  • How the honor specification [search Mozilla Support] a sentence?

Many ways to research will honor a sentence. If I say "tab" [including quotes!], they seek the "tab" expression and return only links to documents with that sentence. As I discovered trying to answer a question on control how the tab character is rendered, the research works in support returns links to everything dealing with the Mozilla browser tabs. I tried to use s-quotes d-quotes instead, but that did not help. I couldn't find any button with a name like 'Advanced' to get more control over the search. So far as I can tell, [search Mozilla Support] insist on the processing of the expression 'tab character' as a search for anything with the word "tab" or the word "character".

  • Delete AVG Search add-on

I tried this for a while, but it doesn't seem anyone actually removed. I have seen that messages from people turn it off and resetting the page by default, etc.. I actually want to REMOVE, but the function remove on the search of AVG security does nothing, for example the help button and other options open something, or of the information, but if I click on the option ' Hide/uninstall' then nothing will happen.

As you can see there is no option 'remove '.

Some programs will not be able to be uninstalled via the control panel. You can search the AVG toolbar in the Add/Remove programs in the control panel section.

    • Start-> Control Panel-> uninstall a program

You need not repeat dozens of times or use profanity to get help.

    (1) disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on this tab. Don't know what it does? When in doubt, turn off:

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

Use the links above a disabled extension to restart Firefox if some seem to.

    (2) restore your Google search engine:

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/SearchReset/

    (3) check a user.js file (before the release of Firefox, otherwise the parameters in this file can cancel your cleaning) as described in this article: How to fix preferences that will not save.

    (4) If AVG search took over your page to the new tab (Ctrl + t), which changes as follows:

    (A) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (B) in the filter box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (C) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter the desired value for your favorite page:

thumbnails (i) (default) Page = > subject: newtab

(ii) blank tab = > subject: empty

Firefox homepage integrated (iii) = > topic: welcome

(iv) any other page = > full URL of the page

IMPORTANT: If you have AVG software in your Windows Control Panel, you need to remove it.

  • my homepage is set to google, but it shows up as a yahoo avg search engine. How can I fix it?

my homepage is stuck on a yahoo avg search engine.

    Hello

You can change your homepage settings:

    • Tools (or the menu button

      ) > Options > general

You can also change your search preferences by changing the provider search engine to your search bar - what will change the home page search bar and the search engine used in your address bar when you enter a query instead of a web address. On the default interface, the search bar is the bar to the right of the address bar, just click on the logo on the left side of this bar to open a drop-down list of search engines and change to whatever you want.

If those who do not change your home page, go to:

    • Tools (or the menu button

      ) > Addons > Extensions

And remove the AVG bar tools/all other extensions that you don't want. If you want to reset all default settings, your search preferences, you can install the extension search reset reset your preferences and then uninstall itself.

If you restart Firefox, and you find that your settings changed to AVG, you have a software that prevents your preferences to change. See the article How to fix preferences that will not save.

  • How the new tabs in google instead of avg search by default? Grrr...

Everytime I open a new tab to do a new search, it is default to moy. I want Google to be my default Search tab. I tried ' subject: config' and also disabled AVG Safe Search, "Tools/Add-ons" etc.

    Grrr...

You also have other extensions AVG installed, if so turn them off.

I'm not sure what you're saying, but I know that you say that a new tab opens to a page of AVG search instead of a Google search page. Default Firefox does not open a search in a new tab page.

'AVG Safe' is an extension installed with "AVG Free" search, it is not a topic: config entry, you would disable the zone of Entesnions addons ("Ctrl + Shift + A") or tools > Options > Add-ons. You can find some other junk related to your problem: config and filtering on AVG or all that are in the form of a url on your page you see.

Insofar as research is integrated with Google as default search bar works perfectly fine for me.

Click on the logo of your default search engine and you will see the list of all available search engines. Simply remove AVG and you're done. Hope it helps

  • Cannot delete history search bar.

Directions to delete history search by checking bar "form & search history" do not work.
Nor do the guidelines to remove the individual searches of scrolling down and pressing DELETE.

They seem to work, but when starting a new search history comes immediately.

Make sure you don't get confused by the suggestions of "search".

Suggestions of 'research' are not your search history.

    See Options/Preferences > search

  • How can I disable search removal suggestions?

I just upgraded to 34.0 Firefox (on Windows 7) so I got the search box new user interface with one-click buttons. When I start typing a search and then press the down arrow key or hover over the suggestions, it highlights the relevant suggestion. So far so good. If I then press the delete key, I want to do is delete a letter in the search box (where my cursor is still active; if I hit any other keys that he put it there). What actually happens is that the suggestion of research selected is deleted.

I couldn't less about removing care search suggestions. All I want is for my delete key work on the current field. How can I return it?

That's how the deletion of items in a drop-down list works.
If an entry is highlighted you press the delete key, then the item highlighted is removed.
To avoid that you can use the button return back instead or press ESC to close the fall.
