Unable to access earlier restore points
original title: recovery Sestem problem
I have XP home installed and tried to do a system recovery. When I arrived at the page with the calendar on that I couldn't choose an earlier date. I'm on automatic update and I was wondering if a recent update may have changed the process. I guess I'm looking for options.

How can I see all the restore points?
I have Vista and my system has become unstable - black screen and no reply until I turn off computer with switch. I decided to do a restore. Come to the window to restore the system, but only two show Restore Points - yesterday and day before. But the system has been bad for a week or more. How to see the previous Restore Points? C: has 42 GB of free, so there is plenty of room. I had the computer a few years and remember the definition of the prior restore points and have recently added programs.
"But the system has been bad for the week or more.
I don't know what caused your original problems; not only the problems of SR.
They are probably related.
Run the SFC Scan:
"How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the files on system missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7"
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
If your problems persist, you can borrow a DVD of visits of Microsoft, not the manufacturer's recovery disc and try a repair installation:
"How to perform a repair for Vista Installation"
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-Vista.html
I say not that the above will fix your missing points of the SR, but it can solve your problems of global system and get SR working properly for future needs.

Have you thought that your system may have hardware problems?
See you soon.

How would remove old XP system restore points?
I would like to delete the old system restore points (there should be several) on a Windows XP home edition, 32-bit, Service Pack 3.
It is one way.
-Disk Cleanup Launch the disk cleanup tool, and then select the options tab. On this tab, you will find a section for the restoration of the system. If you press the button Clean Up for this article, Windows will delete all except the most recent restore points.

How can I permanently save a restore point?
I would definitely save a 'good' restore point. Currently all the stops are eventually crushed.
Hello BryanCulwick,
You can not do with the restoration of the system because, as you say rightly, all restore points are eventually replaced or deleted.
Your best option is third-party imaging software. Personally, I use EaseUS Todo Backup. I create an image of my c: drive and afford EaseUs Todo Backup save the image of a removable USB drive. EaseUS have a free version (well it's free for home users, anyway) of Todo Backup http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm

Bookmarks have disappeared. Cannot add new bookmarks, import from another browser, open the previous bookmarks file. I tried the solutions in Help and troubleshooting without success. CCleaner doesn't work anymore when it comes to Firefox. I've used this for years with the problem. Everything else seems to work.
Problem solved by synchronizing with my cell phone. None of the solutions in "Help" has solved the problem. CCleaner now work again.

How to find previous restore points in Vista?
I had Windows Vista Home Premium. I then upgraded to Windows Vista Ultimate... I would go back to the Home Basic edition, but when I go to restore points it only shows the restore points for these days.
There is a checkbox to display the old restore points but it goes back only a few days and I need to go back a few weeks...
Can someone help me to let me know how I can see the earlier restore points?
Thanks Libby999

I did my recovery disks, but I still need to learn how to do, set, show, find restore points? Anyone know?
Come on in "configuration/system board and security/system and on the left, you will see a link 'System Protection'.» Give it a few seconds to recognize discs. From there, you can create the points system restore and restore your PC to an earlier time. Your PC will also automatically create system restore points every so often. -

Don't forget to check with the system manufacturer for instructions, as the recovery of your system and the
Restore points should not have one impact on the other. Did you use OEM manufacturer system

How to create a system in safe mode restore point?
How can I create a system restore point when Windows is started in safe mode (without network)?
Help and Support says to click on "here" (link) to open the system (Control Panel), then click on the System Protection in the left pane.
When Windows starts normally, Protection system is indeed in the left pane, as shown below.
But the Circle line does not appear in the control panel system, when it is running in safe mode.
Obvious workaround: create the system in normal mode restore point. But I prefer to do it in safe mode. Not allowed?
Creating a Restore Point requires the Volume Shadow Service to run. This service does not run in Mode safe, so you cannot create a restore mode safe Point. However, you can use a script in Normal Mode to create a Restore Point.

Find previous restore points.
When I opened the system restore, the only restore point that is displayed is earlier today. How can I see earlier restore points? And if the system is to keep only a single restore point, as seems to be the case, where and how can I change the settings to save restore points more in the future?
