How to put pictures into folders?

All my photos (all 500 +) are all mixed up on one page. I want to organize them in individual cases. I already have the files and that you named... So HOW do the pictures in the files? !!! I feel stupid to ask, but I've tried everything I can think of to... Thanks in advance

In the Explorer > libraries > photos you will find may be easier to click on the drop down arrow in the high rt in the window and arrange by list

You will then see the files from there, you drag the file into the required folder

Or you rt click on the file and choose "move to folder".

  • Renaming of files and put pictures into folders

Hello, I use Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I have a problem when you rename a file that I created. This is a file with several folders inside and when I try to rename, I gives me an error message "destination folder access denied" I don't seem to have this problem with my other records. I have also problems causing pictures in some of the folders inside the main folder. THIS error message says "Destination path too Long" I don't know if the 2 problems are related. Can someone help me with this? Thank you!

The problem is not with folders - Vista does not use the read-only attribute to control access to files.  This is a permissions problem.  You have sufficient rights to do more that just read the files (or you have still much more right)?  Some areas of Vista are protected even from administrators (junction http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb968829 (VS.85) .aspxpoints) and are marked read-only or access denied.  If you try to access the files of another user, you can get read-only access or you can even be denied access - or you can have full access (depending on how the permissions are set).

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • put pictures into folders when files aren't there.

When I clicked on the icon from photo gallery, I used to obtain records on the left side and the photos, I had just picked up or downloaded on the right so I could move the photos to folders approptiate and was sand... find animals picures, winter landscapes, weddings etc photos easily. Way, the folders containing the photos aren't next to the mass of photos and it takes forever to scroll down to find the inefficient image I want. How to bring back the files?

I hope it's relatively simple difficulty... It looks like that your settings may have been changed unintentionally.

What you should look for is in the screenshot below (I believe the default is 'date' but you want to 'record').

  • How to put restrictions into the laptop using the domain?

Hey! I want to know how to put the restriction in my laptop using the domain. While I may restrict the use of the USB into my laptop?

    Can U help with this.
    Kaifi Asif

I am not sure that the use of a domain is specific to the type of restriction being attempted.

A pindrive is usually a USB type device that is inserted into your local system. With this ability, or other devices can be inserted and used. Areas tend to assign all of your computer to a specific network, usually hosted by your company or the cloud. Areas rarely restrict the use of the material.

For material restrictions, your company or other provider will usually deploy a security product for your local device. It can be configured to prevent the use of the spindle-disks, external hard drives or other types of media that allow the storage and retrieval of information; all by allowing the use of devices without storage type (types of wireless keyboard/mouse).

Of course, Windows 7 allows you to join a working group and which allows sharing data from other systems, but is not a network "domain." Those are centrally managed by network/firewall servers and network administrators.

If the device is a personal device, then there are products that can be purchased allowing the locking of the external media storage devices; they run at first upward and once installed, don't allow external storage devices to use once it is uninstalled. All this happens in the background.

There is however a very radical measure, and this is to turn off the USB port at the hardware level. This however, would prevent ANY type of USB device to work in this port. This type of restriction is probably is not the right course of action.

    I hope this helps...

    Good luck!

  • How to put pictures of file to the folder in windows 7

Images, I want to move image files in a folder.  How do I in a way much less time creating a folder, then drag each picture in it?  400 photos take forever!  I'm a novice at this business of the computer.

After using a keys ctrl + together if you want to deselect multiple files to the list of list or a folder that also got selected with select all methods,.

Hold down the CTRL key again and left click, the files or folders or point your Cruiser files (depending on how your mouse is put in place to select the files), you don't want to move or copy to the new folder.

Make a right click dragging you offers four choices, move to / copy / create a shortcut for / and cancel.

  • Accidentally moved all the pictures into folders separated in single folder!

So somehow I managed to pass all my photo of my work out of their respective files, well organized files in a single folder. I can't figure out how. All 15 588 of them... now unorganized in one folder. 'Undo' didn't work and I tried to restore from a backup of the catalog without success. Also... my backup Time Machine refuses to restore because the drive is messed up, so it's useless. Lightroom has still all recognized records in the catalog, but the pictures are missing, (?) and not just "d - link" them and point Lightroom for photos in the new folder.

So guess my question is, can I I go to each folder in lightroom and physically move all the photos that were previously in this NEW folder in this folder on the system automatically? It seems that lightroom recognizes the folders used to exist here... just can't find them. Well, I know that they are all in a folder and would like Lightroom to move them all back into their appropriate folders. In this way, when I search a folder on my computer (not in lightroom), the folder that contains the photos that used to be there. I hope this makes sense. I use Lightroom 4.1 on a Mac OSX version 10.8.3. Thanks for any help.

My apologies in advance: I did not read all of the background messages.

    If I understand correctly:

    * Folder structure in Lightroom is intact (but the folders/files are considered to be 'missing').

    * Folder on the disc structure has been flattened (all files are now in a single folder, instead of a tree).

  • How to get links into folders to drive C (startup disk) to refer to items stored on drive D (storage only)?

    Good afternoon.

My apologies for what is probably a very simple question, but unfortunately I've had encephalytis, have a very bad memory and if forgot a lot of my computer knowledge since the last set up a new computer several years ago.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, I count a lot on IT with my State and so decided to update my old computer with something faster and capable. I built myself a new computer recently, with two disks in mirror of SS for initializing and launching the software, as I wanted the fastest answer for these functions. Then I have two hard drives mirrored 10 000 rpm, which I intend to use only for storage - documents, photos, music... etc. This system has Windows 7 Professional installed.

This is where my memory is me drop.

