How to prevent Windows 8 using data

I live in the country without ADSL connection available. I bought a new computer pre-installed with windows 8 2 days and have used nearly a month of data limit in these 2 days. I am really annoyed that there is not a simple set of instructions on disabling applications that are constantly refreshing and the skydrive which is constantly synchronization and the use of our very expensive Wi - Fi we pay a motza, simply because there is no alternative. Someone else feels the same way? Can Microsoft please tell us what can and cannot be deleted so that we can enjoy our new technologies without be totally cheated by this last? Thank you.

You can simply set your connection as a 'meter' connection so that Windows knows to not make any non-essential data transfer.  Your OneDrive will make a break no matter what synchronization process, tiles will not refresh with new data (as the news and weather auto-refresh will not more every 30 minutes and will wait for you open the app yourself) and updates will not be downloaded until you ask for them.

Basically, anything you want.  Learn how Windows 8 or 8.1 Windows here.

The Microsoft Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool is designed for the installation of Windows 7, is not for the installation of XP.

  • How to uninstall Windows XP, save data and re-install Windows XP

My computer is running very slowly; Some programs take literally minutes to appear. I have the disks so I figure I'll uninstall and reinstall. I would like to save the data of losing it; address of e-mail etc. Do not know how to proceed. Thanks for any comments.

Technically speaking, you uninstall an operating system as such, you just format the drive where it is installed and then install another OS or use the drive for anything you want.  This is the easiest part, just start the computer with your CD of Windows XP and the disk & partition selection screen, select the partition where you want to install Windows XP, and then format the NTFS partition and proceed with the Windows installation.  Very important: make sure you have the Windows XP product key BEFORE you to format the Windows installation!  Without the key, you will not be able to install Windows XP.  If you have lost the key, it can be retrieved the operational facility before formatting it.  You must also have the latest drivers for your as motherboard and chipset at hand, these are the first drivers you need to install after installing Windows, then you normally install video drivers and other drivers.  It helps a lot if you know what hardware is installed and if you have the drivers on hand or that you know at least that the manufacturer has them available on their site.

Save your settings and personal data may be a little harder, if all your web browsing is done with Internet Explorer and if all your e-mail is done with Outlook Express you can use the files and Settings Transfer Wizard to save these settings and files and then restore them to the new facility.  If you use another browser or web e-mail program and then saving those settings and files will depend on programs.

With regard to your personal information only you can know or decide what should be saved, usually most of your data would be in your profile (C:\Documents and Settings\Votre user name) folder, but we all know that most of the users themselves with data stored outside the profile folder, you should know where your data is and then back up to CD DVD, s, external or second internal drive or another computer on your network.  If you ask me the safest way is to clone the hard disk whole or all but the Windows folder on a second hard drive to backup.

PS: It's also things go much faster if you first download Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3 and burn them on a CD beforehand.  Install them AFTER installing the drivers.  (You have SP1 or SP2 installed prior to installing SP3, you can install SP2 without SP1).  He's going to win a lot of time when you go to the Windows Update site if the installation is already upgraded to SP3.

  • How to deploy Windows XP using MDT 2012

Hi, I would like to use 2012 MDT to deploy Windows XP on our workstations.

I recently started this new job and our deployment server is dead. The system was not subject to return so I'll have to re - build the server from scratch. Fortunately the previous database of the server was saved because it was located on a separate SQL Server.
As I am new to the whole process, I tried to find some online resources to configure MDT and the MDT database. I would like to use the MDT database to get information from the PC and automate the configuration of PC host names, DOMAIN join and set the local administrative password. We use a password for local administrator separated for each workstation. This was previously defined in the MDT database and it would be configured on the workstation during the deployment.
Can someone help with this configuration or direct me to a guide on how to proceed?

  • How to prevent windows automaticlly maxamizing?

    I use Windows 7.

And my problem is that if I move a window to the top, it maximizes automatically which is annoying because this isn't what I want at all.

