How to duplicate a lower third?

Hello

I've been struggling with this problem for three days. I hope someone can help me.

A customer sent me a file of After Effects project containing their composition for a smaller third. I need to add this lower third to five interview clips in my Premiere Pro sequence.

My problem is that I can't work out how to reproduce the composition without losing something.

That's what I do.

1. first I duplicate the composition five times and give each a new name. (Command D, on a Mac)

2. I copy the name, title and all layers in the original composition and paste on each new composition.

The problem is that this does not create new compositions that may have different names and titles added. A change to one pass each of them.

Or, if I also duplicate names and titles in the composition, I lose some parts of the animation or other effects and basically have to redo the bottom third each time.

Surely, I'm doing something wrong.

I'm a complete beginner in After Effects. Obviously. Others would not take three days to add lower thirds.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm so sick of this project that I decided not to go to bed tonight until that their lower thirds are added.

Thank you

Carolyn

Understand the difference between copying and duplication. Know when nested comps are related and when they are not. Seeing that the masks and layers should be copied separately and do not automatically follow a duplicate. And realizing that I must correct any goofiness digitally and keyframing instead of hanging around using the arrow key.

If anyone has a better "workflow" to add lower thirds, feel free to share. It took most of the 12 hours to get out.

    I bought a lower third animation that can opened using After Effects. What I want to do, is to create different lower-thirds with different names (transparent background) and make everyone as a quicktime file to be able to just put in my first pro film when I need to be shown. The question is: how export animated lower-thirds After Effects in first Pro CS5 with a transparent background, it will show just the slightest third animation. Any response would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    You must make the file with an alpha channel. You want to set up rendering as Millions of colors + Alpha, Alpha right and then use a codec that supports alpha channels. Depending on your system, this can be ProRez 444 QuickTime Animation, or a png sequence.

    Press F1, go to the help files and read the section on render and output.

    Hello world

    I am currently in trial of adobe AE versions and first for Mac.  I'm stuck... try to troubleshoot if AE or / and first is not properly configured.

    I dug up of many youtube tutorials and forum posts on how to export some lower thirds with alpha channel of AE... and everybody has the same solution.

    This is my low third on AE, as you can see that it is transparent:

    Export by using the following parameters as everyone has taught:

    Import in the first, I layer it on my feet and it is not just to show up like it's not there.

    Yet, the image preview shows the bottom third, but my preview is not...

    I downloaded a free sample on the web more low third-party quicktime (created with: Adobe After Effects CS5.5 10.5 Windows 64)

    Anyone else have any ideas?

    One: what are the dimensions of your Premiere Pro sequence?

    You spoke to 1280 x 720 to After Effects. If your Premiere Pro sequence is small, such as 720 x 480, the problem would be that your lower third graphic is off screen due to the difference in frame size. If this is the case, you can stagger the lower third clip in Premiere Pro to the small size.

  • For the Express video presenter, how do you change the font of the lower third text?

    How to change the police lower third text in Adobe Presenter Video Express.  The combination of fonts and sizes is not very attractive.

    Currently, it is not possible to change video presenter Express UI. However there is an option to change them by using the cplc.ini file.

    In the video of the presenter express installation folder, you can find cplc.ini.

    Open the file in any text editor (such as notepad).

    Search for LOWER_THIRD_TITLE_FONT_NAME and LOWER_THIRD_SUB_TITLE_FONT_NAME. you will find the following lines.

    LOWER_THIRD_TITLE_FONT_NAME = clean Adobe

    LOWER_THIRD_SUB_TITLE_FONT_NAME = clean Adobe

    You can change them as below. (for purposes of example, I change the Arial font)

    LOWER_THIRD_TITLE_FONT_NAME = Arial

    LOWER_THIRD_SUB_TITLE_FONT_NAME = Arial

    This will make the police of lower third text in all your projects, Arial.

    Similarly, to change the FontSize are looking for LOWER_THIRD_TITLE_HD_FONT_SIZE / LOWER_THIRD_SUB_TITLE_HD_FONT_SIZE and change them accordingly.

  • How to make transparent background by making lower thirds?

    Hi all

    I use AE CC 2014.2

    I bought some third lower, am I able to make the changes I need, but when I export, the background is black.  So when I import the .mov in first to use only the lower third, I must use the Ultra key to remove the black.

    It worked fine until now, I am trying to add effects to the lower third in first using an adjustment layer.  The effect of the adjustment layer I have insert restores all black background and I can't get rid of it.  How can I remove in AE since the beginning?

    Thank you!

    You must export with a codec that supports an alpha channel, or you could just send the model to the first. If you have a lot of legends, you can use Live text where you can make changes directly in the first name, but using a model AFX.

  • How do you export a sequence of editable lower third

    I created a lower sequence of third parties via Quicktime PNG and PNG still. There are 3 components, quicktime Intro clip, a PNG images so I can adjust the length of the lower thirds and a quicktime clip Outro. Above all this is a title for the name of the person.

    The question is, how do I do that this export to an editable object or the nested sequence? I want to be able to just slide the whole thing into any video and just need to worry about setting the duration of the lower thirds and text.

    Simply isolate these layers in their own project.  A project with a single sequence and this sequence has only the assets that you want to use in other projects.

