How to recover a W7 OS on the new HARD disk USB flash drive?

I have my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop friends. HARD drive have a lot of bad sectors, but it was fun to do:

  • a copy of the image of recovery dell USB flash drive via Dell Backup and Recovery Application
  • a copy of the very important files
  • and a copy of the 2 partitions to each image using Acronis True Image application file:
  1. FAT16 Pri 39, 19 MB FS: FAT16 Partition: 0xde (EISA configuration)
  2. Pri, Act 14.65 GB NTFS RECOVERY

RECOVERY partition have the same content, such as a usb flash drive with I used to do a recovery Dell image.

If she buys a new drive HARD this what should I do/use to recover Windows 7 from a USB?

PS. I have nothing to lose and I try to play with the hard drive has failed.
First of all I do partition of LBA 0 to 80 GB first where bad sectors and hide this partition.
Then I do these partitions 2 "dell" and the rest for system files.
Then I recover these partitions of 2 "dell" using Acronis True Image.
Then I use a usb flash drive to recover Windows 7, it retrieves for maybe 10 seconds and he said that, please restart.
When it shows BOOTMGR is missing, press ctrl + alt + delete and now I see only 2 partitions labeled OS ~ 298 GB and RECOVERY ~ 2 GB.

The problem is resolved.

The best solution is to use ImageX 2.0 to extract file Factory.wim partition RECOVERY or USB flash drive. Just search on google. New installation of operating system is also an option - I know about it. Fortunately, this Dell factory contains no useless software.

Thanks for all the help!

  • Satellite l.660-12 q - would the recovery disk rebuild the new HARD disk with a new recovery partition

Talk about confusion. Does anyone know how to get a Toshiba C660 work after the HARD drive failed and the owner has stupidly NOT followed the instructions to make a recovery disk. Will be the recovery disk (if buy you one from Toshiba) rebuild the new HARD disk with a new recovery partition and install windows 7 (original OS) and accept the product key printed on the Windows license, attached to the base of the laptop. I have read a number of suggestions, but these have been considered incorrect by others.

Surely, Toshiba must have a way to sort this problem.

    They read these messages?

    Hey Buddy

I don't think it's really complicated, that I could find all the information about the recovery procedure in the user's manual

The recovery disk must be created on the first day of purchase its recommended to create one in case something would be wrong with the HARD drive.

The recovery disk contains an image. The image is a package containing Win system, drivers, tools and all the stuff pre-installed on the notebook.
You bought the laptop and the system has already been activated so that you have need of t the key placed at the bottom of the unit.
In addition, the use of the recovery disc formats the drive HARD integer (partitions too) and set the laptop in the same condition as at the first day of the purchase.

There is also another option to recover the notebook called HARD drive recovery. This HARD drive recovery requires no recovery disk. The recovery disc HARD would be to use format ONLY partition C (System).

  • Cannot open iphoto library after copy old HARD drive to the new HARD disk

I had to buy a new MacBook and recover my files, the old MacBook HARD drive is connected to the new via a USB connection and support base.  I have successfully transferred all my files to the new disk.   However, I can't open the iPhoto library that I just moved through without going through the old drive still connected.  I get a message like "cannot open the migrated library.   However, the new iPhoto on the new laptop is accessible OK.

Yu try to open the iPhoto Photos or iPhoto library?  "Cannot open the migrated library" alert indicates, that you opened the library on Photos for Mac and application Photos changed the name of the library ".migratedphotolibrary" file extension

If you open the photo library, but want to use with iPhoto, change the extension of your iPhoto in ".photolibrary" library file name

Reinstall correctly. Activation does not work because in the technical sense is not simply there. Screw you them. Run the cleanup tool if necessary and contact support to reset the activations.

  • HP Elitedesk 800 G2 SFF: external hard drive not detected in the BIOS. Only USB Flash drives are detected.

    Hi all

I received recently 2 new HP desktop computers.

    HP Elitedesk 800 G2 SFF

    HP Elitedesk 800 G2 TWR

The goal is to test our real W7 x 64 image on these machines and to inject the missing drivers in the image.

MDT 2010 to create a deployment on a USB hard disk drive.

This disc of deployment is already used on 16 different models of HP in the company (Elitebook, zBook, EliteDesk) to install our image so I know it works.

Unfortunately, the two HP Elitedesk 800 G2, I can't start the boot disk but I cannot to USB for a USB key.

The USB drive is not detected and not proposed in the BIOS Menu of STARTUP.

Only the internal HD, external USB Flash Disk, DVD and network devices are detected.

Here's what I already checked or tried:

    • Latest Version of the BIOS installed (2.05)
    • UEFI Boot has been disabled. (not supported by our record of deployment)
    • USB ports are enabled (front and rear).
    • All types of USB devices are allowed in the BIOS
    • The start command has been changed to start with USB devices.
    • Legacy support is active and Secure Boot disabled
    • Delete the keys to secure boot
    • Reset secure by default startup keys
    • This morning, I created a new disk deployment on a USB Flash drive and it works!

So, it seems that only Flash USB drives are detected.

I know it is possible to return the flag removalble on a USB device to cheat the system and make it appear as a disk fixed, but I want a simple solution.

Does anyone know a fix or a workaround for this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

For those interested in the answer, here's the final results.

It turns out that the hard 500 GB external drive can be detected if it is fomatted in FAT32.

It's strange because my 16 GB USB Flash drive formatted in NTFS works very well.

In any case, I'll create a FAT32 Partition to the Boot MDT files and put my picture (because the file is too big for FAT32 partition) on the secondary partition (formatted as NTFS).

Thanks to the technical pre-sales team of HP who helped me with this!