I need to know how to start the shortcuts from the menu links and desktop which currently refer to the 'My Documents', 'My music', 'My videos' records and so forth that Windows created on the C drive and instead, ask them to refer to folders on the drive D. I tried the expediency of simple cut and paste the files in question in D drive hoping that Windows would automatically follow that change and create the links required, but this does not seem to happen. In any case, doing so caused problems, and I needed wipe the readers and to reload the operating system and all of my software again.

Moreover, that Windows has already been reference to the files on the C drive, is possible to keep this association - as this is what Windows expects and would likely stop the least - but create links between files on drives C and D, so that when the folders on drive C are accessible through my desktop shortcuts they refer to the content of the folders on drive D? If possible, I would greatly appreciate a detailed guide, step by step on how to implement, as I can just remember how to do this.

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Stephen Wallace.

Moving most of the shell, such as My Documents/photos/music/videos folders, should automatically update the location.  For example, if you drag the My Documents folder to another drive, it will go there.  You can still see the icon under C:\Users\Stephen\, but all the files you put in there will reside on the other disk.

Another way to accomplish the same task is right click on the shell folder, choose Properties, and then move it to the location tab.
Another option is the Windows 7 libraries.  You can create your own folder on your drive to another, then right click on your document library to include this file and use it as for the library's default save location.  Every time that you save in the library, he actually be saved on the other drive, yet easily accessible in the library.
    • I have an example on my site on the use of SkyDrive as a default save location so that the files that you store in your library will actually store up to storage online instead.  The same steps to configure your other drive as storage location.  See the steps or watch the video here: http://skeene.net/tech/sync-your-libraries-to-skydrive/
  • How to put pictures as program default for import in Windows 8?

I asked this already in the Photo Gallery section, but we ask here in the Windows 8 forums instead.  She is probably right that this is not a feature of the program, but the OS, so I should ask here.  Here's the question:

The default for importing photos and videos option in Windows 8 is the "Photos" application  However, I also installed Photo Gallery and Movie Maker, which are part of the Windows Essentials pack and I would like to make photo library, the default program to handle the import pictures and videos.  I love the way this library allows you to event type names and then group photos and videos automatically in folders based on date taken.

On my Windows 7 machine, it was simple enough to choose just photo library as default program for action "import pictures and videos".  But in Windows 8, the process is a bit more confusing.  Moreover, I am technically savvy, so this should not be complicated, but I have to just miss a step.

I realized that I can go to the control panel > AutoPlay (or I can also open the Photo Gallery and go to file > Options > import > choose default AutoPlay options).  Under 'Storage of camera' I expect to see the option that you want, but I did not.

What I see as choice are things like:

    • See photos (Photo Gallery)
    • Copy pictures to your computer (Picasa 3)
    • Download images (Adobe Bridge CS6)
    • Import pictures and videos (pictures)

But there's No option "Import pictures and videos (Photo Gallery)".

I've read elsewhere that I might need to change the association of image file to point to the photo gallery.  But the thing is, I don't want to click on the photos and videos and to open the photo gallery.  In other words, I don't want my default viewer Photo Gallery (I want it to be the Picasa Viewer), but I don't want it to be my default importer.

I also realize that I always open the Photo Gallery and then choose Import, but which does not have my desire to have a work of AutoPlay for importation.  Once again, it was simple in Windows 7; so, what should I do in Windows 8 for the pictures my default program for importing photos and videos while keeping another program as my default photo display?

    Additional information:

    64-bit Windows 8

    Photo Gallery 2012 (16.4.3508.205)

    Dell XPS 8500 i7 / Radeon 7770 GPU

Well, I don't know which of the problem resolved following registry entries, but I now have the ability to import videos and photos with photo gallery.  These steps assume that you have already installed the latest photo gallery and Movie Maker, which is owned by Windows Essentials.  It also assumes that you are running a 64-bit version of Windows 8.

If someone wants to try this, first backup your registry.

Start by registering WLXPhotoAcq.dll and WLXPhotoViewer.dll.

Open a CMD prompt in Admin mode.  Now, type the following:

    c:

    CD "\Program Files (x 86) \Windows Live\Photo Gallery.

    regsvr32 WLXPhotoAcq.dll

    regsvr32 WLXPhotoViewer.dll

You should get a dialog box after each call regsvr32 confirming that the registration was successful.

Now, copy these lines into Notepad and save it as a file with a .reg (e.g. PhotoGalleryImport.reg).  Then, double-click the file. When you are prompted, allow update the registry.

  • How to import pictures into LightroomCC of pictures of Yosemite Mac app?

Hi, how to import import my photos 5000 + application on Mac Yosemite Photos in lightroom?  Should be simple right?  But LightroomCC can't find my pictures under my user name, where they are located.  I don't understand either of previews.

I looked around the answers.  Read around, it looks like Adobe has established a process of migration to LightroomCC of Aperture. And there are things written on the importation of iPhotos.  But two of these products are now gone.

How to import from Yosemite to begin to use LightroomCC?

Thank you very much for your answer.

I figured out how to this.  Other responses to the "duplicate" pictures don't work for a large number of photos.  You can create a second copy of your photos by selecting and in June 2015 in Photos of Yosemite Mac app, go to file and then export it, then export original unmodified.  With that, I was able to export photos in a folder that could be read by LightroomCC.

On the other hand, I used other applications, light Amazon cloud, which contrast the cloud of Adobe, can read directly from the 'Photos' of Mac library.  But until Adobe figures how to do what other companies like Amazon are already doing, I recommend that you try to use the workaround above.  I hope that that someone avoids wasting time on a simple task to import photos into Adobe.
