How to get the reference clock 10 MHz off PCI-5922

Hello

I'm evaluating PCI-5922 for the my request.

In my application, PCI-5922 will get agilent signal 33250 function generator and the two instruments will be triggered at the same time with the same trigger signal.

Is it possible to get out of the clock reference (10 MHz) off PCI-5922? If possible, the synchronization may be easier.

I expect to get answers of experts!

Zeehoon

Hi Zeehoon,

Before send you the unit for repair, please try one more thing.  The reference clock will be released not in fact until the task or acquisition is started or has committed at least.  Try to add a NO-SCOPE function commit after the property node where you set the reference clock output.

  • How to get the reference or the property of a member in OOP node?

    Hello world

    Is it possible to get the referral of a member in OOP?

    After you have created a class and an insert, a member of control in the cluster, I conclude that, when a right click on it, there is no element of "creat-> reference" or "create-> property node?

    So, how to get the reference or the property of a member in OOP node?

    Hello

    There are a few reasons that you can't do what you want to do:

    1 al ' LVOOP ordinary (as opposed to the DVRS in LabVIEW 2009, or some other framework / pattern design) are items of LabVIEW by value, as a cluster and therefore you can not create a reference to a class.

    2. a control of the object (this is what you get when you drop an object on a façade) is a 'black box' because you cannot look inside. This is to support the idea that the class data private. This means that you can't get a reference to all internal control when its on a façade

    3. check the references are valid only for the controls in the Panel before and therefore any class (or other piece of data of LabVIEW) on a wire / shift register / constant / anywhere other that of the façade, will have only the data portion of the available control.

    To access the items within a class, you create the accessor screws (you can create them easily by right-clicking a class (or the folder within the class) in the project tree and selecting New-> VI to access data members.) This VI would at least have a unbundle / bundle node (depending on whether its read/write) and could, if you have many more features such as range checking. You can use this VI whenever you want to read the Member your interested.

    I hope this helps.

  • VirtualMachine.PowerOnVM_Task how to get the reference to the returned managed object - task

    Hello

    I try to use the VirtualMachine.PowerOnVM_Task that returns a reference to the managed object - task as ManagedObject reference. (The VirtualMachine is the result of the GET's view)

    I use it in VB:

    Var refTask As Vim.ManagedObjectReference = Vim_VirtualMachine.PowerOnVM_Task (Vim_VirtualMachine.Runtime.Host)

    I can get the reftask like ManagementObjectReference, but here I don't know how to convert the managed - object task. I like to use all the properties and methods of this object.

    Looking at my result of the refTask I can't find many properties...

    Is it possible to retrieve an object just to get the reference to the taskobject somhow.

    Concerning

    Manfred

    Hello

    You can get Moref managed object is either using the cmdlet Get-View or in VB, using the VimClient.GetView method, that is to say:

    Get-View -Id refTask

    or

     Dim task As Vim.Task = Vim_VirtualMachine.Client.GetView(refTask)

    Note that each MO is the customer's property which is of type VimClient.

  • How to get a regular clock (100 MHz, 10 MHz to 20 MHz) of the NI 4462 PCI?

    Is it possible to extract a regular clock, high frequency of the 4462 OR?

    I need to synchronize with another card (a PulseBlaster), which requires a 100 MHz clock: every card can be the main source, but they must stay perfectly synchronized.

    (Both cards have on-board crystal oscillator modules of 100 MHz; one of the PulseBlaster is nested, would be so easy to connect a source external intead)

    I use the PCI version, so the star PXI 10 MHz clock is not available. The 10 MHz or 20 MHz clocks that DAQmx usually exports seem not to be available for routing on this device.

    I can't use the Sampleclock, because it is variable (~ 25.6 MHz, changing with sample-freq) and because it is not active when the 4462 is actually measurements.

    In addition, this clock must be either 100 MHz, or a whole simple fraction of it (e.g. 10 MHz, so that a PLL can re - generate the 100 MHz).

    At the present time, the best option seems to be to solder on the 4462 output pin quartz oscillator - but it's a really ugly way do... has anyone had an experience to make relevant changes?

    Is there a better place to connect to? I would prefer to use the RTSI bus connector, but despite tempting advice in the documentation, it seems not possible to get out of the 10/20 MHz master time base: there is

    an axis called RTSI7/RTSI_OSC, but it is a permanent decline.

    Thanks for your help.

    Nick Dear,

    Thanks a lot for your help. As you say, this confirms what I already knew.

