How to design a plan on an active environment DR MRS?

Hi all

I have a "cluster of Vmware site two" of six host (VI3.5 update 3) with active-active configuration for guests and an active configuration / passive storage. You can see the environment in the image

http://communities.vmware.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/6213/ProtectedAndRecoverySites.jpg

disaster at the main site, I want to shift all production on the recovering site.

If the SAN is not disastered HA will take all the machines on the protected site - & gt; in this case MRS will not be used.

If 'host AND SAN' GOLD 'just SAN' get broken by the disaster I want to design a SRM would automatically inside towards the recovery SAN site and let the three hosts on the site of recovery access to the replica LUN.

Support

  • Improve reply task is in place, yet.

  • two virtual Center (2.5 update 4) are in place: a protégé and one on the recovering site

  • SRM has been installed on both the Virtual Center and matching site is up

  • Plugin for IBM DS8XXX has been installed

Anyone have a similar setup in place?

any tips or best practices for this configuration?

Thank you very much

(1) I will propose this on the SRM forum so you will get more in-depth answers.

(2) will manage all hosts, the VC on the main site or each site will manage its own hosts?

Cause looking at you current configuration that you have 6 guests 1 cluster which means that you have not all hosts in the cluster "site help" / VC which means a failover is not possible.
