.vmdk /vmfs/volumes/datastore/VM1/VM1.vmdk

For the record, the data store must be shared if you copy of VM and VM must be turned off. In the above command you copy VM.vmdk to VM1.vmdk and add the newly created with this existing VMDK VM.

  • Connect to virtual machines across multiple servers of connection for internal/external access

    Hello everyone

My apologies if this is a silly question, but is it possible to have an individual virtual machine or pool accessible through multiple connection servers? Here is my setup and my scenario:

Connection to server 1 - direct connect active, PCoIP, serving internal users.

Connection to Server 2 - live disabled connect, RDP, coupled with a security server, serving external users.

We seek to deploy Wyse PocketCloud on Wireless / 3G iPad so support for users outside the campus of the hospital can access their desktop.  Users will be expected to have office in the same condition as when they were on campus.  Our doctors are attracted to the iPad, then this will be a test for future deployment phase.

VMS users are controlled by cs 1.  I would like that the possibility for users to directly connect to their virtual machines using PCoIP when they are internal and RDP via security server when they are external.  Is it possible without using a VPN or live with disabilities on cs connect 1?  I tried to add a virtual machine that has already been setup on cs 1 CS 2 but once cs 2 picks up I can connect is no longer the virtual machine through cs 1. Servers will also relay the reconfigure virtual computer every minute, so this is not the right way to do this.  Someone had customers or users who wanted to make something similar to this?  If so, how did you manage?

Thanks in advance for your comments

View what version are you running?  In later versions, you can set directly relate to the level of the server.  So now you can simply deploy a replica of your main connection server that runs Live mode while having your other login server in indirect.   This way you can have a view environment and run your desired configuration.

  • How users share a virtual machine with the level of access under total control?

    Hello

In our Lab Manager environment, we have created workspaces and users can create and share virtual machines in these workspaces. The problem is the level of access only I can see when users share virtual machines is read-only. How can users share their machines with other users with the full control access level?

    Thank you.

It is a constraint of security designed to prevent the full control permission, being too easy accidentally to give everyone in a system.

The answer depends on whether you have PF3 or LM4.

Behavior of PF3: share to everyone in an org is read-only, while sharing a physical person should give you full read/write/control

LM4 behavior: share in all the world in an org, individuals selected in an org or anyone in a different workspace == read-only, while in the same workspace gives you the opportunity.

That said, total control: the ability to deploy/undeploy it or change the settings of the virtual machine, NOT if the specified user has write access the console.  The distinction is quite important.

Also, page followed, but he had the wrong information, there may be an arbitrary number of connections of the competing console to the same VM (oh, I'm sure that there is a limit, but I did not deliberately try to find).  It does give the impression that several people are faced with the same mouse and keyboard...
