How to locate a file DSN path (e.g. "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Data Sources\mydata.dsn"changes to C:\Program Files\Fichiers communs\ODBC\Data Sources\mydata.dsn"in French")

Use us the DSN file in our application LabVIEW but have found that, when the application is distributed to Windows XP configured for foreign lanugages (e.g. French), the C:\Program Files\Common Files is localized to something else (for example C:\Program Files\Fichiers common).

How can you change Setup to handle these problems? Or how we can programmatically determine the correct path of common files (i.e. localized) what, so we can copy the DSN files in the folder when the application first runs?

You can also read a large number of paths by using the register screw

The paths are in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders or in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder.

    Any clue?

  • How to locate my file snapshot?

    Hello

I know it's an easy question, but I'm stuck.

I just did a snapshot & there a camera click as noise. (Click on the little icon under the window).

Question is, how do I find the file?

    Thank you very much.

    See you soon

Are you talking about the button to export the image in the program monitor Panel in Premiere Pro?

I suspect that you are not - you actually talk on the button to take a snapshot at the bottom of the Composition Panel in After Effects.

The reason I am confused is that you ask yourself in the Premiere Pro forum, but you mentioned the button making a noise, what happens in After Effects.

Anyway, if you're talking about After Effects, snapshots are not written to disk; This is not what they are for. See the next page.

If you're talking about Premiere Pro, simply click the new button, and you will see the path where exported images are written.

  • How to move the FILE from one place to another and keep "Indexing" have to move to the unknown location so you can't discover its full file path? Windows instructions provide information wrong re: how to do this!

Make a bunch of audio files, placed in a folder on my desktop. Files initially sent to RealPlayer to burn, but when finished burning CD and went to read a CD, folder got seized by Media Player, 'Indexed' and disappeared from the office. I'm a relatively new computer user, and I need to learn more about file paths, how to view the path FULL of a file on my computer and how to type (create) full path when I need to. The "Indexing" feature seems to erase this lesson for me, and after having spent four hours trying to find Vista instructions on "How to move the file from one place to another", I gave up! Windows 'Help and Support' on my computer gives wrong directions. It states that if I right click on a folder > properties, a dialog box opens with a tab by which I can move my account. There is no tab location here. I found locations tab when right click on the "Mobile" folder, but still no option to "move file". No idea what is the folder "Roaming" or why it's on my computer. I want my audio files in the My Music folder, but this place is "access denied." Don't know how to get the audio file it in any case, but if anyone has any advice, I would be very happy! Thank you. PS - I had no problem moving folders in XP. I don't like the idea that a computer is to decide where to put my files. I want to control where I put my files. I don't like the way search works under Vista. I liked the XP search companion better because, for a computer fool like me, it was really easy to organize and find files and folders and had an option specific to find audio and video file TYPES.

Here is an article on how to move your personal folders in Vista: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/moving-your-personal-data-folders-in-windows-vista-the-easy-way/.  If you're talking about the special folders (such as photos, Documents, office...), then here is an article on how to move: http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/95/1/How-to-move-the-special-folders-in-Windows-Vista.html.

If you have trouble with the search after you move the files, then rebuild the index: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/2103/vista_rebuilding_the_search_index/.  Here is an article on how to use Indexing Options in Vista that may be useful for you: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/69581-indexing-options.html.

If the above does not help, your problem seems to relate to the image of the files/folders and their interactions with Media Center (which operate on different other folders).  Please repost your question in images and video Forum at: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistapictures/threads where the people who specialize in issues of the image will be more than happy to help you with your quesitons.

  • How can I copy files from project Waveburner to another internal drive?

How can I copy files from project Waveburner to another internal drive without losing the connection to the files audio orig.?

    Thank you for your time,

Since no one answered my call, I sat and researched and studied WaveBurner behavior and I can myself answer my question and solve. Since there were a lot of people asking similar questions on WaveBurner files I will post what I learned.

Whenever you drop your audio files in the list window to make your WaveBurner CD copy not copy your audio files, but relies on the original audio file, where they are located. So whenever you move the files orig. and you open WaveBurner, it can't find those and displays an error window to suggest it will search for the missing file or if you know where he is now lets you find manually. WaveBurner usually place the .wb3 project file that contains everything including your home folder.

For this reason, I reserve now an audio file WaveBurner also folder in my home folder. In order to save themselves from WaveBurner cannot find the audio file, all audio files that I do, I put in my folder of audio files WaveBurner first, then copy them in WaveBurner from there.

When I need to use a bigger hard drive I copy .wb3-WaveBurner projects based, but also my

Sound folder WaveBurner for the home folder on the new hard drive.

WaveBurner is now all audio files without problem.

I hope that this will be a unique problem to someone else. Happy WaveBurning.

  • Automator - how I got a file zip "with replacement"?

