How to export to several locations

Hello world

I'm doing an export of complete database on a server of SunOS 5.8. The problem, I do often face is, most of the files on this server systems are filled with 50 to 70%. So I am not able to use a single file system to store all my files to dump. So what I've done, I've created several directories dump each representing a file system on that server. Later, while making exports I specified the name of directory dump the prefix for the dump as file names below.

expdp name of user and password
Full = y
dumpfile = oradata1:dumpfile1.dmp, oradata2:dumpfile2, oradata3:dumpfile3
file size = 5GB
logfile = oralog.log

This has worked well for me. But I faced some problems that I will list below.

1 > as stated above, I used the file size setting. At one point, he said space required was not available (hopefully, the error number is 39095) and the export was not. Then after the increased filesize parameter considerably solve the problem. I'm still not clear why the export has not even if there is enough space in the file system. I increased the size of the parameter file after reading one of the post in an oracle forum. But they do not mention how it works. I want to know how oracle determines the minimum size of a dump file that was causing this problem.

2 > I thought to create a shell script to automate this backup process. I used export even with some new additions, as shown below.

expdp name of user and password
Full = y
dumpfile=oradata1:file%U.dmp, oradata2:file%U.dmp, oradata3:file%U.dmp
file size = 5GB
parallel = 5
logfile = oralog.log

My idea was that if I specify %U, oracle generates automatically new file names when the current had exhausted. Yet here, the problem I encountered was that it created a single dump file in each directory. Later, I found that the number of generated files depends on the value specified for the parallel parameter. But once the export is complete, even if I've specified 5 for parallel parameter, that he created two dump files in the dump first directory, each in the remaining two dump directories. Still, I don't know why this happened. I found not yet no answer for this.

Please help me to solve these questions, I tried my best, but I am not able to find any help for my oracle related research. The only thing I see in google's documentation of oracle data pump, please suggest me some useful sites, forums for oracle that will help me. I rely on this forum much and it has really helped me a lot, thank you for all the gurus of the Oracle.

I would try to explain what is happening probably.

My guess is that Data Pump started on 1 file system and filled the file to size 5 GB max. Then, he tried to create the following file in the following file system and could fill it to 5 GB if it does not.

When you specify multiple files, Data Pump starts on the first file, and then when it is full, it opens the next file. (That is if at the same time is 1) If the parallel is greater, then it will open several files.

When you bumped the size max, the first file took maybe 10G and is the second file was not required, or the amount of space for the second file was small enough to fit on the second file system.

expdp name of user and password
Full = y

dumpfile=oradata1:file%U.dmp, oradata2:file%U.dmp, oradata3:file%U.dmp
file size = 5GB
parallel = 5
logfile = oralog.log

What happens here is that the first file will be opned on oradata1:file01.dmp the following file will be oradata2:file01.dmp, then oradata3:file01.dmp, then back to the first directory with file02.dmp etc. He round-robins the filespecs and as they live in different directories, so it will be alternate directories also.

My idea was that if I specify %U, oracle generates automatically new file names when the current had exhausted.

It's true, but if the directory structure is filled, an error is returned.

Yet here, the problem I encountered was that it created a single dump file in each directory.

It would have created more files in the directories if needed more work. It fills a file and then creates the next, but in an order of Robin

Later, I found that the number of generated files depends on the value specified for the parallel > parameter. But once the export is complete, even > I've specified for parallel parameter 5, it has created two dump files in the first dump directory > each in the remaining two dump directories. > Again, I don't know why this happened. I found not yet no answer for this.

The work probably only went to a parallel 4 so he created 4 files. It does not create a file until he needs one.

I don't know what problem you have. If you have limited disk space and you say the Data Pump task to write dumpfile that is, it will be. If there is a lack of room, the Data Pump task will throw a fatal error. During export, Data Pump doesn't know how he'll need disk space. The estimate is just for the data, it does not consider the metadata. This may be larger than the data, or it could be smaller. It depends on how full your tables are.

Hope this helps

  • How to export directories TMS?

    Hi all

    TMS 14.3.2

    Another type of TMS database issue. If anyone knows how to export directories TMS in a text file?

    I'm after getting this information in another application, but not all systems we have are directly recorded in TMS. We have several sources of the telephone directory of VCS, which means, we are able to create lookup for system registered in the VCS but not necessarily managed in TMS.

    I could export the MSD systems with relevant data (for example, IP address, E.164 number, etc) to an Excel file, but that will not cover all the available system in the directories.

    See you soon,.

    Chris

    Thanks for the clarification, your original post I've read it was you were trying export data from the phone book of unmanaged by TMS systems that were on your VCS.

    Data export of VCS in an Excel via a phonebook Source file based on file would not work?  It would provide all the endpoint names and relevant link info if it is present as a H323/IP/SIP.  How to export directories in an Excel file located in the TMS administration Guide, page 204.

  • How to export multiple clips in my timeline without exporting all in 1?

    Hello

    So I was wondering how to export several clips that are in my editing instead of loading each one and exporting manually. Basically, I have 40 clips that I need to set the height and then I need to export 40 separate clips. So, how can I do that without export everything as a clip and without having to make a?

    RTC if the exporter Clip utility will do. If this isn't the case, you must do it manually. You don't have to wait to complete to start another. Define a default setting and you can run through 40 clips in about a minute. X to make a selection. Cmd - E for the export preset. Come in. Down arrow for the next clip. Repeat steps.

    If I understand correctly...

    The photos you have posted in a particular order (probably the result of a selection). You can select contiguous files by clicking the first item, and then, with the SHIFT key, click the last item you want. That should highlight your contiguous files.

    Then, you use the function "export" in the file menu.

    In the dialog box, you have several useful options: file format, compression, the file size, the possible change of name and the destination. This destination can be a USB key or a Dropbox folder, as suggested by hatstead.

    If you have a large number to select, it's usually possible create a search with various criteria so that only the desired files are indicated.

    If you are not satisfied with the sort order (chronological, filename, import batch), I suggest to create an album. In an album, you can manually sort you want by moving the thumbnails in the navigation area. (Depends on your version of elements).

    Then all you have to do after that selection should select all (Ctrl A) and to export.

  • Script integration FDM for several locations

    Hello
    I have a slight problem with the FDM integration (integration of SQL) script.
    From what I understood and tested with one FDM-application (tablespace) I'm not able to have several scripts for integration. This because the integration script must be named SQLIntegration.uss, otherwise it will be a mistake.

    I have several locations within a FDM-application where I would use a script for integration. Because of the above mentioned name "bug", I need to include information integration all my pitches in a script. As I imagined that is not only easy to read or easy to maintain solution.

    Is there a work around for the name - bug?
    -Can I call a function within the main function? I tried without success, but perhaps you'd have a solution.

    Any input would be beneficial

    I don't know exactly how you want to go about it. But to meet the function within a matter of function, yes you can make that call. I can be simplistic, but you could do something like this:

    Function SQLIntegration(strLoc, lngCatKey, dblPerKey, strWorkTableName)
         DisplayText("Please close this window")
    End Function

    Function DisplayText (strText)
         DisplayText = MsgBox(strText)
    End Function

    All of the above code would be contained in SQLIntegration.uss
