How to move iTunes to support SSD drive on secondary disk files

Hello

I think the title pretty much everything said. My SSD drive app fills and although I have three drives in my desktop Mac PRO somehow the artwork & mobile apps are like 20 gigs. The music files are in a secondary drive. What is the best way to move all the files to support the HUGE secondary disk so I don't understand all of a sudden the dreaded exclamation point?

Thank you

Enio

10.11.4 running

In essence, you must keep the support files in the folder as the iTunes music files, then let iTunes knows where they are located.

It is better than the iTunes folder everything will be moved to the external drive, not just the music and media files. The link below is instructions on how to do it properly. You "partially" here, but you should still be able to follow them, to make the move.

  • How to move Win7Pro from my HARD drive to a new SSD

I am running Windows 7 Professional on a desktop Dell 560. The software that I use for astroimaging involves math matrix on piles of large images (~ 30 MB each) in "battery" 8 to 20 images to resolve fine detail. Doing this on the existing HARD disk is tedious, with a deconvolution race take from 50 to 90 minutes with a profusion of disk read/write cycles. I want to change the operating system of a new SSD with the software. Is there a way to legitimately transfer the OS and other applications for the SSD? I'm guessing that copying simply of the C: existing to the SSD drive to prove unsuccessful.

    Did he do that?

    SSD of cloning:

You can clone the installation for the SSD, provided that the SSD is large enough to accommodate the installation to be cloned.

See http://www.ssdfreaks.com/content/664/how-to-clone-hdd-to-ssd-with-windows-7s-own-software or (easier) use a trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2012.

Note that, immediately after cloning, you must stop and unplug the original installation. The disc can be reconnected once the DSS started successfully.

    Hello everyone,

I'm considering buying an SSD to replace the old hard isk of my Satellite A500 - 14K with an SSD.
I have a question: it's going to be that simple:
-excerpt from my old hard drive
    -Insert the SSD 2.5 "
-use the recovery DVD to reinstall vista and w7

Is this laptop * tatooed * which would prevent this kind of replacement?

    Hello

In most cases is not a big problem for the SSD drive works correctly.
I made these updates on my old Toshiba laptop and it worked normally.

Sometimes, it would be possible that an SSD would not be recognized in the BIOS. Such compatibility problem could be linked to the SSD drive firmware, but it happens in very rare circumstances

  • How to move or libraries folder C drive to another drive of card

It is probably a "no brainer" for most.  But I would like to book my C drive strictly for Applications and operating systems.  How do I move/card my existing libraries folder (Documents, music, photos, videos &) on to another drive?  Is it as simple as 'cut & paste '?

But with the contents of libraries, then settled how include you these files during a routine backup of Windows? I backup on a NAS drive.

    Thank you

    John B.

Libraries are virtual folders. A library gathers files from different locations and displays them as a single collection, without moving them from where they are stored.

You can store files on the other disk and include them in your libraries. Links for more information:

I just finished building a new computer based on a Gigabyte GA - Z77N WiFi mini motherboard with a processor i5-3570, 16 GB of memory and a 128 GB SSD OCZ and 3 x WD 2 TB HDD green. The safest option is to use the option to set the location of each of the libraries. Although the profile would remain in the C:\Users folder the mylibraryname can be moved.

Open the users folder (double-click the user name in the upper right of the Start Menu) right-click on each folder and select Properties. With these directories that support this feature, one of the tabs should be the place, he has the opportunity to move the folder. She will also take care of the move for the files in the folder as well as internal links sort in the folder. I have an SSD in my laptop and have used this option to move my library of music 120 GB on the HARD disk. Not all folders in the user profile has this option but the keys don't.

This is not a complete solution because the hidden AppData folder cannot be done in the same way, and this can become very large. If you use Outlook, you can move the .pst file manually, and if you want to really technical HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList contains the path to the Users directory.

  • How to move iTunes on another computer account

I'll try to do this quickly.

    1. try to get my spouse iTunes music all together the old backups and what was on iTunes, I've changed my own iTunes registration on my computer to his iTunes account.

    2. I received a message saying that I could pass the account after 90 days!

    3. I intend to it switch back to her computer or her immediately on iPad get it re-setup.

    4. question: is it possible and I can get my iTunes on my computer account without waiting 90 days?

Thanks for any help on this.

Your iTunes Store (Apple ID) account is not linked to any particular computer.  When you run iTunes, you should be able to connect using any Apple ID.

