  What is the Word document you want to make a copy, or the PDF? In both cases, you can choose file > save as (in the appropriate application) and give the file a new name. For example, if you have a file named "HappyTimes.docx", you can choose file > save as and name the file "HappyTimes2.docx." Then you will have two Word files, and you can change one and leaving the others intact.

  It's like that since (at least) 2 LR. There was a bug in 3.0 or 3.2 (can't remember which), where the extra folder has not been created, but that has been "fixed."

  Hello - when I try to "Make a second copy" during import, destinations are limited to my office and the area 'My images' of the C: drive.  This is what appears in the list when I go to "choose folder".  My library used to be located on the C: drive but is no more, and I would like to save a copy on an external drive.  Am I missing something obvious?  Thank you!

  Here's an idea. In the field at the bottom of this dialog that says "file:", enter the full address of the disc to the folder you want, for example, "G:/photos/2010/11/18". " See if that clears up your problem.

  Let us know if it works (or not). This bug is quite rare, but I've seen complaints about the front on this forum.

  I put the new drive as SATA port 0 (or 1, depending on where your begins).

  Should work just fine. It will automatically affect the C: drive. Just make sure that it is configured to start first in the BIOS (won't matter on the drive letter, but you don't want a start - they look identical other than the disk space).

  Did I miss something in the import dialog box new version 6.2? In previous versions of Lightroom, there was a possibility to perform a backup copy, or the second, imported files. If this function is gone, or I'm looking in the wrong places?

  I don't think you understand the concept of Lightroom. The settings are stored in the catalog. They are not applied to the images. The catalog is the key. If the images in the main location are damaged or lost, then you can copy the backup images at that location and any adjustments that have been made will be implemented. The main thing you want to be sure to do is have a backup of your catalog, as well as a backup of your images. You can export copies of your images as JPEG, PSD or TIF images, and these copies will have all the adjustments included.

  Yes the OEM license, like most, came with the laptop you only allows it to be
  installed on this computer. There are vendors with retail versions of Windows 7
