How to find the path of a file
Hello
I have Windows 7 Starter.
The search utility can be used to search for files by using the ' * ' wildcard, but unfortunately it does not show the path for no results.
I would like to know how to find the path of a file of my choice.
For example, I record a radio on the internet, which is then saved as "MP3". Now, I want to edit such a file, but I need to know where the file is actually stored. Simply access within a 'library' does not show me where the file is actually located.
How to discover all paths where a particular file format?
I hope to receive a response to this request.
Kind regards
Rayt333
An option for the search utility see the paths for all of its results, would be useful.
Hi Ray
Overall view for the search folder for Detailsof Windows Explorer , by using the View Menu on the right side of the toolbar.
Click on the last name column heading and select the folder item.
If you do not see the folder item, click other, scroll and select the folder item. This will add the folder column.
Use the left mouse button to drag the folder column to the left, next to the column name .
Now, when you perform a search, the folder column will show the path of each file found.

How to select the path to a file icon button to a table?
I have a SYSTEM_PATHS table name. All physical access paths as 'where the forms of execution are located' or 'where performance reports are located' are stored in its ranks for example (C:\HRMS\FORMS\)
I memorized the path of the icon files (.ico) inside. The forms of execution can take the path of the icons for the buttons of this table. And access the icon of the chosen path. I use forms 6i. Normally, I put the path of the icon files in the nerve to property of the button as (C:\HRMS\ICON\). But now, here, I don't have a path but its in the column of a table. How to select the path to a file icon button to a table using forms 6i?Hello Gul,
have you tried
set_item_property('Button name',ICON_FILENAME,

Photo location on the hard drive: how to find the path?
How can we easily and immediately find the path to that photo resides on their hard drive?
By easy, I mean without having to open Windows Explorer, I found the controls but that is a very slow method and heavy approach to essential basic, common and repetitive.
Hover over the path of the file in the metadata Panel.
Or look in the folders Panel. You can configure the Panel folders as a hierarchy, as if it were on the hard drive, if that helps.

How to find the location of a file or folder in windows 7
I have a few games on my computer. I can't find the location of the original file for them however. What I find is that they are in the 'games' folder that is included with windows 7. However, the whole files are not there. Only a little bit of information for the game is stored here. What I need to know is: how to find the original location? I tried the search bar "search programs and files" under the start menu, but the only place that appears is the Games folder. I need to know this, because I want to try modding my game called "Civilization 4. Can you please help?
Try this...
Start button > in the search box, type the name of the gam, i.e. of Civilization 4 > (do NOT press enter) > top left corner, you see the name "Civilization 4 '?
If so, right click on it > click Open File Location > the game exe file show be on the highlighted list > right click it > click on create a shortcut.

How to find the path to the project file programmatically
I'm trying to find a way to get the path to the project file in the development environment.
I have attached a small project in LV 8.5.1 with a project file, a library file and the VI. I can get the path to the file library, but not to the project. This channel is still
. I know that the problem exists in LV 8.6.1f1 but I didn't test in LV 2009.
I am aware that in reality he could there have more nested levels of the library files, but it doesn't matter when this simple example does not work.
If this is related to the problem I initially created the library by using the file > new... and later, I created the project and added to the library.
Hi Waldemar,
Here is a small piece of code and a related link.

How to find the path to store offline files in Windows 7
Original title: storage for offline files path.
I am interested to find the full path to storage for my offline files. When I type "offline files" in my Windows 7 start of the search bar menu, I get a "offline files" window that opens, with the option "show offline files." When you click on this, my offline files appear in a window of the Explorer, but the full path in the upper part of the window is simply "offline files folder." I can't create a shortcut and right click on the files to breast does not yield their full path of storage.
Any help is appreciated!
I'm afraid that the information above is not correct.
Offline files are stored in [lecteur_systeme]: default \windows\csc folder. If the system drive is c: then the location is c:\windows\csc

How to get the path of PDF file?
Hello
Adobe Livecycle ES2 V9
Here is the code that I currently use (postSave):
var fileName = event.target.documentFileName;
at this point, fileName is (myForm.pdf), there is no path to the file
fileName = fileName.substring (0, fileName.indexOf("."));
xfa.host.exportData (".") ("/" + name + ".xml", 0);
In fact, when the user saves the document PDF an XML file is automatically saved in the same directory with the same name as the PDF file.
The problem is event.target.documentFileName only gets the pdf and the extension (ex: site_checklist.pdf)
If the client opens two or more PDF files, it tries to export the XML file in the directory of the first open PDF file (or the last, it have not narrowed down).
How can I get the path of the current PDF (not PDF more recently opened)?
I can find no documentation for .documentFileName, I tried documentFilePath too.
The property you are looking for is the 'path' property: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.411.html
Here is the documentation for documentFileName: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.389.html

How to find the path to an executable of construction labview
After generating an executable file with Labview and the installer, users install on some PCs. During the installation process, they have the option to install to a directory of choice here. How can I know this way of installation with a non-labview, for example script method.
Jorn
Hello Jörn,
According to my experience, you have two options:
(A) search all possible installation locations and find the location of the executable file.
(B) for the installation that your script can do refers to the value afflicted a permanent Pavilion. It is usually a registry key, but you can also use a text file that installs in the user of an application data directory or data in the same place no matter where the user places the exe itself. System variables are also an option, but I see no good reason to use those unless you need run your script remotely. Be aware that intervention antivirus or the user can snaffle these methods if you are relying on them, so if something essential is based on your script following that you'll either want to leave the user in the documentation or through a prompt orders or check/recreate this indicator in the exe itself, perhaps as part of the launch process (or both).
For (B), you do not want this as an action of post-installation (available as an option in the tab 'Advanced' of the Installer Application Builder Properties window) and write the installation to the location/file/variable you chose.
Kind regards