There is a separate step, permission that allows a computer to play iTunes media that uses DRM (copy protection).  Currently, types of media such as movies and TV shows use DRM.  A computer can be allowed with several Apple ID.  There is no need to "change" permission to one Apple ID to another.  The authorization is made from the menu bar, under store-> authorize this computer.

I don't know any other process of 'recording' involving a id Apple and a computer.  Could you give more details...?

  • How to move photos to external hard drive with Photoshop Elements Organizer 9 - Mac user

I managed to move a few pictures using the organizer of an external hard drive as a trial but has noticed that photos are all stored directly on the hard drive external and not kept in the subfolders they are on my hard drive. Is there a way to keep them in subfolders - which is in fact for most of the records showing the date they were taken.

I also noticed that PES 9 organizing is very slow - I have a lot of pictures and a lot in the first - over 21000. Is it better to use them for LR catalog?

Last question, everyone has experienced problems since the upgrade to the Mavericks when using PSE9? Is there a solution? I read that upgrade to Yosemite has improved the operation of PSE9, but after my previous experience with the upgrade to the Mavericks I'm not in a hurry to upgrade.

  • How to get links into folders to drive C (startup disk) to refer to items stored on drive D (storage only)?

    Good afternoon.

My apologies for what is probably a very simple question, but unfortunately I've had encephalytis, have a very bad memory and if forgot a lot of my computer knowledge since the last set up a new computer several years ago.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, I count a lot on IT with my State and so decided to update my old computer with something faster and capable. I built myself a new computer recently, with two disks in mirror of SS for initializing and launching the software, as I wanted the fastest answer for these functions. Then I have two hard drives mirrored 10 000 rpm, which I intend to use only for storage - documents, photos, music... etc. This system has Windows 7 Professional installed.

This is where my memory is me drop.

I need to know how to start the shortcuts from the menu links and desktop which currently refer to the 'My Documents', 'My music', 'My videos' records and so forth that Windows created on the C drive and instead, ask them to refer to folders on the drive D. I tried the expediency of simple cut and paste the files in question in D drive hoping that Windows would automatically follow that change and create the links required, but this does not seem to happen. In any case, doing so caused problems, and I needed wipe the readers and to reload the operating system and all of my software again.

Moreover, that Windows has already been reference to the files on the C drive, is possible to keep this association - as this is what Windows expects and would likely stop the least - but create links between files on drives C and D, so that when the folders on drive C are accessible through my desktop shortcuts they refer to the content of the folders on drive D? If possible, I would greatly appreciate a detailed guide, step by step on how to implement, as I can just remember how to do this.

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Stephen Wallace.

Moving most of the shell, such as My Documents/photos/music/videos folders, should automatically update the location.  For example, if you drag the My Documents folder to another drive, it will go there.  You can still see the icon under C:\Users\Stephen\, but all the files you put in there will reside on the other disk.

Another way to accomplish the same task is right click on the shell folder, choose Properties, and then move it to the location tab.
Another option is the Windows 7 libraries.  You can create your own folder on your drive to another, then right click on your document library to include this file and use it as for the library's default save location.  Every time that you save in the library, he actually be saved on the other drive, yet easily accessible in the library.
    • I have an example on my site on the use of SkyDrive as a default save location so that the files that you store in your library will actually store up to storage online instead.  The same steps to configure your other drive as storage location.  See the steps or watch the video here: http://skeene.net/tech/sync-your-libraries-to-skydrive/
  • Anno 2015: How to stop itunes songs from AutoPlay 12.3 when importing files

Each year or if, after several itunes upgrades half of my library deteriorated to the point where the images and files have disappeared, so I reload to everything new.

The problem: every 100' th file (or almost) begins to play, so I get a cacophony of music marketing, and I can't do anything with video or sound for hours.

I would like to delete this.

I want to import any file into itunes and nothing start playing.

Thus, it was suggested on these forums , downgrade to some pre - V10 itunes. I prefer not to do so.

Other options hereand here suggested MAC forums this installation of Safari then uncheck "safe autoplay downloaded files" are the key to success. Well, no such Safari in Wondows 10 and versions windowsified of Techspot et al do not seem to do the trick.

So for itunes V12.3 or later version on Win10, how can I prevent what it is loaded in the library of auto play?

    THX.

A common cause of this behavior is files .m3u being present in the files that are added to the library. You can remove these first. Or you can use iTunes folder Watch.
