  The only way to reinstall Safari on a Mac of v10.11.5 is to restore the OS X using OS X Recovery but that rarely corrects a problem with Safari.

  You don't need to uninstall Safari for this reason.

  Can not uninstall Safari. Safari is not a free application standing. Safari was part of OS X.

  To remove the pop - ups scam:

   in the menu bar and choose "force quit."

  Select Safari and click "exit of strength at the bottom of the window to Force Quit.

  Hold down the SHIFT key and launch Safari.

  When I download files from websites (usually by clicking a download link) the resulting saved file downloads, seems to be corrupted: it displays the incomplete download progress bar, file type is listed as "Download of Safari" rather than "Adobe document" etc., and the file has the extension "." PDF.Download ".  I can't change the name of the file to correct the extension like by clicking on the name of the file has no effect.  The problem occurs on my iMac and my Macbook Pro, which are running Safari version 9.1 on Mac OSX 10.9.5.  If I change the preferences for "open the downloaded file, the file opens and can be saved to the application (e.g. Adobe Acrobat), although the downloaded version is corrupted."  "I noticed this problem in the last two weeks, but I don't know if it is related to a software update.

  Try resetting Safari:

  Go to the Safari menu (at the top right of your screen next to the Apple icon), choose 'Quit Safari'

  Press the "Shift" key and while holding this button on your unique keyboard, click the icon of Safari on your Dock.

  Open Safari - Preferences - Privacy - data to remove any Web site.

  Open the menu to go with the Option (Alt) key - library - key locate Safari folder and place it on your desktop. Restart your Mac, open Safari and delete the file from your desktop.

  It's because of the absolute positioning on the tizerboxen classes. You
  really don't need it and ask all sorts of problems in a
  relatively the browser according to standards. First, add this to your style
  sheet

• Corruption Safari

  Hello Apple community support.  Have had some problems with Safari running extremely slow and often causing the MacBook Pro to freeze.  This may somehow be tied to the Carbonite backup.   Whenever I'm looking for a word in an article and choose "Search with Google" it opens Safari and I have to force them to leave quickly because it will bog down the system.  Should use Firefox instead.  Help, please.  Would like to reinstall Safari if possible.  Thank you!

  Yesterday, that I just installed Safari was last updated.

  Since that I've found that Safari keeps crashing.

  My system:

  MacBook Air - OS X ElCapitan - version 10.11.6

  After the Safari more recent upgrade opens not upward. After a lot of Googling, I came in/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports. The Safari crash report it says:

  You can open it by accessing it in the Applications folder? If so, you may have a corrupt Dock alias. Click and hold the alias and make it about 1 inch away from the docking station, then release. Then drag the application in the Applications folder in the Dock to create a new alias. When you have a new alias, control - click/Options/keep in Dock.

• Slowness and Spinning Beachball dead in Safari / Mail

  Mail is extremely slow to start and download the mail in the first run of the day.

  Safari will launch but often will block upward / beach balls. The error messages are extremely long and I don't think I can post them here. However, they talk about a lot of "stacks".

  I have a Mac Mini 2.3 ghz intel core i7, DDR3 4 GB 1600 Mhz, El Capitan 10.11.6 running memory.

  I ran Etrecheck and will post that below, in the hope that this will help identify something inherited weird, that I can get rid.

  If you think it's just that I'm old and slow computer, also let me know that.

  Safari crashes.

  Safari/Preferences/Advanced - activate the menu to develop it, then go ahead and empty Caches. Quit/relaunch Safari and test. Then try Safari/history/Show History and remove all items from the history.  Quit/relaunch Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History... The downside is that it deletes all cookies. It could upset some sites no longer recognizes your computer as one that has visited the web site. Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select Library./Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db, and then move it to the trash.

  Go to Safari preferences/Extensions and disable all extensions. Test. If correct, enable the extensions one by one until find you which extension is causing the problem.

  If you don't need the software of Sierra Wireless, uninstall it by using the instructions in the developer.