    But we really need keep everything in harmony. So, here is what I did, which should hopefully help someone else in the same position.

    The circuit is very simple, using a FIN1001 LVDS line driver. It is a SOT-23 package. Connections are the following:

    * Din connects to the output of oscillator 100 MHz (TC0-2104, pin 4).

    * Gnd connects to the Earth (C210, lower)

    * + 3v3 connects to the more accessible place, that TCO-2104, PIN 6.  [The 3V3 regulator is on the back of the map]

    * FIN1001 food is decoupled with a 0.1uF adjacent capacitor.

    * Dout + and Dout-are connected to a short (30cm long) of the unshielded, twisted pair made of wire 0.7 mm PTFE. (Z ~ 110 ohms)

    Photograph is attached. The SOT-23 package is physically secure, with a tiny drop of cyano, C210 and mounted on his back.

    The receiver uses a FIN1002 receiver, finished with 100 ohm twisted pair and uses a 74VHC04 to convert 3.3V 5V TTL.

    It is mounted on a 14 pin DIL socket, to plug directly into the socket on the other card PCI which normally has its own oscillator module.

    Result: everything works, and I have a 100 MHz clock available to drive the other timing card.

  • How to get the Subvi (the virtual path is in .exe) reference in Run Time System

    Hello world

    The problem is how to get the reference of the Sub - VI in run time system, when the Subvi is in .exe after construction.

    More details:

    Top of page vi called the Subvi dynamically, so that the Subvi is always included, and the source object is the application.exe.

    After the above configuration, the Sub - VI will be the application.exe. For example, the path of Subvi est...\application.exe\SubVI.vi

    So, how to get the reference of the Subvi in Run Time System?

    I can't do it when you use 'open reference VI' with le...\application.exe\SubVI.vi path in the run time system.

    In fact, I can create a file to include the Subvi, rather than build the Subvi in application.exe, then I can get the convenintly reference. But this isn't my favourate average.

    Thank you

    chenyin

    That is the problem. Call a Subvi dynamic means users could change, but it is also very attractive.

    The dynamic call should be used in a user control, but some parade can avoid problems.

    It depends on why you use dynamic calls...-online 2 main ways:

    -Dynamic call are used to maintain a scalable framework for the code without acting on the executable file-online a single VI distribution managed by the administrator/developer

    -Dynamic call are used to provide a collection of "external" characteristic that could be enriched by the administrator/developer. For example, you provide your customers a set of selectable custom signal filters in the executable.

    In 2 cases, you are only able to assess the skills of the users to know if there is a risk of damage, if there is a change.

    So to stay only master a parade might be to provide dynamic VI without a schema, but with the problem of maintenance, since no in-place editing and more attention to manage distribution.

    Another way is to hide the actual distribution to user-online call dynamic VI but it without name as *.vi but others (a repellent name as system of OS name ) or simply without extension in order to attract not user... but that's debatable...

    Another more difficult but more secure method is to create a consistency check before your routine (version, user, modified date,...)

  • How to get a reference to the delivery of the program (not at base of LV)?

    Hello

    I need to create a LV application which will be:

    -Run external executable and not on LV. It has a window of the UI which will open

    -Open PS (no title, menus, etc.) and position it under the user interface

    -If the user moves main UI, LV app FP follows the window

    -If the user closes the main user interface, LV app closes and ends.

    App - LV does not display in the bar of tasks

    So, basically, I need to develop an application that will add-on to an existing GUI, so that together they look and behave like a single user interface.

    The main thing I am struggling with now is how to get a reference to the execution of UI that I call using the exec.vi system

    Help, please!

    What operating system? If you are on Windows, you can try to use the Windows API. Specifically, FindWindow to get a reference to both windows and SetParent to set the parent of one of the windows. This example gives you the basic idea.

    Hello

    I'm developing an application in which I send location of the device in lat, long for every 10 minutes.  I want to send some time also with lat, long. This time must be peripheral situation updates for every 10 minutes.  Can someone tell me how do I do this?

    It is not obvious to your OP exactly what you ask.

    Ask you in a certain way a consistent recording time no matter what time zone are you in?

    Or are you just asking how to get the date and time?

    If it's the last QDateTime is one of the ways to get the date and time...

    http://developer.BlackBerry.com/native/reference/Cascades/QDateTime.html

    If you ask for the first answer more complex, you will probably need to check the time against an external clock (say GMT) and then re-reading use the contact information you have saved to determine what the weather was (including a calculation of DST) at this point in this particular time zone.

