How to pin programs in my taskbar?

I have old stuff in my taskbar, how do I get rid of them, please? One in particular is a program that I deleted since then, but is still pinned to the taskbar. I am running Windows XP Pro SP 3.0 V.5.1.2600.  I checked programs that I did not know which option to choose, sorry if I chose the one badly!
Alert, old person wrote, please be specific with your answers.

Thank you
Sylvia

If you are using XP, they are not pinned. Either right-click it and delete, or just left click and drag them from the taskbar on the desktop.

  • Pinning programs to the taskbar shortcut in Windows 7 HP

    Hello world

I have a bit of a problem here. Not a long time with that I bought a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop 2250em ago provided Windows 7 Home Premium. When I first booted the device and went the pit installation process I first installed Mozilla Firefox and anchored in the quick bar without hassle. Simple drag / move. For a long time and then I didn't have the need to locate anything else.

The problem is that now I have this need and simply cannot reject what it to be more on the shortcut bar. Not even original Windows 7 applications (Calculator, Paint, etc.). I have full admin on the computer rights, can I install or change anything if it is not a problem. Restore the partition will not do in my case, because I'm not going to that excess. If someone had a similar problem and knows what could be a problem, I've wrapped really appreciate the help. Here is the screenshot so you can see what it looks like when I'm trying to identify an aplication on the shortcut bar.

I finally found a solution to the problem, and it seems that I am responsible for.

The first thing I do when installing windows (any version) removes the IsShortcut registry string (fact icon arrows disappear). When done in windows 7 it's PIN to the context menus for taskbar and and drag disabled pinning superbar.

The prosblem is fixed, you can close the topic.

Ty all for trying to help.

  • Can't pin the program to the taskbar.

Ive been try instructions on how programs PIN over the taskbar, but I can't.  I clicked on the start menu and right click on the program I have to pin, but no 'Code Pin to the taskbar' option. I also tried to drag the program on the taskbar, but it did not work. What will I do?

Sorry, but that's the wrong answer. Absolutely NO program (executable file) would PIN to the taskbar. I found out why and would like to present this as the correct answer to anyone having this problem. This is because I removed the arrows on the icons on the desktop, thanks to a program called "Wise Fixer." If you choose to provide these arrows on the icons you can then pin any program to the taskbar again. Go figure.

  • How do I "pin" icon in my taskbar?

I can't work out how to pin the icon of security of microsoft for my taskbar.

The taskbar has two areas. The right is the area of 'Notification '. To pin shortcuts to some
This area, I think that the program must have an option to do so in its settings.

The first option to pin on the left side of the taskbar is not always available, but
This is achieved by R / click on the shortcut and select "Pin to Taskbar" in the context menu.

Another option to pin a shortcut to the taskbar is to R / click on the taskbar and,.
If the option "Lock the taskbar" has a tick mark next to it, select this setting to unlock the taskbar
    (clears the tick mark).
You should then be able to drag a shortcut to the taskbar from the desktop
    It is in the taskbar.

When a folder is dragged to the taskbar it will be pinned to the Windows Explorer
R / click on jump list.
I think that you can have a maximum of only 11 shortcuts on the WE jump list
(unless I missed a setting to make the longer list).

You can also control panel pin items to the Control Panel icon in the taskbar by
a shortcut and drag it from the desktop to the CP icon on the taskbar.

  • How to pin folders and files to the taskbar?

I have a few updates from XP to Windows 7.  How to pin folders and files to the taskbar?  I got a lot of these in my XP Quick Launch bar.

    Mike

PIN Windows Explorer in the taskbar and you can right click to get your recently viewed files.

You can also add toolbars to the taskbar.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows7/add-a-toolbar-to-the-taskbar

A toolbar can be any folder in Windows Explorer. So you can put any selection of files to a user created folder and access these files quickly thanks to a simple icon in your taskbar.

However, don't go overboard you can quickly run out of space on the taskbar. My toolbars are interspersed between the program pinned to the taskbar, tasks and links with the Noification area to the right. The section of the program will go to a second line below according to the needs and so you can limit the space allocated to programs if you wish.

The task bar are designed to pin the programs only, not files or folders.  If you pin a file or a folder, it is added to the menu for the associated program.

For example, pinning a photo would add to the list for the photo program.  Pin a letter would add to the list for Microsoft Word (or your document program).

A folder is added to the top of the file Explorer program:

In addition, sometimes, one of program buttons seems in itself to migrate out of place and I need to get back to where it should be: same problem.

    Hi shohareZohre

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers Forums!

The task bar is the horizontal bar at the bottom of your screen time. In contrast to the office, which can get obscured by the windows on top of it, the taskbar are visible nearly all the time. It includes four main sections:

    ·         The Start button, which opens the start menu.

    ·         The Quick Launch bar, which allows you to start programs with a single click.

    ·         The middle section, which shows you what programs and documents you have open and allows you to quickly switch between them.

    ·         The notification area, which includes a clock and icons (small pictures) that communicate the status of certain programs and computer settings.

Add or remove programs on the Quick Launch toolbar

The Quick Launch toolbar is located on the task bar and is a convenient way to open programs. You can add or remove program icons in the Quick Launch toolbar so that you have easy access to the programs that you use frequently.

To add a program icon to the Quick Launch toolbar

Click the icon for the program to add (you can find most icons of programs on the start menu or the desktop) and then drag it to the Quick Launch toolbar.

Note: If you don't see the toolbar tools quick launch, right-click on an empty area of the taskbar, click Toolbars, and then click quick launch.

To remove a program to the Quick Launch toolbar icon

Right-click on the icon of the program and then click Remove.

Notes: ·         Delete an icon from the taskbar does not remove its corresponding computer program.

    ·         If you want to stop showing a toolbar on the taskbar, right-click an empty area of the taskbar, point to toolbars, and then click the item that you want to stop broadcasting.

NOTE: The ability to move the programs in the taskbar is not possible in windows Vista but the same functionality is available in Windows 7. Please see the link below.
