rThen your question isn't specific to Windows 7, you must consult the manufacturer. You should be able to disable the USB via the BIOS ports. Also, why do you want to set the optical drive as read only? If it is shared? If so, the advanced sharing disk properties, from there, you can set permissions on the drive. You simply copy the files where they are on your
hard drive to the flash drive. The process is exactly the same as
copy data to another HDD or a place on a
    hard drive to another location.

There is more than one way to do it, but the two most common are

  • AS3 how can you detect if someone shoots their camera into the USB port?

In AS3 if the SWF Gets a hold of the camera of someone successfully and they begin streaming video everywhere and everything, but then halfway, either they wiggle accidentally their camera into the USB port, or the camera just sort breaks down, or something like that, how can detect you on the user side?  I tried using event listeners and different variables of Mark also every five seconds, but none worked. any of the public properties of the camera or its events seem to be acting funny of all when something happens like that.  And apparently you can just keep analysis the computer for devices (for a good reason, I suppose).

Is there something I'm missing here?  Is it possible to detect the copy of a user of a SWF file (PF or AIR, but much more important still FP) when their camera has effectively stopped as the result of something goes wrong, like them what she wiggling the computer by mistake?  If so, how?  Thank you!

Run your code and disconnect your camera. What are the common properties of it? Stop your flow? To return only a framework of specific color? These things can be used to detect, but you are right when you say that you can not detect more than a loss of packets from a NetStream object.

IF your system has recognized your device, you can view the device in Control Panel > Device Manager > then open your particular device from the list of the connected device then details > description of the system > hardware ID > then you can find here the code from your provider.

Try this. I think that your device is connected to loosen. What USB device you are using? Also, you must install THE DRIVER FOR YOUR USB DEVICE.

The error that you received can be for several reasons. I suggest you try the following steps:

Method 1: Run the fixit available in the link below and check if that makes a difference

Tips for solving problems of USB devices

Method 2: This normal matter as a result of a conflict between the USB and other USB (Universal Serial Bus) connected to the computer.

    (a) disconnect all the external devices connected to the computer to expect the mouse and keyboard, check if your USB key works.

    (b) If this solves the problem, and then add back both devices until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue.

If the problem persists, you can contact the manufacturer of the device for any known issues

  • How to assign a constant name 'letter' to the USB port?

My Compaq Presario with Windows 7 has two USB ports on the front and on the back.  I use both to the front to connect a drive hard ext to the back, usb flash drives and a camera. Everytime Iplug in the disk hard ext, the PC assigns a letter to port such as J.  The next time I plug the camera into the same port, the PC gives it a different letter and I need to go back up and reconfigre Norton where to back up.  How to assign a constant name 'letter' to the USB port?

I think that the previous answer may have been cut off, but they were right. You assign it a letter on the USB port, you assign a letter to the device. With your drive plugged, if you right-click on the computer icon and select manage you will arrive at the computer management screen. Click the disk management icon and you should see your drive listed. Right click on that and you should see a choice to change the drive letter and path. From there, click change and select a drive letter for your device.
