Windows is finalizing your settings there is a bar with a green light moving constantly on it what happens when the facilities are underway. It was like that all night, the laptop turns off during the night and when I turned it on this morning the same screen appeared. How can I get the installation to complete a big thank you to anyone who can help Mike

Hi Mike,.

Thanks for posting the request in Microsoft Community Forums.

1. have you recently replaced the hard drive? Do you have any other hard drive already present on the computer?

2. What is the brand and model of the computer?

3. what installation media you are using during the installation? Is it through DVD or USB?

This problem normally occurs when you have a problem with the installation media you are using. You can try to have a different installation media and try to install the operating system. Also, make sure that you have not connected external devices other than the mouse keyboard and multimedia installation.

Hope this information helps. Respond with more information so that we could help you more.

If it came with Windows 8, there probably secure boot enabled in the BIOS. Try disabling Secure Boot first, and then try reinstalling.

  • How to load Windows 10 on new hard drive to start clean?

I got Windows 10 upgrade of Windows 7 icon, but I want to have the new installation on a new hard drive SSD and make a clean install only the new operating system. How can I do this?

Can I do a clean install using the free update?

No, it will take you run an earlier version of qualification and start the update of the release candidate. You can run a clean install after completing the upgrade.

Please be aware that you cannot use the free upgrade offer to perform a clean installation on the first attempt. You must first pass the qualification of Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 version (if you do by Windows Update or using the.) ISO file). Ensure that the upgrade is completed successfully and ensure that it is enabled. You can then proceed to do a clean install using media recovery or using the Reset function in the start menu > settings > Update & security > Recovery > reset this PC (start).

  • Pavilion p6230y: how to reinstall Windows on a new hard drive

    Hello

Recently, I had a hard drive failure. The drive is about 7 years so I understand he lived a life busy for a long time, and I plan replace it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make the recovery discs and I don't have a windows CD, because it is installed on the disk hard when I bought the computer. If I had to buy a new HARD drive, how would I reinstall Windows on it without re-purchase a copy? I was told there would be a product key on the chasis somewhere but I couldn't find the model and serial number for the bureau, nothing to do with Windows. I also searched HP website to see if I could order recovery disks, but this option is not visible anywhere. Help, please!

    Thank you, Alex.

    Alex, welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, because you did not the system recovery media when you bought the computer, you will need to buy a full copy of Windows 7.

Here's a guide to help you try to order the HP discs.  However, I believe that it is very unlikely that they are always available from your computer is more than 7 years old.

  • Reinstall Windows 7 on new hard drive

My laptop hard drive has crashed and it is impossible to recover anything. So I bought a new hard drive and realized that I don't have installation media. Microsoft has taken the digitalriver site down and does not allow me to download win7 on their site because my key is OEM. What are my options? Lenovo does not allow their customers to download win7? After all, I have a valid key. Grateful if someone here can help me.

I finally fixed it. Use the recovery since a laptop another lenovo and changed media key to windows after installation. And then upgraded to windows 10 without any problem. Thank you!

  • Loading Vista on a new hard drive

I would like to re - install Windows Vista on a new hard drive on a laptop HP Pavilion DV6000 of portable entertainment is since 2007.  Now, the laptop came with Vista pre-installed.  The laptop came with a system recovery disk.  My question is: this disk contains Windows Vista I need to load new hard disk?

    GaryRob

Yes assuming that the new hard disk is at least as large as the former, system recovery disk is exactly what you need to restore the PC as long as you plant. Simply tap on F9 you turn on with the disc in the drive and select the DVD as a source of start-up and follow on-screen prompts. You'll need to do a lot of updates, but you will have a working computer.

Would appreciate help from the members of the Forum.

The drive on my Acer Z5610 is overheating and stop unexpectedly. I bought a new 1 TB WD HARD drive. I tried loading the Acer recovery CD 3 I initially created in order to load all applications touch etc, but received a message to say that I got at loading Windows. The computer came pre loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium, so I did not all Windows disks. My question is: How can I transfer Windows 7 on my new HARD drive so I can begin to rebuild the PC?

    Hello

I think that you have created the driver & application backup, if this is the case & * if the old HDD is still detected & boots you could create a factroy restore discs, if not then you might even get to store.acer.com.

  • Installation of Windows on a new hard drive

I have a computer I want to get a new, more large hard drive. The vehicle currently has Windows Vista installed on it and the hard drive still works, I just need more space. What should I do to install Windows on the new drive? I will use the installation disc that came with the computer. If I get out the old hard drive, install a new one, put Windows on the new, then format the old one? Basically, I want to avoid having Windows installed on two hard drives to work.

    Hello

the steps you have mentioned are correct:

take out the old hard disk - the new drive hard install - reinstall vista - old erase hard drive

You can then use a the old hard drive to backup your data

and read too much about the displacement of the full to avoid you operating system having to load data and programs again. but then you still wipe the old disk

It might make you save time and effort:

  • Get Windows on my new hard drive

    Hi all

My old hard drive had some problems and he unfortunately passed away. I'm going through data recovery because I wasn't able to back up all files.

However, I also get a new hard drive (SSD this time) and I need a Windows installation file to put Windows on it. I have an Alienware 17. I understand that the product key is in the BIOS itself, but I need to get a setup file of Windows 10. I checked the drivers and downloads Support Page section, but there doesn't seem to be there.

Finally, when I get it, all I need to do is to disable Secure Boot, right?

    Thanks for your time!

You can download Windows 10 of Microsoft as an ISO and then download the drivers from Dell.

  • install windows on a new hard drive

Hi, my laptop has been commissioning so I bought a new hard drive and installed myself. The problem is that I don't have the recovery disks that came with it when we bought it. How can I install windows 7 or vista on the new hard drive.

If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

  • Install windows 7 on new HARD drive without dvd/usb?

I have a laptop (windows 7) which is the HARD drive has failed. I want to buy a new HARD drive and replace the failure, but I have no DVD or USB with windows 7 to install on new HARD drive. I have the product key on the lower part of the machine.

Could someone please offer some advice on how to go about loading the operating system on the new HARD drive. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

You will need to make a DVD or USB key to reinstall the operating system or of order recovery disks

You can contact the manufacturer of your laptop and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

Manufacturers that make normally for a fee.

    Hello

My internal hard drive in my MacBook Pro mid 2012 broke down. So I installed a new hard drive a ST1000LM014 of Seagate 1 TB hybrid discs which according to IFIXIT.com must be compatible.

I then boot the server Apple Macbook and party in disk Utillity to format the hard drive. The hard drive is visible and I'm then in the partition, choose the 1 partition, Mac OS X (journaled) + GUID. But while the partition that I get the error message failed to file system format.

I tried different options in disk Utillity and I am able to format the disk using FAT or ExFat. But it does not help me to use my mac hard drive.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? And it does not seem like a problem with the functionality of the hard drive?
