  Start from another drive or the discs that came with the computer when it was new. Use disk utility to erase the drive internal. The Setup program to restore the OS X disk. If your computer is a 2011 model or later, then you can do the following:

  Install OS X using the recovery network

  Make sure that you have backed up your files because the following procedure will remove all of the hard drive.

  you will use a new installation of Mac OS X.  You can now begin the process of updating

  at the opening of updated software and installing all recommend updates to bring your

  current installation.

  What site/link you downloaded.  It is not normally a download if you have the disc (the download is provided for those who do not have the disc).

  You should be able to download the trial version and use your serial number to activate it to make full use of.  Here are some links where you can get the trial version.