Also, when I increase the size of a window that automatically, it gets bigger that I intend to.

I really want to make this stop as it is incredibly annoying. So, how can I stop this from happening? Thank you.

You can do this, but you lose the ability to "break" a window on the right side of the screen to slam by-side.

If this is correct, here's how:

    1. Open the Start menu and type "automatic setting.
    2. Choose the option 'disable the automatic arrangement of windows' which opens.

I guess you could write a .vbs (VBScript) file and run it from your Java program. Some examples of using this approach to solve other problems.

My html code for integration of Windows Media Player in Firefox but not IE 8 problems recently developed framework. The player displays correctly at the beginning, but then repositions and resizes. It seems that my width setting is to honor, but not my height adjustment. Also, autoplay = "false" (or "0") is also not honored the video starts playing after the repositioning and resizing. I tried different code for integration with the same result. • How to find "program last used date" W7 - works on XP & Vista

    Works in XP & Vista

Used to be able to say when the last used program on in programs and features, and if it were not needed, I uninstalled the program.

Added "last used on" field in "Control Panel, all the elements of Control Panel, program and feature, uninstall or change a program".

Field never fills, some in W7 features must be turned on the fact?

Is there another place to find the answer?

If the program does not provide this information itself, add/remove programs is forced to guess.

The problem is that there is no "obvious" way to map an entry in the Add/Remove Programs list on a real program. Each entry in the list, for those who are interested in these things, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    \Software
      \Microsoft

        \CurrentVersion
         \Uninstall

  • How to install windows 8 using an product key OEM (under construction)

Hello everyone. I bought a computer laptop sony vaio about a year ago and he had 8 integrated windows which clrealy means that the product key is embedded in the motherboard. Now the thing is I want to dual boot with ubuntu and use it alongside windows 8.1 (that I've updated 8) and the ubuntu installation went a little worse. When I went to reinstall I erased by mistake my hard drive and all I was left with was an operating system reinstalled ubuntu.  Now I know that the product key for the windows kernel 8 is in my motherboard, so I want to install windows 8 on it, but it seems that there is no way I can get the iso standard for installation. I tried to use the 'upgrade of windows with a single product key' by Microsoft after the extraction of my key by using a program, but it says my key cannot be used to obtain a version of windows.

Im stuck pretty bad here now, and any help would be appreciated. -There should be a solution because after all I don't have a genuine product key-

As you probably know, most of the machines are supplied with recovery disks more, they just put in another partition on the hard drive.  Sometimes, you can get this in now shift while clicking the option restart from the menu of the power.

Given that, most of the manufacturers have prepared with their own solutions. My computer Vaio from Sony has a button of special pinhole that I had to press with a paper clip to enter into recovery mode.  Other manufacturers have other options, some require a USB thumbdrive to enter recovery, or a CD.

At this point, you probably want to contact your manufacturer to find out which method of recovery they use.  I hate to bring bad news, but they'll probably say "why did not a recovery USB disk? (as if someone creates their own set of disks of repair when they receive a new computer).

Help a friend with a Dell laptop (did not have a problem, but wanted to install a pure one)

passing), Dell sent us a free night FedEx ship from a restore CD. The manufacturer of your can be so nice. I know that Sony was not. If the recovery of my Vaio button didn't work, they wanted $60 for a CD!

Anyway, the manufacturer is your best bet, that now, if you don't have a USB self made for recovery.

  • How to tell windows to use the hardware embedded product key when it changes on Windows 8

I just did a clean install of Windows 8 on a laptop that I bought with Windows pre-installed on it. For this I used a windows key, I bought last year and that I currently use on another computer.

What I want to do is to change my product key and get Windows 8 to use the one built into the motherboard instead of the one that I had to enter during installation.
    Any suggestion?
    Thank you!

The key embedded can be used only with the support of recovery of the manufacturers. You can not use with retail media.