    Relying on the phone to change accurately that it is time that you move in time zones will not give accurate results.

  • Get the reference to the type of control of def

    Hi all

    I've been using VI script to update certain parts of the report and have encountered a problem in a case.  I was not able to get a reference to a def control (.ctl file).  The control is simple enum, and I recorded it as a def type because I use several places in my main VI, although I don't think that my problem has nothing to do with the fact that it is a def type.

    I know how to get a reference to a VI (Open VI reference function), and I know how to get a reference to a control in a VI (function Open VI of the reference of the object), but not a stand-alone control.  Details of the help file for the Open VI reference function imply that I might be able to do this with instructions to "Strictly typed VI reference", but it let me only select files .vi and not the .ctl file.  Please notify.

    Thank you very much

    GSinMN

    You can open a typedef of control using the VI reference open and the path of control of wire on the way to the VI.  You can then change the control with scripts by obtaining a reference to the control on the front panel.  If you have a VI with control of typedef, you can get a reference to the typedef (not its instance) by obtaining a reference to the instance and using the Typedef VI or properties Typedef plotted for reference, or the path to the typedef.

    This can be confusing because a typedef is literally a VI without a diagram, and the script processes as such.

  • How to get the bar display of title in pixels text length?

    Hello

    Does anyone know how to get the length of the title bar text (in pixels) display?  Just to clarify, that's what I'm looking for:

    I don't see a CVI function for this.  The attribute ATTR_TITLE_FONT for GetPanelAttribute (...) is only valid for the panels of the child which prevents me from using the GetTextDisplaySize (...) to get the size.  Dive into the Windows SDK I can not even find an answer here.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

    Figured out how to do this.  Go to the SDK to get the font properties - is kind of nonobviousness.  But once you have the font properties, you can create a font of meta in CVI, with properties, and once you have the meta font you can use GetTextDisplaySize (...) to get the size.  For any future reference:

    //define a NONCLIENTMETRICS structureNONCLIENTMETRICS ncmtest;//We have to set the cbSize parameter to the size of the passed structure before retrieving it
    ncmtest.cbSize = sizeof(NONCLIENTMETRICS);
    //Get NONCLIENTMETRICS structure
    result = SystemParametersInfo(SPI_GETNONCLIENTMETRICS, 0, &ncmtest, 0);

    //copy the title font name to a c-string
    while(ncmtest.lfCaptionFont.lfFaceName[i] != 0)
    {
        thefont[i] = (char)ncmtest.lfCaptionFont.lfFaceName[i];
        ++i;
    }

    //null terminate
    thefont[i] = '\0';

    //create meta font with title font properties. lfWeight & 0x700 indicates bold. CreateMetaFontWithCharacterSet() doesn't recognize DEFAULT_CHARSET so we replace it with VAL_NATIVE_CHARSET(?).
    uir_status = CreateMetaFontWithCharacterSet ("TheTitleFont", thefont, abs(ncmtest.lfCaptionFont.lfHeight), ncmtest.lfCaptionFont.lfWeight & 0x700 ? 1 : 0, ncmtest.lfCaptionFont.lfItalic, ncmtest.lfCaptionFont.lfUnderline, ncmtest.lfCaptionFont.lfStrikeOut, 0, ncmtest.lfCaptionFont.lfCharSet == DEFAULT_CHARSET ? VAL_NATIVE_CHARSET : ncmtest.lfCaptionFont.lfCharSet);

    //get titlebar text
    uir_status = GetPanelAttribute (panelhandle, ATTR_TITLE, thetext);
    //get title bar length
    uir_status = GetTextDisplaySize (thetext, "TheTitleFont", &height, &width);

    I have a 79 for the duration of the screenshot above.

  • How to get the text of a SystemPrompt (Cascades)

    Hello

    I've been struggling with this for a few hours now. I followed the example of "dialogues" on github, so I have successfully created a SystemPrompt (the dialog box that allows the user to enter text and accept / reject). Curiously, in this example there is no use of user text input. Do you know how to get the text in my QML? Here you have an example of code that I use:

    My QML:

    // creates one page with a label
    NavigationPane {

            attachedObjects: [
                SystemPrompt {
                    id: prompt
                    title: qsTr("Enter a text for the label")
                    modality: SystemUiModality.Application
                    inputField.inputMode: SystemUiInputMode.Default
                    inputField.emptyText: "Label text..."
                    confirmButton.label: qsTr("Ok")

                    cancelButton.label: qsTr("Cancel")
                    cancelButton.enabled: true