Automator - how I got a file zip "with replacement"?

I have an action that selects a folder - then creates archive in a chosen folder

Currently - it uses the name of the source folder, and then brings new archives every time as:

    My folder.zip

    my zip 1 file

    My 2 zip. folder

I wish there was only a single zip and the new version would ALWAYS OVERWRITE the old.

Q: How can I get what's going on?

or how to do that with applescript?

    Hello

In an Automator workflow, you can use this script in "run AppleScript" action.

    ----

on track {, parameters} - script for Automator

-create an archive in the parent folder, it uses the name of the folder, it overwrites one archive existing and returns the path of the archive

return fileZipper (item 1 of the entry) - entry is a list and it contains the path of the folder

    end of race

    on fileZipper (thisItem)

    tPath thisItem text value

If tPath ends by ":" and then

the value text delimiters oTid point

    the value point text delimiters {"": "}

tPath the text value 1 through the text element - tPath 2

the point text delimiters oTid value

    end if

zip (tPath & ".zip") the value as a text file

shell script "/ usr/bin/Ditto - c k - rsrc - keepParent" & (quoted in the form of tPath POSIX path) & "" & quoted form of POSIX zipFile path ".

return the zip as an alias file

    end fileZipper

    -----

This script create a new archive or overwrite an archive existing with the same name as the folder.

The destination is the parent of the selected folder.

If you want to move this archive to a specific folder, add "move Finder items" action after the action "Run the AppleScript.

  • I need to locate the file one by one?

Normally, I put the iTunes media files on my external drive. But recently, it connects more.

When I try to recreate a link to it, all the music in my iTunes shows "!" and cannot be read. I need to locate the file one by one to make them available again?

There are more than 2,000 + music in my playlist. Are there other ways to locate the whole folder at the same time?

    Thank you very much

It should connect if he did in the past. is it possible that you renamed the drive or folder in the path to the iTunes media.  This, ny the way, is one of the reasons why we suggest to keep a whole library on an external media player only.

If you find an iTunes file should offer to find others as long have you let iTunes organize media in the past.  If this does not work then probably something got renamed on the disc.

  • How can I move files to memory stick using Vista

Can anyone throw any light on my new problem.

I use Windows Vista Home on my Toshiba Satellite 350 and I'm trying to save a file on memory stick.
I find the right file and click on 'send to removable disk '.

I then get an "Item not found" box that contains the message, "

"Could not find this point, this point is no longer in C:\Users\Desktop.
"I (or any place seeking) check the location of the elements, and then try again.
I checked the site and I have the right pair.

I tried several times with different types of files/places and I get a similar message whenever I try to move the file to anywhere, not only the memory stick

I tried dragging the files to the box and get the same message, copy and paste do not work I still get the same message?

    Anything I'm doing wrong?

    Are you kidding me?
You n t know how copy/move the files on the other machine?

You must mark the file, and then press CTRL + X (shortened for CUP) then go on the memory stick and open it. Press CTRL + V (paste).

  • How can I prevent files are deleted from others?

I have a Mac computer that is used in public, but I'm trying to secure a file to prevent others to remove it. And, if possible, I don't want anyone to open the files. I looked online for solutions; I looked on that you are supposed to put a password on it with a .dmg file using disk utility. I don't want to create a .dmg file, I want the folder itself must be blocked because it is used by other applications. How can I do?

Hi, a useful recommendation is to make all of these invisible files, for that you will need to use the Terminal.

    Here are the instructions:

Launch Terminal from/applications/utilities/and use the following command syntax:

    chflags nohidden /path/to/hide/file.txt

If you know the path to the file just type yourself. If you do not, follow it drag & drop methodto automatically enter the full path in the Terminal, just be sure to file in after the original order and then press the return key:

    chflags hidden [DRAG FILE HERE]

This will hide your folders or files.

    To view these files do:

At any time you can view the file with the following chflags command:

    chflags nohidden /path/to/hide/file.txt

This means that after the stop at using the computer enter these commands on the terminal and hide them. The user after that you won't be able to see them (unless he knows how to view the files, but in this case, it must be specifically looking for your files). And when you return simply enter the command to the unhide them.

If there is a lot of files trying to group them all on a folder, and this folder hiding, which will automatically hide all content

  • How to delete the files from my HP ePrint app after download / print?

Can someone tell me how to delete the files from my HP ePrint app after that I downloaded and printed. Thank you

    jmsandkds,

I apologize for the confusion. Options you speak of "photos, web and file" are located on the phone somewhere, lets say you click files. When you click on files, it will search the phone for available files that are able to print the ePrint app. To the extent where they are on the phone, you will need to search for them via the search screen, connection to the computer, or some files are program specific and only available in this program to be read, edited, or deleted.

    I hope this helps.
