How to connect to Oracle 12 c with SQLPLUS 6i

Hi people:

I have people who still need to use the client of 6i SQLPlus.   They were able to connect to our previous database (11g R2) ok.  People who use more recent versions of SQLPlus can connect ok to the Oracle 12 c database that we use.

Does anyone know what setting (and how) I want to change the database Oracle 12 c to allow access to an earlier version of SQLPlus?

Thank you

Matthew

I have people who still need to use the client of 6i SQLPlus.

6i is not the version of the Client, but the forms & reports one, the version of the Client is 8.0.6, too old to be used with the database of 12 c.

See MOS Client / Server interoperability Support Matrix for Oracle Versions (Doc ID 207303.1)

BTW, I tried with a client 9i, and I've got ORA-28040: no authentication protocol matching error, as mentioned in the document and 8.0.6 is even two older versions.

    Hi, gurus,

I just take over a source project which is the ICOMS as400 db2 database. Seems data mirro that CDC is used to replicate from DB2 to oracle.

I am very new to this CDC datamirror, more I am new to figure out how db2 connect to oracle, it is only through db link or what? or is it tnsnames entry?

I wish someone in this forum can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

What do you not sure about?
If Oracle can be the site of conduct, you can use the gateway for DRDA database and we can help you with that. If you need assistance on setting up DataMirror CDC to connect to Oracle, then you will need to contact IBM because it is one of their products.

  • How to connect to Oracle 11 g 2 of CF9

    Hello

How to connect to Oracle 11 GR 2 64 bit, database of CF9?

In CF administrator no Oracle driver is available.

I need to install the Oracle Client software on server hardware where the CF9 server is installed?

If so, is the Oracle Instant Client is enough or do I need to install the full oracle client?

    Any idea?

    cordially Claudia

I assume you are using the Standard edition? Native drivers for Oracle come with CF9 Enterprise, you will need to download the JDBC drivers from Oracle's Web site.

And with SQL * Plus, I login as sys and created a user Charles (with the password pwd), and I granted the DBA role to this user. SQL * more messages saying that the user has been created and the role (the DBA role has been granted). When I log on to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control as a user Charles (with the password pwd that I gave to the creation of the user) as usual (in the 'Connect as' drop-down), I check that the Charles user has DBA profile. My problem is that when I try to connect to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control as a user Charles (with the pwd password that I gave to the creation of the user) and as SYSBA+, one error message is displayed: your user name and/or password is not valid.

Oracle Applications Architecture is a framework for distributed computing and at several levels that supports Oracle Applications products. In this model, different servers are divided in several levels/levels as follows:

-The Office of the range--> browser with Jinitiator or Sun JRE
---> Web servers, forms, States, Admin and simultaneous Application layer
-The layer of database--> Oracle Enterprise Edition database

The Application layer is the layer that is responsible for:

-The different servers that deal with the business logic of accommodation
-Manage the communication between the Office of the range and the database layer

So, to connect to the database, you can access the application layer, or connect directly to the base. I don't think that it is possible to communicate with the application to another application services. Therefore, you must connect directly to the database which can be carried out as explained in my previous answer. There is no such API that can be used to open and close a database connection. Oracle E-Business Suite is just a database with number of patterns and objects that are perfectly integrated.

If you are using VS 2008, I advise to use the last available ODP.NET, 11.1.0.6.20. There was a difficulty added to the 10.2.0.4 release and above that best ensures you won't see the error "provider is not compatible with the version of the Oracle Client." Using one of these newer versions will probably solve this specific problem.

    I don't know what version 2.5.7 designates.

  • How to connect my iPhone via bluetooth with the mcd289 hi-fi sony

    Hi all

I feel like this is a stupid question, but I can't for the life of understand me. I have an iPhone running iOS 9.1 5. I just bought a Sony CMT - X5CDB hi-fi Mcd289.

It has built in bluetooth. I followed the instructions to associate my phone and listen to music from him, but he does not ever appears on the phone as a device for me to choose.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Andrew

    Hi yuley95,

Sorry to hear that you can't associate your iPhone with your Sony's Hi-Fi speaker. We'll see what can be done to get it paired.

I would first start by taking a look at the troubleshooting below sketch. Start by making sure that your devices are close to each other, restart your iPhone and speaker ensure that your iPhone is updated to bring them to see each other.

Get help to connect a secondary Bluetooth device with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201205

    First try these steps

    1. Make sure that your device iOS and Bluetooth Accessory are close together.
    2. Make sure your Bluetooth accessory is on and fully charged or connected to power. If it uses batteries, test them to see if they need to be replaced.
    3. Restart your Bluetooth accessory.
    4. Make sure you have the latest version of iOS on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
    5. On your iOS device, go to settings > Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is on. If you cannot turn on Bluetooth or you see a spinning gear, restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.
    6. Pairing the Bluetooth accessory, replace the accessory in detection mode, then pair and connectagain.

Let me know if it helps.

    Steve,
The configuration files look all right, but can do you that there is at least a space at the beginning of each line except the first in each case.
They lost when you paste in the thread, but please check.
You can also view the listener log to see if this gives errors or messages about why he has no services?

    Kind regards

  • How to connect to the right database from SQLPLUS

    I am running Windows 2008 Server 64-bit and 11g DB (v 11.2.1.0)

Basically, I created two databases DB1 and DB2. I'm trying to log on to the account SYS to DB1 but SQLPLUS seems to automatically to connect to DB2. How can I control which SQLPLUS database logs in it please? Thanks, J

Connect to the database using the connection string if you have created and launched the listener for the database server.

    > sqlplus sys /@ as sysdba

    > sqlplus sys /@ as sysdba

If this isn't the case, then all first set the ORACLE_SID and then try to connect.

    > set ORACLE_SID = db1
    > sqlplus sys / as sysdba

    > set ORACLE_SID = db2
    > sqlplus sys / as sysdba

First of all, to avoid the UnsatisfiedLinkError you must make sure that the path to the shared library (.dll/.so) is included in your PATH environment variable.

Secondly, no it does not change the JDev behavior.

  • How to connect W XP to DSL with Dual Boot Windows 7 Pro & Windows XP Pro,

Have Windows 7 Pro & Windows XP Pro installed in a dual-boot on a new computer configuration. Have Windows 7 Pro connected to the DSL through a wired connection to the Cisco router. How can I connect Windows XP to DSL, via wired or wireless?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you must also connect the Windows XP operating system to a network.

Here are a few steps to do this, please follow.

Step 1: Set up Windows XP DSL Connection: using the new network connection wizard.

    1. Click Start and follow the path: programs-> Accessories-> Communications.

    2. Select the New Connection Wizard , and then click Next.

    3. There are several options in the wizard. You set a Windows XP DSL connection, select the option above that says to connect to the internet and click Next.

    4. Select Setup my connection manually and click Next.

    5. Here, there are three options. The first is for the modem connection, so we must not select. If your DSL account is always enabled, select the third option and click Finish and see the next section on IP addresses. If your DSL account is a limited account, which requires the password, select the second option and click Next.

    6. Enter a name for this connection, and then click Next.

    7. In this screen, enter your DSL ID and the password that you got from the ISP. Click Finish.

Hope this information is useful. Please update the status of this issue. Do not hesitate to contact us to get help with the Windows operating system. We are happy to help you.

    Thank you.
