How to disable javascript to test

Hello;

I have a Win98 with IE 6;
I did: Tools-> Internet Options-> Security-> custom level-> standard-> Active script-> command prompt.

so if I go to any site, I get the appropriate ToolTip telling me that I have scripts disabled; Good;

HOWEVER, when I try my own page.htm:
< html >
...
< script type = "text/javascript" >
Alert ("javascript is enabled");
< /script >
...
< / html >

I do not receive the default local value that I thought I would; Instead, I get my alert box, which I should not get if JS is disabled;

any thoughts?

Thank you
dsdsdsdsd

I solved my problem:

I was disabling scripting but only in the 'Internet' zone, while I was testing on my local machine, so disable/prompt settings were not make my Web page;

  • Disabling javascript alerts?

    I use an extension called Black theme for YouTube (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/black-youtube-theme/). Now whenever I start Firefox using the last time restore session. For open links from YouTube I have pop opens a small Application JavaScript box, one per link, which returns "error: document.domain is null. This is the only problem I have, so I was wondering if anyone knows how to disable error messages JavaScript using about: config?

    Pref. of Capability.Policy are not supported in current versions of Firefox, so you can undo these steps.

    If this only happens when you reopen the pages automatically the next time you start then this is probably caused by Firefox load pages from the cache.

  • Please bring ablity ideally disable Javascript!

    There is an add-on available that will allow me to turn Javascript on and off quickly, as we were able to do on the old version? There are many times when you browse the web, you encounter a site that is abusing Javascript. You can tell because the computer slowed to a crawl. It is convenient to be able to disable Javascript, get the information that is relevant and then turn it back on after the tab is closed. It is a particular problem with some links provided on cnn.com, but I noticed on other sites as well. Have to go in: config is a process multi-step requiring several mouse clicks and some scrolling, every time that you enable or disable the JS. Hope you can help. It is very frustrating since Firefox has decided to remove this function. I think that you would have more complaints if more people were aware of this feature in the first place. I found by chance on the old version of FF and was surprised to see how it improves my browsing experience.

    I use Flashblock.

    How to disable him drag the text selected for searching the Web?

    Hmm, I did not forward. This is a new tab page with nothing to do with what you were dragging?

    I wonder if this might be a feature of one of your extensions. You can see their and disable/remove those that are not essential or unrecognized, here:

    Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

    If you disable the extensions, usually a link will appear above at least one of them to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    If there is no difference, you could test mode without failure of Firefox - which is a standard diagnostic tool in order to avoid interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

    You can restart Firefox in Mode safe help

    Help > restart with disabled modules

    In the dialog box, click on 'Start mode safe' (not Reset)

    Any difference?

  • How to disable the annoying message "Printer cartridges no HP installed" on Windows 7?

    How to disable the annoying message "Printer cartridges no HP installed" on Windows 7? I have a HP Officejet 6500 has more and there is a way to disable those annoying pop ups. First of all, why HP can't fix their software to display only 1 message. If I turn on my printer, I get about 5 popups when the 3-minute delay. Is - this embarrassing? You bet, I do not turn off my printer more to avoid these messages. There must be a registry entry that I can delete gladly. Ideas? If you are an employee of HP, please do not give the Conference on "genuine cartridges" and how you take care of your printer. I've had my printer for 7 years and never had a problem with cartridges not HP. They are all made in China.

    This isn't a bad idea, but this does not resolve the issue. There are many complaints from customers about these annoying messages. All HP needs to do is to say to their developers to add a function to disable this feature. What is a marketing thing? Yes, it's a boring marketing question that should really be fixed. It's like Windows display constantly that your device drivers are not fully tested. Of course, when a customer buys a product at a lower price, they take this risk. I hate to be notified 365 days a year that my cartridges are not authentic.

  • How to disable the F1 key HELP

    How to disable the F1 help key in windows vista

    There is no way to do this under Vista.  It is possible that some 3rd party programs won't work - but most don't work with some keys and function keys are often not included.   I spent almost an hour to research and come up with only the following (and that cause extremely advanced registry editing that I have does not feel comfortable recommending that even I would have trouble following him).

    Here is a program which doesn't specifify no limitation (although this means not it not all):http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/map-any-key-to-any-key-on-windows-xp-vista/.  You can do a test to see if it does the trick.

    If this is not the case, look for "keyboard remapping in Vista" in Bing, Google, www.tucows.comand www.download.com to see if you can find a program that works (and works with Vista).

    I hope this helps.

  • How to disable the "Insert smart card" dialog box keeps appearing after the connection?