    Then just import the entire project into any other project he needs. It will be in its own location, easy to work, and it will be editable.

    How can I get this image of newspapers inside the third low white rectangle logo?

    Thank you

    Any help is appreciated!

    Jonathan.

    If you want the bitmap inside the title element, draw a shape on the title (e.g., rectangle) and tree properties change Graph of Type 'Logo' - that will awaken a small preview box you can click to load a bitmap.

    If you want the text and the background image to fade independently, you will need to put the image on another video track.

  • How to duplicate the artboard and move it over the original?

    Basically, I have a document open and want to duplicate its work plan and then move it to a new location (the X axis, the original 50pixels). Doesn't seem too hard, but I can't understand it. This is for CS5.

    var app.activeDocument = docRef;

    var abSrc = docRef.artboards [0];

    var abSrcX = abSrc.artboardRect [0];

    var abSrcY = abSrc.artboardRect [1];

    var abSrcW = abSrc.artboardRect [2];

    var abSrcH = abSrc.artboardRect [3];

    abSrcX = abSrcX + 1221;

    var abSrcRect = [abSrcY, abSrcW, abSrcX, abSrcH];

    dupAB var = docRef.artboards.add (abSrcRect);

    The above works a bit. Original work plan is 17 "x 11" (1224px x 792px) and when I put abSrcX to the foregoing 1221, extendscript throws an error PARM. During one of my sessions of trials and errors, I decided to see what was the document geometricBounds:

    $.writeln (docRef.geometricBounds); = 45-12, 1221.154296875,-780

    So now, I see a bit where I can't go more than 1221, but why can't I?

    I moved the artboard for everything at the top left of the document and I got the geometricBounds again and they were - 6754.5,7038.5,-6463.5, 6736.5, but still can not abSrcX anything about 1221.

    the error is "error Illustrator: 1246458189 ("PARM").

    I tried to understand this is what courses I can think, but nothings working. Any input or help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    EDIT:

    So I tried this for the hell of it:

    var abSrcX = 0;

    var abSrcY = 1224;

    var abSrcW = 1224;

    var abSrcH = 792; (for some reason any 792 translates into 6 "inside the Illustrator, so I put this 432 to make 11")

    var abSrcRect = [abSrcY, abSrcW, abSrcX, abSrcH];

    dupAB var = docRef.artboards.add (abSrcRect);

    and it adds a new work plan and move to X, Y, such that designated. Not exactly what I want, but narrowing down the issue.

    I'm trying

    var abSrcX = 1224;

    var abSrcY = 0;

    var abSrcW = 1224;

    var abSrcH = 792;

    var abSrcRect = [abSrcY, abSrcW, abSrcX, abSrcH];

    dupAB var = docRef.artboards.add (abSrcRect);

    and he throws that error PARM still once, then now there is really no sense!

    Edit2: I changed abSrcY to 10000 and now the height of the artboard is really long, which is insane even more... I don't have the (x, y, width, height) artboardRect down wrong?

    Edit3: If after one more google search, I found out what the problem is. artboardRect is HIGH, LOW, LEFT, RIGHT; and when I do:

    var abSrcX = 1368;

    var abSrcY = 0;

    var abSrcW = 2592;

    var abSrcH = - 792;

    var abSrcRect = [abSrcY, abSrcW, abSrcX, abSrcH];

    top down right and left;

    dupAB var = docRef.artboards.add (abSrcRect);

    This works. BUT I have no idea what the numbers are in relationship with. The center of the artboard? The document Centre? And if I run it again and change... oh dear.

    I think that I just thought of it.

    abSrcX is on the LEFT;

    abSrcY is HIGH;

    abSrcW is RIGHT;

    abSrcH is DOWN;

    Considering that if I add (1224 + 144) to abSrcX and abSrxW, it creates another work plan 2 "away from the previous 17" x 11 ". If I want to run again, I just have to add (1224 + 144) abSrcX and abSrxW again. Now to find a way to do it dynamically on the fly.

    I still like to hear comments on the question of whether this is good or bad, and how I can improve!

    @clrx01,.

    Why do you work with width and height work plan?

    IMHO you need what only once.

    Try something like this:

    // ArtboardCopy.jsx
    // http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1320239?tstart=0
    // How to duplicate artboard and move it relative to original?
    // regards pixxxelschubser

    var docRef = app.activeDocument;
    //var abSrc = docRef.artboards[0];
    var abIdx = docRef.artboards.getActiveArtboardIndex ();
    var abSrc = docRef.artboards[abIdx];

    var moveX = 50;

    var abSrc_L = abSrc.artboardRect[0];
    var abSrc_T = abSrc.artboardRect[1];
    var abSrc_R = abSrc.artboardRect[2];
    var abSrc_B = abSrc.artboardRect[3];

    var next_ab_L = abSrc_R + moveX;
    var next_ab_T = abSrc_T;
    var next_ab_R = next_ab_L + (abSrc_R - abSrc_L) ;
    var next_ab_B = abSrc_B;

    //top left right bottom;

    var next_ab = docRef.artboards.add([next_ab_L, next_ab_T, next_ab_R, next_ab_B]);
