  You can insert the value of key primary agent_id from agent table via before level trigger for insertion line. The agent_id value can be generated through a sequence.

  the trigger code can be as

  If you say by trigger, the system does not take on what number is sent. If you can give it "manually".

  I'm under 4.0. I am writing an app that manages the inventory of distributed database information. All my tables have primary keys digital substitute. I created several combinations/report form. According the report, I can choose to create a new instance of an object; Server for example. When I click on the ' Add Server > ' button, the details of the page opens for me to create the new entry. On this page, I need to have the autogenerated Server_ID. I think something as simple as "Select (max (server_id) + 1) server ' should do. In fact, it seems that it will work because the field is correctly completed. But, when I click on the button 'Create' on this page I get an error that says the Server_ID sucks. Looks like that the generated value is not what makes the INSERT statement.
  
  On the setting Page, I together Server_ID in view only mode and in the Source section selected attribute that I "only when there is zero current in the session state value" and "SQL Query (single return value)" selected with ' Select (max (server_id) + 1) Server "in the field"Source value or expression.

  DO NOT USE the ' Select (max (server_id) + 1) server to assign a new value of PK...» He has so many questions, I don't want to start with this... If you need to get the PK BEFORE all of the data on the form, then have a calaculation on e electronic form that is done before header where you select the NEXT value in the sequence.

  Look for the [ALTER TABLE | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/statements_3001.htm#sthref4803] command to find out how to add a column (step (1)) and a (step (3)) constraint to an existing table.

  For the step (2):

  CREATE SEQUENCE  employee_id_seq
  START WITH  1
  ;
  
  UPDATE  employee
  SET     id  = employee_id_seq.NEXTVAL;
  

  When you create a sequence, START WITH 1 is the default value, so that the line is not really necessary above... I've included just to show how you could start with any number you have chosen.

• How to generate Unique Cache keys?

  I am trying to improve the performance of my ColdFusion 10 application by better use of caching.  I have a CFC of DAO/Gateway special interviewing a particular database.  I added the query caching the query in this CFC and it made a huge difference.

  As this database is out of my control changes/updates, I need to be able to open the purge of the request (s) for this database only.  I don't think the built-in queries to ehcache ColdFusion cache allows granular control of hot flashes - in Administrator of CF that you can pretty well rinse only all of the cache.

  So I thought that the only solution was to create my own region of cache that is associated with this database and manually cache the queries in this region.  Then I can rinse just this region without impact on other queries cached.

  So here's my problem: I think internally, ColdFusion implements the query cache using a hash of the generated SQL code.  I think I'm going to store my queries in the cache with a key that hashes the input parameters.  The Hash() built-in function would be an appropriate mechanism to create cache keys that are unique for each combination of parameters?  Does it matter what algorithm to use with Hash()?

  I guess I'll answer my own question.  I tested using Hash() using the MD5 algorithm, and it seems that it generates repeatable unique values for each combination of parameters.  I did this:

  1. Create a Struct containing pairs key / value parameters (name of the parameter, the parameter value).
  2. Convert the structure to a string using SerializeJSON().
  3. Chop the string using the Hash() with MD5.

  This seems to be what I was hoping.  I would still get a confirmation that it is a good approach, or if there are better ways to do it.

  Click the column which is filled from the sequence.

  In the Properties tab (bottom window), under general, for automatic numbering, click the 'Value' column, select sequence. You get a noise on some things have changed, just click OK. With AutoNumber = sequence setting, this column appears as optional (question mark).

  Just below that, for purpose of sequence, type the name of the sequence (you can also specify MYSCHEMA. In case the sequence SEQUENCE_NAME is under another schema).

  When you create objects SDO - leave the update vacuum column.

  A type only - one that you create by using the primary key constraint clause.

  Try to categorize it at an abstract level, you could break up in:
  -single column
  -multi-column
  -column of substitution

  But I don't see the interest that the primary key does not behave differently or serve another or another purpose.

• [SOLVED] Export Oracle SQL Data Modeler is missing a PRIMARY KEY on the DDL script

  I use data 4.1.888 maker to create an ER diagram and generate a DDL her script.

  The diagram contains more than 40 paintings, most of them have a primary key defined.

  For some reason any there is a table that has a primary key defined, but which is ignored when I export the model to a DDL script.

  It is the "wrong" key (even if it is checked that it is not found on the generated DDL script):

  Has anyone had the same problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?

  There is no error in the log file, but when I run the generated DDL script there, and then I realized that I was doing something wrong:

  The table MEMBERS had a mandatory foreign key from another table, which in turn had a mandatory key against MEMBERS himself.

  So even if I could generate this primary key on members myself, and then run the the constraint definition that returned an error on the DDL script, I could not perform an insert operation on any of these two tables because of the constraint.

  I revised my design and realized relationships was not mandatory. I unchecked the mandatory box on the definition of the constraint and everything went well.

  I could reproduce the problem and the solution on a diagram with only two tables, so I'm sure that's it.

  Anyway, the Data Modeler is "a failed" silently in this kind of situation. It should be fairly obvious to an experienced designer that I was doing something wrong, but it is not so obvious when you deal with dozens of tables and all their relations and this is your first time using the Modeler.