    Running Windows 7 64 bit on a laptop Dell which includes and integrated smart card reader. My configuration does not require a smart card to log on. I was wondering if the smart card reader has worked, I plugged a card chip used on another system. The driver is installed automatically, so it appears the drive works.

    Now, whenever I log in, the "Insert smart card" dialog box is displayed. If I cancel or close the box, he continues to reappear every few seconds. How to disable this behavior?

    Update: this is somehow connected to Outlook 2003. I have 4 different e-mail accounts. The "Insert smart card" box appears only when checking for my att account (yahoo), which is configured by using POP3.

    Go to the Services.msc and check the settings for the smartcard (manual test) service.

    PS 29 December 2011

    The position of the OP, have been reported since a lot of this problem on the some notebooks Dell and HP. There are a few reports that a replacement of the motherboard fixed the problem and the other that the relocation of a certain connector (no mention of exaclly one that) solves the problem. Direct contact with the manufacturer of the laptop computer, Dell or HP wether, might be useful. Try a follow-up if you have already made contact.

  • How to disable the scaling software IPR and PPP compatible as Microsoft Office.

    original title: scaling software IPR and PPP compatible as Microsoft Office.

    Hello!
    Does anyone know how to disable the scaling of the DPI (or how custom scale) in IPR software compatible?
    In particular, how can I disable display picture in "Microsoft Office 2010"?
    Disable in properties of control does not work as it does for non-Microsoft programs.
    I have a screen 1440 x 900, and for most of the tasks, I prefer the screen so it should be about 4' of me usually use scaling of IPR. The problem is that in MS Office, the Ribbon of the toolbar > 25% of the screen on this setting. Hide the Ribbon is an option, but if I could selectively disable scaling (as I do with the chrome) - all my problems could be solved.
    Thanks for the advice/input!
    Rich

    Thank you for your empty insulting response. I wonder if your answer is just an automated response.

    Well, I was going to answer the Fahimulla K and politely point out that they may have misunderstood your question because you seem to have the "how-to" down to "Disable the display timing of high DPI settings" in the compatibility of most of the Programs tab.  So say what you said apparently is that Microsoft Office 2010 programs do not seem to allow that (the selection isn't activated - grey - so you cannot select)- but you have decided to go in a different direction (more rude/crude) before I got the chance.

    It will not win you a favor here - it is above all a forum for peer-to-peer (user to user).  Politeness a bit for the people spend their time (and as far as I know - the real Employees from Microsoft that poster here do still their choice, not obligation) goes a long way.  A little profanity goes even further - but not in the desired direction.  * smile *.

    However, I had planned on looking into this because he was intrigued, so despite the generally rude responses by you in the two posts, I found you so far - I'll post the results of my research (and my job steps) here in case it might be useful to someone.  I'll probably respond to the other post and a link to this post as well.

    At this stage, while having access to several computers, some with Office 2007 again and others with Office 2010 32 bit, I had not found the time to test and see if it is linked to all Office 2010 64-bit or not.  I confirmed that this setting does not seem to be available in Windows 7 (64 bit) for individual products Microsoft Office 2010 (64-bit versions.)

    An interesting thing I found in the Microsoft Knowledge Base has been "scale of the graphical object Microsoft Graph is reduced inside the bounding box when you insert it into a workbook in Excel" where they actually change you the setting in the Task Manager process tab-->.  This doesn't seem to work (not yet available) for common products (Word, Excel, etc.) as he says he does it to the CHART. EXE.

    So by doing research and without more information from you (such as possibly critical details that you probably have Windows 7 64-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Office 2010) and tests on one machine 64-bit Windows 7 but 32-bit Office 2010 - I note the checkboxes in the compatibility settings are available.  I first thought about this possibility when I noticed a part of this article:
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html
    ... when they say, ' "NOTE: If the compatibility options are grayed out, then it is a 64-bit program and cannot be changed.".

    So - I would say the second part of the answer of the Fahimulla K would be a great place to start (and you did, looking at this post from you in the forums Microsoft Office... about a minute after the display of it here.)

    I think that you maybe isn't luck if - * if * you run the 64-bit version of Office 2010 that is.  Even Microsoft (for a long time - maybe still) recommended and installed Office 2010 32-bit default products.

    Not for the reason will be addressed during the conversation; even though it is an interesting puzzle and would not be limited to just Microsoft Office - but any 64-bit application, you can install.  Their idea was that in general there is some 64-bit plugins and same problem with 32-bit plugins that existed / exist for Microsoft Office.

    My suggestion, if my hypothesis about what architecture of Microsoft Office that you have installed is correct, would be to uninstall Microsoft Office 2010 64 bit and install Microsoft Office 2010 32-bit.

    Hope that helps someone.
