  Hi anyone know how to finalize a DVD data (format mastered) burned with the Explorer of Windows 7? From the link below that looks like Windows 7 would only close the session, but not finalize the DVD, and I see no option for this. I want to finalize the DVD, so no files will be able to add to the disc.

  Try the following steps to copy the files and folders of DVD.
  a. right click on the "Start" button and select "Explorer" to open Windows Explorer.
  b. click the "Computer" link in the left side of the Windows Explorer navigation pane. Readers, including the DVD player, hosting will be listed.
  c. click on the DVD drive. In the right navigation pane lists the folders and files on the DVD.
  d. right-click on a file or folder and select "Copy" from the context menu, or press the CRTL + C keys, to copy the file or folder to the Clipboard.
  e. navigate a directory on the drive of destination and do a right click. Select 'Paste' or press CTRL + V keys to paste the folder or the files in the new location.

  I am new to Windows 8.  I try to be positive and I hope that learning to use it in the coming year.

  In Windows 7, there was a nice photo viewer/editor that let me also arrange slide shows, add music and burn the DVD the same.

  Is there something like that in Windows 8, or possibly a download?

  In regards to Yes Photo Viewer, Windows Photo Viewer is included in 8.0/8.1 0r Windows, you can install the latest version of Windows Essentials. With regard to the DVD recorder, that she was abducted by design, you can buy Windows Media Center to 10,00 US $ if you have Pro version or update Propak for US $100.00.   You have a 3G modem or another attached flash drive? My Huawei modem was somehow interfering with Windows Media Center/DVD Maker detect my DVD burner. As soon as I unplugged the problem disappeared. If I reconnected it during the burn process, it does not immediately!

  The CD/DVD drive can be replaced easily
  The CD/DVD drive is fixed with the screw hidden under the memory module cover.

  You will need to first remove the memory slot cover the GET access to this screw.
  Remove the screw fixing the optical drive module, then use your hand to push the CD/DVD drive and then drag the STRANGE Bay.

  It of really not difficult, but you should always be cautious!

  Are you sure that you have removed all the necessary screws which were placed at the bottom of the unit?
  In my view, the reader is fixed with an additional screw that is placed on the inside but I m not 100% sure.
  You can also ask the service partner how to replace the drive because it has detailed documents and information on these procedures.

  The DVD region is limited and can be changed to 4 or 5 times
  If the option is grayed out then that would mean that you have already changed this time view settings and now it is not possible to s more.
  In my experience it of not possible to disable this limitation
