  After updating to the latest version of Firefox, when it opens I get two tabs, and one that appears on my screen is new tab with my homepage on the other, which requires that I click on it to go.   I have reactivated it as I had turned it off and it works, guess I'll try it for a few days now that I'm on 8.0. While the difference between what I ran on 7.0.1 this is I have reactivated earlier "McAfee Site Advisor" but then the main reason that I have no problems is that I avoid bad extensions.

  Looks like you may have updated to misapplication. Probably, you have Adobe Acrobat (the full version) and installed Adobe Acrobat Reader instead. If you had "improved" Adobe Acrobat, it would have cost you money. Acrobat Reader is free.
