  2. in your JSF Page, drag and drop the operation CreateInsert data control for this ViewObject.

  I work in FM 11 and to merge a file two writers that worked at the same time with the different sections of this update file. I used the FM utility > Compare Documents.   The utility of comparison only adds simple conditional tags to show the differences in a new combined version. Accept/reject only works with the track text edit modes, but you can not follow the text changes when writers attempt to simultaneously work on the same file.

  You're probably better off splitting into smaller sections so that the changes can be done simultaneously. Then use the book feature or a new file with text overlays to assemble things.
