  • Best way to download from several devices to display in chronological order

Help! Am in transition in Picasa (R.I.P.) and have about 15 photos of k. I never really had it to have a folder structure that would allow images from several cameras/phones to display in chronological order for devices. It is a large part of the reason I want a ditch Picasa and start over. So, I usually take photos on the go with my iphone (and my husband did the same thing), then pull occasional events with my digital SLR. Only, I have download my phone all a few months (and have never uploaded her because I'm afraid of 300 records + that would be created if I do this wrong and impossible to sort them by date, as well as mine), but usually, I download the SLR as soon as I am done taking pictures. I want all the images to view by date taken with the phone properly interspersed pictures in the sequence. Please tell me that this is possible and share your method for naming folders and downloads to do it! Thank you very much.

When I opened the uploader, it appears to be scanning the entire file "My pictures" regardless of if I uncheck. May be just a problem with my computer slow obsolete, but is this normal?

Check in the file menu of the Organizer if the 'My pictures' folder is mentioned in the 'watched folders '. If this is the case, remove it; You can have an empty list of watched folders; you simply set the search manually with the button "Get photos and videos. You select a folder, and you can import new files (those already imported should be ignored).

  • Messages not displayed in chronological order

I am running OS X El Capitan (10.11) on a Macbook Pro - end 2011 edition.

How can I get my text messages appear in chronological order on my Messages app?

It shows that I have new messages and I can go directly to them by right click (or control + click) on the Messages icon, but I would like for them to display in chronological order as they do on my iPhone. Used to automatically be in chronological order, he got all wacky when I upgraded to OS X El Capitan.

  • How to organize files in columns

I am new to Windows and need help to organize files. I'm on Windows 7 on a desktop computer running on a shared server. I'm not using libraries, all of our files are stored on a server. My question is this, when I expand the window to display a list of the files of several columns, they are ordered from left to right across the columns instead of top to dress up from the bottom of the next column. I figured out how left click and extract the sort options, but I don't know how to fix this sort order.

The setting you want to study is 'View' rather than ' sort by '.

In Windows 7, you have the choice between "Icons" (several sizes), list, details, tiles and content.

Icons and tiles appear in the columns from left to right

List gives you the columns that go up and down and then wrap to the next column

Details you give a long back at the top of the list below

If you use the view menu instead of right-clicking, you will be able to choose which discovers the columns you want to include in the "details".

  • How can I keep the messages in chronological order, rather than having grouped them by sender name?

After I opened a message, when I then refer to my Inbox, I find it has been grouped with other messages, by sender or subject line. As far as I know I do not ask for this and the messages stay in my Inbox in the chronological order in which they are received.

  • How to organize files on the hard drive? (Not in collection). Lightroom 6, Macintosh

In Lightroom-6 I want to start to organize photos on the hard drive ("issues").

(At a later stage, I want to import photos from years back as well).

I want to organize in "Years" and "month".

    from pictures of the year 2004: I want to create a folder named '2004' in this '2004' - folder I want to create subfolders 12 (months) appointed etcetera 2004-01, 2004-02, 2004-03, 2004-04. (01 = January, 02 = February 03 = March, etc.).

    It should look like this:

    2004

    > 2004-01

    > 2004-02

    > 2004-03

    > 2004-04

In the LR - app, I think that I am not able to create folders on the hard disk. I created folders in the "masters of Lightroom" - folder, but he won't show as expected in the LR - under 'Files' app after you start Lightroom.

Before you begin to move the photos to the new folders created, I want to assure you the LR - app can still find later.

Anyone got a good method or perhaps a statement-link? Other advice most welcome as well.

    Thank you!

The import dialog box may create the calendar folder based upon import photos that are organized differently in the existing folders. Use the MOVE or COPY option. The instructions are here (see section 5): https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/help/import-photos-video-catalog.html

In addition to the above, you can also organize using keywords.

  • Can I is more to organize files in a completely random order personalized in a folder in Windows 7?

I work with large folders of images.  In Vista Ultimate, I can rearrange/move (drag & drop) images randomly a way completely customized IN a folder.  In Windows 7 Home Edition Premium, it seems that it is impossible. I have only options to order the images in a folder by selecting certain criteria.  It's terrible for my workflow that I have to order images by a personal aesthetic - I can't be numbering and renumbering 100 + images, for example to put them in a particular order I want & then change my mind when there may be > 100 images in the folder. My first day of work on this OS & I am screaming!

  • Organize files and folders by date

Now I know how to organize folders and files by created date, simply click on the tab and Explorer sorts.

My question is how to organize files and folders together in date?

If I remember right under win95 or 98 of time things were fixed that... Anyone know how?

    Thank you!

Right click on a place empty and try the option "Group by", which groups them by date.  For example, all changed yesterday is in a group of "yesterday".

    Two questions:

How can I put my photos in chronological order?

How to put photos in different folders?

    Thank you very much!!!

Thanks for posting your questions about Microsoft Community.
To help you better could you please clarify a number of things like:
    1. you try to change the default location where your pictures are saved?
    2. you are trying to run out of your pictures in cronological order?
    3. you try this in Windows live Photo Gallery or Photo Live Tile or file Explorer app (for example the folder my pictures)?

    4. you try to export photos from any external hard drive?

However, I suggest that you do the following if you want to sort by Group by and reorganize by elements in the Windows Explorer 8:

To set the view for column ' sort by ' for items in a folder or library in the file Explorer

    1. in the file Explorer, open a folder or library that you want to sort the items in a column in and do step 2 or 3 below.
2 click/tap on the view tab, click on/tap on sort by in the Ribbon, select (dot) retail (ex: name) you want to sort items by and then go to step 4 below. (see screenshot below)
    3. right click or press on and hold on an empty area in the open folder or library, click/click on sort by, select the detail you want articles to be sorted by and proceed to step 4 below.
NOTE: If you wish, you may click/click on more to add more options.
    4. If you want to sort the items in ascending or descending order, you can do step 4a or 4B below.
NOTE: Ascending is the default setting.
    (A) click/click on the column name in the bar of the column until the name ascending or descending by name how you want.
    (B) repeat step 2 or 3 above and select Ascending or descending.
    5. If you wish, you can also do OPTION TWO, THREE or FOUR below for further match the elements in this point of view if you wish.

To set the column view "group by" items in a folder or library in the file Explorer

    1. in the file Explorer, open a folder or library that you want to group the items in a column in and do step 2 or 3 below.
2 click/tap on the view tab, click on/tap group by in the Ribbon, select (dot) retail (ex: Type) you want items to be grouped by and go to step 4 below.
    3. right click or press on and hold on an empty area in the open folder or library, click/click on group, select the detail you want articles to be grouped by and go to step 4 below.
    4. If you want to sort the items in ascending or descending order, you can do step 4a or 4B below.
    (A) click / tap on the column name in the column bar until the name of the ascendant: ascendant views: size: or descending name: views: size: set how you want.
    (B) repeat step 2 or 3 above and select Ascending or descending.
    5. If you wish, you can also make ONE OPTION, THREE or FOUR for further match the elements in this point of view if you wish.
