How to load Windows 10 on new hard drive to start clean?

I got Windows 10 upgrade of Windows 7 icon, but I want to have the new installation on a new hard drive SSD and make a clean install only the new operating system. How can I do this?

Can I do a clean install using the free update?

No, it will take you run an earlier version of qualification and start the update of the release candidate. You can run a clean install after completing the upgrade.

Please be aware that you cannot use the free upgrade offer to perform a clean installation on the first attempt. You must first pass the qualification of Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 version (if you do by Windows Update or using the.) ISO file). Ensure that the upgrade is completed successfully and ensure that it is enabled. You can then proceed to do a clean install using media recovery or using the Reset function in the start menu > settings > Update & security > Recovery > reset this PC (start).

  • Pavilion p6230y: how to reinstall Windows on a new hard drive

    Hello

Recently, I had a hard drive failure. The drive is about 7 years so I understand he lived a life busy for a long time, and I plan replace it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make the recovery discs and I don't have a windows CD, because it is installed on the disk hard when I bought the computer. If I had to buy a new HARD drive, how would I reinstall Windows on it without re-purchase a copy? I was told there would be a product key on the chasis somewhere but I couldn't find the model and serial number for the bureau, nothing to do with Windows. I also searched HP website to see if I could order recovery disks, but this option is not visible anywhere. Help, please!

    Thank you, Alex.

    Alex, welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, because you did not the system recovery media when you bought the computer, you will need to buy a full copy of Windows 7.

Here's a guide to help you try to order the HP discs.  However, I believe that it is very unlikely that they are always available from your computer is more than 7 years old.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • Loading Windows 7 on new hard drive

Hi everyone, I have a Toshiba laptop comes with windows 8.  I had to put a new hard drive in it and want to install windows 7 on it.  I have a new installation for windows 7 ult oem that has never been used.  It starts to load windows files and past on the screen "Starting Windows" and after about 3 seconds freezes and stops.  Anyone has an idea about what is up... do I have a bad drive oem?

    Please help, thanks

    John

If it came with Windows 8, there probably secure boot enabled in the BIOS. Try disabling Secure Boot first, and then try reinstalling.

  • How to reinstall windows 8 in new HARD drive using the old product key?

    Mr President.

One of my clients purchased a new HP Envy 6 - 1150ex running integrated windows 8 64-bit a month ago. Unfortunately the HARD drive broke down by the improper use and must be replaced. I replaced the HARD drive, but I can't find the product key original of the laptop unless you have small windows on the laptop sticker. given that I don't have the recovery for the same model disk how can I install the genuine windows 8 manually by using the product key? where can I find the product key?  Please help me.

    Kind regards

    Yoyo

    Hello

Should be no problem at all if you use the version of Windows 8 EVEN because the product key is now embedded in the BIOS of the machine. The process is to get the right installation of Windows 8 media (DVD, USB, downloaded file) and then install on your client computer. No label/sticker more for all new machines with Windows pre-installed 8.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

    Hello

You will need to make a DVD or USB key to reinstall the operating system or of order recovery disks

You can contact the manufacturer of your laptop and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

  • Loading Vista on a new hard drive

I would like to re - install Windows Vista on a new hard drive on a laptop HP Pavilion DV6000 of portable entertainment is since 2007.  Now, the laptop came with Vista pre-installed.  The laptop came with a system recovery disk.  My question is: this disk contains Windows Vista I need to load new hard disk?

    GaryRob

Yes assuming that the new hard disk is at least as large as the former, system recovery disk is exactly what you need to restore the PC as long as you plant. Simply tap on F9 you turn on with the disc in the drive and select the DVD as a source of start-up and follow on-screen prompts. You'll need to do a lot of updates, but you will have a working computer.

is there anyway that I can restore my operating system...?

    Hello

What do you mean by: "I have a return upwards on my old operating system?"

You make an image and with what program?

If this is not a picture read more.

Contact HP and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