  • the new hard disk OS installation - help! 1

has confirmed that my old hard drive on my laptod hp is broken.

new hard drive came - still in packaging.

What should I do next, after the installation of the hard disk that is the easy bit - thankfully I did of the disks when I first bought the old laptop and the windows license number is still visible under the cover of laptop.

I read something about BIOS, but it sounds scary.

go for a drink and the Dutch courage and hope a few simple tips please!

If you have the recovery disks, they should include your operating system (Vista) and all the drivers and programs provided with your computer. He must restore it to the way it was when you bought it originally.

You need to update right after installation (of course).

    Good luck!

  • Portege A100: Change the new HARD disk in slave mode?

Hello, I have a portege a100 laptop, I want to buy a Dvd for my laptop burner and one in mind, even if I need to put my hard drive in slave mode first, that the dvd drive is set as master.
My hard drive model is MK1032GAX, could someone tell me that it is possible to do so, before buying the dvd burner to 100%.

    Hello

To my knowledge it s is not possible. The technology of the laptop is different, and you can't compare it with the desktop PC.
As far as I know, the settings are fixed and you cannot change it. I think that the HARD disk controller is set master and you need to buy a compatible CD/DVD player.
Player settings are different and the Toshiba service partner can give you more details about compatible CD/DVD players.

  • Need advice on the new hard disk for Satellite A60 302

I want a new hard drive in my laptop (Satellite A60-302) t. This is - http://www.seagate.com/cda/products/discsales/marketing/detail/0, 1596,736,00.html drive, to adapt to the laptop?

Answer to this question can give just anyone who has the same unit and tested it with the same HARD drive. Problem is that there is no exact specification on the latest BIOS updates and no one can say with certainty whether or not he will support.

  • HP Touchsmart 520-1020 PC: installation of operating system/recovery on the new HARD disk media?

    Hello everyone!

I recently bought and installed a new hard drive on my Touchsmart 520-1020 after that started to spoil. Given that I don't return to the top of my media and the model was old enough, I had to buy a whole new pack of system directly from HP recovery disks. I tried to install them several times, but each time that the process of recovery achieved 39% the disk #2 (in 4 total) that breaks down just, and a message appears saying that there is an error 0xe0ef000e. I thought it might be produced because the hard drive is not compatible, but the hard drive is reading for diagnostic tests, so is not the problem. HP support suggested that the problem could be with the discs, but I bought it on the official HP website to make them new. Please let me know what you think the problem might be. Thank you for your time.

More than likely disk 2 is bad, call HP for a replacement set.

  • reinstalled Windows XP Pro on the new HARD disk, not invited to key code

My Dimension 9200 needed a new HARD drive. Ordered from Dell, installed HD then re-installed Windows XP Pro sp2. I forgot to unplug the media reader, so I had to reinstall it again to get HARD drive letter assignment as C. Added drivers in good condition and just download and install sp3 and all the necessary updates. Now, all that remains is to transfer all the files from the old HD.

Never, I was invited to the WinXP key code. I DO have the Dell OEM disc as well as the installation key code in the original Dell factory. I was wondering if anyone else had the same "problem". I checked under administrative tools and don't see anything that ask you "activation". The only thing that I went off and was invited to provide was the key code when I installed MS Office 2003. When I check in system properties, General, it shows that it is registered to me and some numbers with Dell OEM then more numbers, not the OS key code well.

Anyone can shed some light on this? Thank you

When you use a Dell OEM media on a Dell computer, it checks the BIOS to make sure that it is install on a Dell computer, then it will be activated automatically, using a generic OEM key.  As long as you have the sticker COST/License/Product Key, you have the right to run Windows on this computer.  That's pretty standard for OEM systems.

System properties still shows a 'code', not the actual key.  You can use Magic Jelly Bean to retrieve the key used to activate Windows, but the key, that he will return does not match your COA and cannot be used for manual activation.

  • CS4 programs to the new hard disk do not work.

I have a Power Mac G4. Hard drive failed and tech cloned everything to another hard disk, he installed. Tech seemed bewildered by my older Mac. Now none of my CS4 programs work. They crash when you try to open a file. Once I got an error message in Photoshop, 131:4. Another time, I got a message about the license issues. Technicians phone Adobe cannot help because my OS 4.2 system is too old. A license problem or what?

The problem is most likely the cloning.  Adobe software must be installed using installation files.  Uninstall, use the cleaning tool and reinstall.

  • Why moves Lightroom to the new hard disk?

After countless failed attempts, I need help desperately... I have a 1 to internal with 37K images that I've been using LR3 for one year.   I installed a second internal drive of 2 TB and to move images catalogue LR and etc.... We have 3 attempts failed and the blogs are littered with people who have problems with this...

What is the best way?   Last attempt was an export of catalog to the new drive... looked at it worked but when I went to bed around 03:00 but I received this morning and even if he says completed the file did not export during the evening..., I looked and the files were written in the new HD but no files existed there this morning... what gives which is a better process and why is it so difficult that many people express frustration full on sound in their blogs?

I don't see that LR movement to a new location is still difficult. Just copy the catalog file and open it. If you also want to move your image files, then copy them on in the same structure of folder, then open the catalog and choose move the folders.

If you do a more complicated methods then it is you who are complicating the issue, not Adobe.

People constantly seem to overcomplicate things by themselves, creating complex structures to manage files, rather than use LR to manage files; using the catalogue of export when this just is not required when copying the entire catalog... etc. Keep things simple. Everything except your original files is stored in the catalog file. For a catalog of everything that you need to work is this file and the original images.

I regularly copy my catalog back between the various different computers (even between Mac and windows machines), external drive, etc., without the slightest problem
