You may or may not need to change the BIOS settings.  Assuming that you have a bootable CD with this tool, put it in your CD drive and restart the computer.  One of the 3 things will happen:

    1. the computer starts from the CD and you can follow all instructions you have Symantec.

2 watching very carefully that the computer starts.  You may see a message that says something like "press any key to boot from the CD-ROM.  If you see this message, press a key (for example, the space bar) and the computer boots from the CD.

    3. watch very carefully that the computer starts.  You will see a message that says something like, "to change settings, press F1."  The key that you press on will be different depending on your particular computer.  It might be F1 or F10 or del key.  Whatever it is, press this button and you will enter the BIOS configuration utility.  From there, you can change the boot order to CD first.  Directions to navigate the BIOS Setup will be displayed on the screen, but they will involve using the button tab, enter, and arrow keys, because your mouse does not work in this utility.

    Hello

Whenever when you switch the laptop you see on the low left hand site short instruction how to enter the BIOS settings. In your case you must use the F2 key. Please, keep it down immediately after switching on the laptop.

Generally, Toshiba laptops come with two different versions of BIOS (producer of BIOS):

-TOSHIBA BIOS: enter using the button ESC and F1
-Phoenix BIOS: enter using the F2 key.

  • How to access the BIOS on a Pavilion Elite e9237c with mouse and keyboard wireless?

I have a desktop computer Pavilion Elite e9237 with a wireless keyboard and mouse. I tried to access the BIOS by pressing F10 at startup with no luck, and I can't access any of the other menus for the start-up eiither. I don't have a PS/2 port on my computer, so I can't get a wired keyboard and mouse. Does anyone know how to access the BIOS with this configuration?

I bought a USB keyboard and he answered in the same way... No bios access. I then studied why it did not work and discovered that it was the way in which he has been connected to the computer. I had initially plugged into a USB hub when he was not working and I moved it directly into a USB port and it works! I plugged my keyboard wireless directly into the USB port and it works too! Thanks for your help... I wouldn't have thought of it if it wasn't for to recommend you the USB keyboard.

  • How to access the BIOS on my Satellite 5205 settings?

    Hello

I have a laptop of s703/5205 series of satellites. How can I access the bios settings? When I switch on I get the screen "Welcome to toshiba." There are some keys I press during the boot process? On my other laptop I usually press 'DEL' or 'F2 '.

I would be grateful assistance as my portable computer touchpad and, when connected, the external mouse freezes during normal operation. Sometimes I can navigate with the keys alt & tab, sometimes everything crashes. Also I get error messages saying "device connected to the usb port not recognized" Although there is no device attached to my laptop. I tried to plug an external mouse to see if that solves the problem of touchpad but the mouse freezes also.

I need to check the bios settings, bios access help would be really appreciated!

    Thank you all!

    Hello

The keys to use are dependent on the age of the laptop and also what manufacturer of BIOS you have.

Usually by pressing ESC will show the progress of the BIOS during the startup phase.

Pressing F2 usually you will take in the BIOS Setup menu, press F8 brings you to the 'Start' menu (where you can select the safe, etc) and finally F12 will give you the selection of "Boot Device" menu where you can select the hard disk, CD-Rom, etc. as boot device.

  • Re: How to enter the BIOS on Satellite C50 - B

    Hi guys!

You just purchased Toshiba C50 - B, it's * laptop computer test I've ever seen, not recommend to anyone, avoid this brand at all the... 15 days, I tried to get into AD BIOS anything yet this completely useless, not even no CD in there!

I assume that you are not informed sufficiently how it all works and your opinion is, unfortunately, based on low level of information about Win8/Win8.1.

As a first step, you must perform a complete shutdown of Windows. How to do this you can read in http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm

After that restart your machine and press F12 to get into the boot menu.
Here you can choose the boot device and also find option settings to enter the BIOS settings.
