  No, it won't, it will transfer personal files and settings. You will have to reinstall your applications from the original installation files or install CDs and DVDs.

  If you really want to move your applications to the Vista computer, you will need to buy a commercial programs such as Laplink PC Mover that will allow you to move your programs:

  I have a new imac and have installed LR3. My older G5 has LR2. I copied all the files in the folder of the image of the old machine that accompanies the .dng files in LR2 records. They have been imported into a new folder "G5 imports", one still keep their names of LR, 2008, 2009, 2010. A subfolder of this folder is called "Lightroom" and contains .lrdata and .lrcat files. Should I reimport the image on LR3 files or can I just move them to the new folder of images of iMacs? Also, how can I move the other files in LR2, .lrdata and .lrcat files to LR3? These files contains the metadata for the images, I've worked on in LR2?

  Lightroom Catalog contains information about the location of the files, so if you run the catalog and you don't see the pictures in the folders Panel, simply right click and select search. Since then, the Lightroom Catalog will remember the location of the files.

  When I was upgrading to Lr 2 to 3, I created a new folder called Lr 3 inside my external default Lr on a hard drive folder:

  

  and that's where I pointed to Lightroom to create a new catalog (MyPhotos_Lr3 file). The images are all outside of this folder, folder of Photos. Lightroom is smart, it will find all your dng files (maybe with the help... ;-)).

  I have a portable dv-9830us recently bit it.  8600GS got flakey.  I bought a laptop DV7-7000 series and wanted to pass on the old hard drive in the 9830us and put it in the DV7-7000.  When I put the old hard drive in the new laptop, I got a BSOD that flashed by too fast for me to read.  He tried to repair the installation of win 7, which I allowed him to try, but it failed.  I'm thinking that it is a hardware/driver incompatibility related issue, since the new book obviously has different hardware.  Is there a way to get the existing windows installation on the old hard drive to detect hardware on start up again and install new drivers to allow it to boot on the new laptop?  I really don't want to reinstall 4 years worth of things on the new machine.  Both machines are running legitimate Win 7 Home edition.

  There should be a drop down menu where you can select what version you upgraded.  I know at some point they changed the eligible previous versions to be only CS5 CS6 or more, but I think that your serial number for CS6 should help identify the installer that concern you older programs.
